TVXQ's Changmin Cast as Lead for Mnet Drama

TVXQ‘s Changmin will transform into a webtoon artist who still carries the pain of his first love.

On January 22, Mnet revealed that Changmin has been chosen as the lead for the new four-episode ghost romance drama, “MIMI.”

Changmin has been showing strong results in the K-Pop world as DBSK has recently won first place for “Something” and he has also been receiving much love in the variety show realm for his fun presence and remarks. But this time, Changmin will become a man hurting over a lost love in this new drama.

“MIMI” is the story of a beautiful but sad first love between a man and a woman, whose fates are reversed. Changmin plays the role of Min Woo, a handsome webtoonist in rising popularity, who goes forth to look for his lost first love.

Changmin will be going back and forth from the present-day 28-year-old weboonist Min Woo to the young 18-year-old high school student Min Woo.

In the drama, Min Woo coincidentally discovers a memo on a table, which inspires him to create his new webtoon titled “December 8.” The webtoon kicks off to great success but as time progress, Min Woo finds himself getting big headaches and feeling big pressure from his work. He then decides to go find his first love from ten years ago.

On being cast as the lead, Changmin commented, “It’s not easy acting out the 28-year-old Min Woo and the 18-year old Min Woo at the same time but I am having fun while filming. Anyone can relate to the theme of first love so I hope there will be a lot of interest and anticipation for this drama.”

Mnet’s “MIMI” will first air on February 21.
