The Jay Park Movement [UPDATE6: 2PM TO CONTINUE W/O JAY]

UPDATE 6:

After much drama surrounding leader Jaebeom leaving 2PM, JYP has finally released an official statement regarding 2PM's future activities.

Unfortunately, 2PM will continue activities as 6-members, as JYP is stating that Jaebeom does not want to return as of now.

Whether Jaebeom not wanting to return is the truth or not, we have yet to hear. But as of now, 2PM will be 6 members.

Official statement:

Hello, this is JYP.

For the past five days we have listened to what many people had to say regarding the Jaebeom incident. We have listened to the rebukes towards Jaebeom, the rebukes toward our company, and many of you telling us to give him another chance has been carefully heard.

We have carefully and thoroughly discussed what the next moves are regarding our company, the 2PM members, and Jaebeom. Jaebeom has been receiving many encouraging comments from many fans, but his feelings about his wrong doings has still not changed. He still feels sorry and embarrassed for what he did and is not able to perform on stage. Jaebeom has pleaded to not cancel 2PM's activities which was the result of the sweat, blood and tears of the other six members, just because of what he has done. He has said this is the reason why he must leave 2PM.

I also agree with Jaebeom. The reason why i have not held on to Jaebeom is because if we look towards the life ahead of him, this will not be a big matter that will effect his whole life. Many of you are worried that he has wasted four years of training towards his dream, but i believe that training has not gone to waste, because if he grabs this chance to mature as a person, Jaebeom will be able to fly better than ever.

I believe that as harmful the words that came from Jaebeom were, telling him to immediately leave the country was no better. I am going to respect his decision / wish of wanting to spend some time alone, off the stage and if and when the time comes that he tells me he is ready to come back on stage and perform, it is my duty / role to do everything in my power to help him with this wish. When that day comes, I believe that's when your encouragements and cheering will truly help him. I am once again truly sorry and apologize for not being able to thoroughly take care of my artists. I will do my best in making sure things like this never happen again.

I once again would like to thank all of you.

2PM will continue as a 6 member group.

I'm honestly torn. According to Jay's acquaintances, he does want to return. According to JYP, he doesn't. 2PM will be returning soon with 6 members. But the real question is, can we handle that? Alot of people have given up the boycott and stated that they will support 1:59. To be honest, there are moments when I'm ready to give up and let 1:59 continue on but then I think:

How would DBSK be without Yunho?
How would SNSD be without Taeyeon?
How would 2NE1 be without CL?
How would Big Bang be without G-Dragon?
How would the Wonder Girls be without Sunye?
How would Super Junior be without Eeteuk?
How would F(x) be without Victoria?
How would Epik High be without Tablo?

I tried hard to imagine, but I couldn't. So I came up with one word: incomplete. I have decided to keep supporting all Hottests and their cause because as much as I love the 6 boys, 2PM is not 6. 2PM is 7. Just as DBSK is 5. Just as SNSD is 9. Just as Super Junior is 13. Just as 2NE1 is 4.

UPDATE 5:

Jay's father's friend speaks out. Do we need any more proof that Jay wants to return? Hottests must continue showing their support so that Jay knows he will be welcome WHEN HE RETURNS. Bless Boom for being such an amazing person.

UPDATE 3:
The Jay Conspiracy continues. If you've been catching up with the news, there are many rumors that Jay was urged to "resign for the better of the group" and that JYPE did not make an effort to help nor protect Jay. It also came to light that Jay told his friend "that
the only thing saving his career right now are his fans." He also stated that " the people who will save his career are his fans."

So let's help Jay.

There is currently a JYPE boycott:

Statement of Boycott

September 5th, 2009. The written words of private emotions that 2PM's leader Park Jae Beom posted on a personal online space four years ago sparked a controversial debate among the netizens. Incorrect and cunning translation, and misunderstood news articles led Jae Beom to be blamed by the public. Even after an apology, due to the biased opinions of the netizens, he withdrew himself out of 2PM on September 8th and left Korea. The issue still remains debatable until now.

Later on 10th of September, 2PM’s management company, JYPE, released its official statement on the hotly debated Jae Beom’s issue. However, the statement only torched a bigger fire on the controversy. JYP’s official statement infers Jae Beom as the sole decision maker on his resignation without mentioning the company’s negligence of its responsibility, which are guardianship and care for its trainees. Moreover, the statement’s point is obscure with only emotional persuasion to cover avoidance in clarifying the reasons for not stopping Jae Beom’s resignation.

2PM Fans feel disappointment and rage toward JYP’s irresponsible handling on this situation; so we conclude that JYP cannot guarantee Jae Beom and the other six 2PM members' future, along with the other JYP artists. Therefore, the fans who support 2PM declare boycott of JYPE's products, as we oppose to JYPE’s irresponsible attitude.

One. We boycott all products on sale under JYPE's commercial right.

One. We boycott all activities of 2PM with six members without Park Jae Beom.

One. We decide to drop out of 2PM's official charged fanclub, Hottest; and we ask for refunds.

Our purpose in this action is to make 2PM fans' opinions clear: We would not approve nor acknowledge 2PM's activity without its leader, Jae Beom Park; and also the artist we want to support is 2PM, which will forever be consisted of 7 people. If JYPE disregards our cries, the fans will strongly oppose with the continuation of the boycott.

September 12th, 2009. 2PM Fan Union Underground.

First of all, we would like to reasonably explain about why we do the boycott

First, in this recent situation, we hope other fans also understand that Jaebeom is placed in the weak position. We have to side with the weak (Our 2PM leader, Jaebeom). At Official announcement of JYP Entertainment, they explained that Jaebeom decided himself to withdrawal from the team but that is not true. This entire situation occurred promptly in only four days. No one (JYP Entertainment’s people) stayed with Jaebeom, who was unduly oppressed by JYP Entertainment, until the last minutes and there was no mention to stop Jaebeom's withdrawal in producer Jin-Young Park's official excuse.

We don't know much about other country's entertainment agency but in Korea the power of agency is very strong especially to idol groups because agencies are managing those groups even before they debut. It means they obviously suppress even the trainees.
And also each idol group member and agency makes a contract that lasts very long period of time, and a member has to pay much of penalty if he decides to quit himself. Jaebeom also has made such a contract with JYPE. The contract says that it will continue in effect for 7years, and Jaebeom has only carried out 1 year so far, indicating there still remains 6 more years until JYPE will free Jaebeom.

This means that Jaebeom doesn't have enough power to decide his withdrawal decision by himself. Also we heard about Jaebeom's news from his friends at Seattle, so we are convinced that Jaebeom's withdrawal was not based on his own decision. JYP Entertainment put pressure on him to say that he will voluntarily leave the group.

Yes, Jin-Young Park is obviously great producer, but all entertainer who trained by JYP had an awkward position at before days. For example, Korea’s popular group GOD's fan club did a campaign to protect their member Jun-Hyung Park from unjust withdrawal (At that time, JYP Entertainment mentioned that Jun-Hyung Park is too old to be an ‘IDOL STAR’ so they wanted to made him out), their fans did the boycott and applied pressure to a sponsors (NOT BUYING THEIR PRODUCTS.), and finally they protected their member, Jun-Hyung.

We already requested to Thailand fans. Because, 2PM is well-known group in Thailand and also our action and boycott can be support to protest Jaebeom. To JYP, oversea country is very important marketplace to sell their entertainer’s goods of albums etc. If JYP lose like this marketplace, JYP Entertainment will get monstrous damage. This is why we all fans are doing boycott against JYP. Giving an economic pressure to JYP is the greatest method to protect our 2PM member, leader Jaebeom. This oppression will only exist by boycott. Just express “boycott” to JYP Entertainment will be effective method.

All fans of the world, and we also want “seven members of 2PM.” And other six members of 2PM also think that we all need Jay. When the event occurred, JYP Entertainment promptly expelled him. Please think that other six members’ depressed mind too. If this recent situation occurs to other member of 2PM, we do boycott to JYP Entertainment, take an effort to protect our members and request to all world 2PM fans. Korean fans are doing boycott because of protecting 2PM members, who unfairly treated by JYP Entertainment. Also now Korean fans are doing boycott to prevent future event that will occur to other 2PM members. So we request world fans to prevent this unfair treatment by JYP Entertainment. All we need is world fans’ help and support.

Why the overseas fans have to actively boycott JYP?

1. We take such action, not because we want 2PM's leader Park Jaebeom to come back as soon as possible, but so that his withdrawal from 2PM can be repealed. For Jaebeom and the rest of the 2PM members who must be in more shock than anyone else, we are asking JYP for Jaebeom's withdrawal to be repealed, and for a possibility of Jaebeom's official comeback.

2. We feel raged at JYP, the CEO, for acknowledging the netizens' reactions toward issues about Jaebeom, and not sympathizing with the circumstances of Jaebeom five years ago when he wrote those words. Because of JYP, Jaebeom's nature is being blamed: This is like violation of human rights.

3. A huge management company remained simply spectating, saying that it's respectful, when Jaebeom withdrew himself out of 2PM. Such action is as if the company pressured a young, powerless singer.

4. We are boycotting JYP's records, concerts, and all advertised products because the pressure from the advertisers to the Korean management companies is more effective than the opinions from the fans. The effectiveness of boycotting was proven when similar event occurred in the past (g.o.d case, the three major newspaper companies). What JYP did with Jaebeom's situation is the reality of Korean management companies. We ask the overseas fans to understand the Korean fans on this matter, please.

5. The management company that aims for the world market should understand different cultures, but JYP's response was immature; it is ruining Korea's reputation in countries overseas.

6. 2PM just started getting noticed in Korea, and the power of its fanbase is weak. But they are becoming popular in other countries overseas including Thailand, and a stable consumer base is forming for JYP. We sincerely ask for the overseas fans to actively participate for 2PM, where Jaebeom belongs.

I, for one, support this boycott. It's evident that the boys are suffering, fans are suffering and nothing is being done to ease this tragic situation.

For example, here was Taec performing 'My Ear's Candy' with Baek Ji Young before this all happened:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_gopPm4l5Es

And here is his performance from September 11th:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rf8U68EjrWA

We want 2PM. Not robotic, lifeless singers.

Netizens did something terribly wrong to 2PM and to Jay. Let's change that. We (netizens) had the power to take Jay down and we most definitely have the power to bring him back.
-------------------------------------------
UPDATE 2:

Jay has officially left Korea.
Good bye leader.

I never thought seeing his back turned to Korea would be so devastating.

Jay gives his last farewell with an apology..
-------------------------
His last words were "I'M SORRY"
--------------------------
Managers say that Jay was extremely nice and very well-mannered ussually very quiet (his attitude in general).. in interviews
---------------------------
He is going to a hospital in Shinchon due to the stress brougth on by Jay's withdrawal.. youngiie stay strong for us too please..

----------------------------
Wooyoung is believed to be heading to the hospital..
-----------------------------
All seven boys are crying. oh god we feel helpless.
------------------------------
Jay is already through the airport
-------------------------------
Wooyoung fainted.. at the airport
--------------------------------
Oh man, we want to express that fans say its not a small cry. but basically he, WooYoung, was out of it. ><
--------------------------------
Fans see 2PM walking through the gates and Woo Young crying..
@ 2OD TWITTER

*Note: Wooyoung fainting is supposedly false news created by anti-fans.

Will 2PM ever be the same again?

ORIGINAL POST:

I've never been an obsessive fangirl, but this is heartbreaking.

"Hello, I'm 2PM's Jaebeom.

I'm sorry for giving you my last greeting through this letter.
I think it will be hard for me to see you all on stage because of my sorry heart.

I'm really sorry to everyone, and I'm even more sorry to the fans who have shown me love.
From today, I will leave 2PM.

2PM boys, I'm really sorry to the boys and I'm sorry I couldn't be strong as a leader and a hyung and have to leave like this.
However, I hope you will be more cool and charming.

Again, I'm sorry.

Jaebeom"

IT HAS BEEN CONFIRMED.
As of now, there is no confirmation. However, true or not, this situation has gone overboard and there needs to be an end. Waiting for the storm to blow over is no longer an option. This started over the internet and we need to show our support the same way. Jaebum is and will always be the leader of 2PM. Even if he chooses to leave, I want to show him that we, as Kpop fans, will always support him. I'm so sad that we couldn't all walk this through together. His punishment was far harsher than his crime. Jaebum made a mistake, but we are ready to forgive him. We will miss him dearly, we hope for the best in his future and we hope for his happiness.

I propose we start a movement. It's simple. Show your support by writing this simple message in your signature:

I SUPPORT JAY PARK!

That's all you have to do. Post it where you can. Post it on Daum, post it on Naver, post it on your forum signature. Tell your friends and fellow fans about it. For once, let's show the dedication and power of fans who unite for a cause. For one person it's a dream, but for 10,000, it's a movement.

10 seconds is all it takes. It's a simple gesture, but it's meaningful too. Show Jay we still care. I SUPPORT JAY PARK! Do you?

Additional Things to do:
Twitter Project | Tweet JYP one of the follow lines, once an hour:

@followjyp They aren't 7 people, they're ONE. 2PM is not 2PM without Jay.
@followjyp There is only one leader for 2PM. And he's Jay.
@followjyp We, Hottest, will never stop fighting for Jay, so please allow us to still fight for him.
@followjyp We trust you not to take Jay away from us. JYPE family, please understand us.
@followjyp We stand, believe, and love only 7. No more, no less, no one else.

Regardless that Jaebum is in 2PM or not, I think that the boycotting is ridiculous. For one, how will the rest of 2PM feel? Are you really a hardcore 2PM fan, or are you more worried about Jaebum? This is what he didn't want to happen to begin with. He was worried that there would be no fans, respect, or anything for the rest of 2PM. And this is what you fans are doing to him, to them. You're doing exactly what Jaebum didn't want to happen. If you're a Jaebum hardcore fan, then you know, that's just you. But, if you look at it; since your such a hardcore fan for him, then why don't you support what he wants? Support his arguments? Listen to what he wants for not only himself but for 2PM? A TRUE leader speaking. And yes, if you're wondering, I lovee Jaebum and 2PM the same. If anything, 2PM more than Jaebum. Because it's not only Jaebum that makes them whole. It's Jaebum, Nickhun, Junho, Junsu, Chansung, Wooyoung, and Taecyeon that makes up 2PM. All 7 that make up 2PM. Although now, there's only gonna be 6 members, I'm pretty sure Jaebum will be keeping track of their activities. So even though he's not there with them, he's there. The rest of 2PM will still be successful, cause they know that they're Hyung will be watching them like a guardian angel. 2PM & Jay Park FIGHTING!
