Teen Scammer Makes $6,500 USD by Pretending to Sell EXO Concert Tickets

A 19-year-old male has been arrested in the city of Bucheon in Gyeonggi Province on charges that he scammed fellow citizens by pretending to sell EXO concert tickets. He is said to have scammed at least 48 people, making away with 6,940,000 Won (about $6,500 USD). Since most of the victims were high school girls, the police suspect that more crimes went unreported.

The suspect had worked part time as a ticket seller in the past, and used his work experience to carry out the scam. He allegedly posted EXO tickets online and guaranteed to pay a fine to the buyer if anything went wrong. He then used this ruse to get their bank account information.
