Busan: A Photo Postby: the real ginger on: October 13, 2008 6:58pm
Not that many photos in this post, but here we go:
Basically, Busan was a blast. I went down with Dean and four friends, who then introduced us to more friends...and then we hooked up with a fellow soompier and HIS crazy crew of Danish/Icelandish/Russian/Koreans and the group got larger. Nothing like sitting on a bunch of 7-11 plastic mats, drinking soju and lighting fire crackers while trying to pronounce a really, really, really long Icelandish name for the fifth time. We only got to see one movie this year (it felt a lot more crowded than last year): Breathless. It was a gritty, dark, violent look at the Korean underground of poverty and gang violence. It was amazing...definitely check it out when it's released on dvd (I don't think this one is quite hitting the big screens).
I haven't uploaded it to youtube yet, but if you have facebook, you can watch the late summer/early fall compilation video that has clips from a noraebang, bars, busan, etc. Watch it here. »

Beautiful photos! Busan looks like a very photogenic city, being near the ocean and everything. And it looks like you had a lot of fun. The photo of Dean is a very nice portrait.
What was your impression of Busan? My university has a study abroad program to a uni there. Unfortunately all my research so far has been very Seoul centered but I would like to jump on the opportunity.

I have a D40 too... I mainly use the program mode and change the aperture as needed.

pyroteknix_crazy: It took me a few days to get used to the manual settings on my camera, but now I'm pretty fast with them. I've also gotten good at holding my hands steady. But a lot has to do with how good the actual camera is, I have a Nikon D40 and on the right settings, it produces good, blur-free photos at night,
memeu: What kind of camera do you have, and what settings do you normall use? I adjust the settings on my camera constantly (every few pictures) to make sure that the picture will be un-blurred, bright, not too red/blue, etc.

^I agree with Pyroteknix...but then your photo post are always great. I too wonder how you get such great pictures in low light. I can never quite get it.
Anyways, looks like you all had a great time...

Awesome shots!
New reader here. How do you manage to make your low light shots so blurr free. Do you use a tripod? My hands would never be steady enough. Ever!
Incredible!
