BIOGRAPHY:

Our featured artiste this week is the 7-member rookie group 2PM.  2PM is actually a sub-group of a yet-to-be-debuted large group Hot Blood, with 2AM being the other sub-group.  It is the first time two sub-groups debuted before the main group debuted.

2PM are from JYP Entertainment, who has successfully launched many of the biggest stars in Korean and international entertainment over the years.  Famed producer/singer Park Jin-young is the mastermind behind this ambitious project, 2PM.  While 2AM is a ballad group, 2PM are just the opposite as their members have energetic dance moves and good vocals.

Comprised of seven highly talented musicians picked out from numerous auditions, 2PM are expected to upgrade the public’s expectations of a boy band. Believing that a new concept and incomparable talent are the only means to survive in the fiercely competitive music world, the seven-member band has subjected itself to intense training. As a result, they were able to make their stunning debut this summer with unparalleled dance skills and remarkable singing, thus totally shattering the existing image of pretty boy bands.

2PM's debut song "10 Out Of 10" received very good response.  Despite facing very strong competition from more veteran singers and bands, this powerful dance song went to the top 3 on most music charts and stayed in the top 10 for many weeks.  Their follow up hit, "Only You", showcased another side of 2PM.  It is a mid-tempo R&B ballad and listeners can hear the good vocal skills of 2PM members. 

Despite debuting later than a lot of new singers in 2008, 2PM will be among the favorites to be nominated and win the best new artiste awards this year.  These seven amazingly talented and handsome young men will cause quite a sensation in the music scene for years to come.
