if anything goes wrong, food is my constantby: NotFromThisPlanet on: March 4, 2008 1:20am
Today, it is Girls' Day. Until I moved to Hawaii, I never knew there was such a thing, but it is very nice. I received some tasty candies and Chinese Pretzels. I'm guessing those are not the traditional items usually given, but I sure do like them. Happy Girls' Day! (Okay, on a side note does anyone know which is grammatically correct: Girl's, or Girls'? I googled it but there were different spellings as well. It made me confused and curious.)
Yesterday, was my friend Ashley's birthday (also Chioster's :) , Happy Birthday T) and we went to Cheesecake Factory. The wait for a table was pretty long (about an hour or so) , but we had fun talking while we waited to be seated. I was so hungry because all I had to eat before dinner was a banana, some bottled water, and a bag of Baby Star. I had a warm apple cider with whipped cream as my beverage. Apple cider reminds me of Halloween time when I was little. The girls were making fun of me because I always like to pick the most random dishes and sides off of the menu when we go out to eat. Also, because I have a tendency to change my mind about what dish I want to order at the very last moment. For my main course I chose Shrimp Scampi with angel hair and a side of mashed potatoes. I like to get as many carbs and fat into my body as possible. :) I feel like I have been in hazy dream all week. I have had a cold and I haven't had much sleep. The average has been 3 to 4 hours per night, and thats if I am lucky. People at work have also been sick and have been sharing their germs. You would think that the congestion, coughing, sneezing, itchy eyes, clogged ears, and other symptoms would be driving me insane. The only thing that is making me mad about being sick is that I can't enjoy my food. My taste buds are all wacky and nothing I eat seems to have flavor. On Friday, work had Filipino Potluck which I have been looking foward to . Free food always brings a smile to my face. . Everybody went all out and made their specialty dishes and some bought them. I was a little sad because I knew my stupid cold masks the goodness of food. I ate tons of lumpia and pansit. Saturday, I went to get Fro-Yo with my BF and his mother. I chose blackberry and all I could taste was a hint of berry. I cannot wait to get over this cold. I will probably gain 5 pounds eating food.
