Lee Sung Jae's Father Passes Away After Battling 20 Years of Illness

On January 29, actor Lee Sung Jae‘s father has passed away at the age of 83 after battling Lou Gehrig’s disease for about 20 years.

After his father was rushed to the ER last October for a gastric hemorrhage, his condition was reportedly worsened.

Lee Sung Jae is currently at the site of the funeral. He had not scheduled any work for the time being in order to watch over his father.

Lee Sung Jae showed a lot of special feelings and affections for his father through several broadcasts. While he was on “I Live Alone,” he shed tears as he spoke about his father and wanting to spend more time with him while he can. When Lee Sung Jae was a guest on “Healing Camp” recently, he shared that his father was very ill. He sent his father a video message saying, “Father, you are a great man. As your son, I truly respect you. I love you,” also with tears.

Lee Sung Jae’s sources spoke with eNEWS and commented, “After Lee Sung Jae discovered that his father’s condition was worsened, he almost stopped all activities in order to spend more time with him. It seems that his sadness is greater since he lost his father near the Lunar New Year holidays.”
