each generation leaves behind traditions and wisdom...
the generation that came before me (in terms of kpop and fanfiction) left me with the value of love and respect for gasoos and fandom and fanfiction. they taught me that love and communication are crucial. that purity does in fact exist when you love so wholesomely. the after-warmth of their love--of their familial atmosphere--was still here when i came on soompi.
i am concerned about our current generation/sub generation (in terms of times from "old school" to "new school" ... perhaps we are neo-"new school" ??) ... i am concerned about what we are collectively doing... what kind of world and traditions and messages are we shaping and sending to future generations? that is my concern. i do not want to leave soompi behind thinking that i did not do what i should have done. i do not want newbies to come and see a world that is so... hungry as i have put it before. i do not want newbies to see a world that has no familial atmosphere... a world that is not full of love and respect for the fundamentals of fanfiction/fandom/kpop/soompi/etc.
but perhaps soompi has just grown so massively that interests have surpassed even what is supposed to be the thread that binds us all together. the usage of "bind" sounds so negative though... like it is suppressive. it shouldn't be though... such a thread is what made soompi my home for so many years. i just wonder what others consider a home to be if they reject/"denounce" all that our past generations built for us...
