EXO's Chanyeol Explains Why He Cried during Recent Concert

After clips of Chanyeol crying during the opening night of EXO‘s solo concert were uploaded on the internet on March 7, fans have been wondering what might have caused his sudden outburst of emotions.

The question has now been answered by the idol himself. On March 8, EXO held a press conference for their concert “EXO PLANET #2-The EXO’luXion” at the Olympic Park Gymnastics Stadium in Seoul.

During the session, Chanyeol revealed what made him cry the day before, “To be honest, I was not supposed to cry in front of our fans. However, so many things happened [during our break]. Looking at our fans’ faces while singing our encore track ‘Promise,’ I was about to cry. At the end of the show, our fans held up signs and shouted ‘Thank you,’ and I was extremely touched by that.”

“When I woke up this morning, my eyes were all swollen, which I’m a bit worried about. Nonetheless, I will have fun [on stage],” he added.

EXO has three more shows coming up on March 13, 14, and 15, and the concerts will be followed by the group’s long-awaited comeback.
