Actress Lee Yoo Bi's Father Im Young Gyu to Serve 6 Months in Prison

It was announced on January 20 that actress Lee Yoo Bi‘s father, actor Im Young Gyu, was arrested on charges of obstruction of business and will be serving six months in prison with a probation of two years.

“While the accused is showing remorse, we took into consideration the fact that he has several other similar instances on his record,” said the judge for the case.

In October of last year, the actor caused a disturbance in a tent bar in Gangnam; after getting drunk he started a fight with other customers and made a scene. Moreover, in July, on his way home after drinking, he neglected to pay his taxi driver and underwent a summary trial.

Im Young Gyu debuted in 1980 through MBC’s open recruitment, and married actress Kyun Mi Ri in 1993. The couple divorced six years later, and their daughter, Lee Yoo Bi, is currently active as an actress, having most recently played the character Yoon Yoo Rae in the SBS drama “Pinocchio.”
