SBS Inkigayo Off the Air for Fourth Consecutive Week

SBS’ music show “Inkigayo” will not be returning to the screen this week.

The program schedule for Sunday was revealed by SBS on May 8, and the representatives commented, “‘Inkigayo’ will not air on May 11. A rerun of Wednesday-Thursday drama ‘You’re Surrounded‘ will air instead.”

In addition, SBS’ singing variety show “1000 Song Challenge” will be replaced by a special documentary. Apart from “Smiling People,” all of SBS’ weekly variety shows have returned to their original schedules.

This will mark the fourth consecutive week of no “Inkigayo,” as the show has not aired since the tragic Sewol ferry incident that took place on April 16. 

In related news, MNet’s “M!Countdown” and MBC’s “Music Core” will air this week, but out of consideration for the victims of the tragedy, many artists have switched from upbeat songs to slow ballads for their promotions.
