Rolling Stone Calls T.O.P the K-Pop Equivalent of Justin Timberlake

Rolling Stone magazine recently compiled their own list of 2013’s Hottest Sex Symbols, and Big Bang‘s very own T.O.P made it on the list! Their reason for choosing the handsome rapper-turned-actor was that he was “K-Pop’s answer to Justin Timberlake: a handsome, stylish, talented multi-threat.” They also cited his global collaborations with famous names in the global music industry such as Major Lazor and Pixie Lott as another major reason why he’s just hot stuff.

T.O.P and G-Dragon were featured in Pixie Lott’s “Dancing On My Own” back in 2012 and earlier this October, Major Lazor featured them in a remix of his earlier released hit, “Bubble Butt“. Unlike their previous songs, G-Dragon and T.O.P showcase their Korean pride and bring it into their rap verses for “Bubble Butt.”

The year 2013 has indeed a memorable one for T.O.P, who branched off on his own and continued to make his hone his acting prowess with the release of his film, “The Alumni” which earned him the “Rookie Award” at the Asia Star Awards this year.

When T.O.P released the music video for “Doom Dada” through Big Bang’s official YouTube channel, it was an overnight sensation and topped all ten music charts in real-time. T.O.P wrote the lyrics for “Doom Dada” and co-composed the song with Choice37. As shown in the music video in a somewhat chaotic and abstract fashion, “Doom Dada” dates back to the beginning of human evolution and raises questions about the regression of popular culture.

While T.O.P may ooze sexiness and uncapped creative potential, it remains to be seen what his next move will be in music, film or beyond. We think he’ll nail it.
