EXID's Hani Encourages Fans to Keep Taking Fancams

After a fancam of their performance of “Up & Down” led to a huge boost in popularity, EXID is encouraging its fans to keep on shooting.

Hani revealed during a press conference for EXID’s upcoming second mini-album “Ah Yeah” that the group is anticipating more fancams during its performances going forward. “It’s not an exaggeration to say that our popularity is directly tied to that fancam,” Hani said, referring to the now viral video of the group’s performance of “Up & Down” from last year.

“We used to use fancams to monitor ourselves, but we are very thankful that many other people are now watching them as well. We hope that our fans will continue to shoot and watch fancams in the future,” she said. When asked just how many videos the group wanted, EXID’s members replied that “one to two million would be great.”

During the press conference, the group also hinted at the upcoming choreography concept for the new album. “Just like the dance for ‘Up & Down’ was focused on the pelvis, the new concept is all about the legs,” Junghwa said, boosting anticipation for the new mini-album.

“Ah Yeah” will feature five new songs along with three previously released tracks. Producer Shinsadong Tiger and member LE worked together on creating the music for the album, taking into account everything from each member’s register to their pronunciation. The title track, “Ah Yeah,” a dance track that features a punky rhythm and catchy hook, is a chic and lively song about a girl’s response to a passive guy.

“Ah Yeah” will be made available for purchase at noon on April 13 through various online music stores. The group will also have their first comeback broadcast on April 14 on SBS MTV’s “The Show.”
