they are all very talented.

Yoona, is beautiful and her acting is so professional! she also surprises me whenever she dances. she's very talented.

Jessica, i didn't like her at first but i've come to love her. her features are so doll-like and i love her bangs. they make her face even more angelic. she's a terrific singer!

Tiffany, her aegyo is adorable. and her smiling eyes are very sweet.

Taeyeon, i love the dorky leader the best! she's silly but she's very caring towards her members. she takes care of them very well and she's a great leader with a strong vocal.

Yuri, is just perfect in my eyes. She can dance, sing, and act. she's adorable and her smile is killer!

Sooyoung, her hair seems to always be perfect don't you think? no matter what she does, i love her. she's so carefree and bubbly.

Sunny, she really does shine. she's got a great smile and she gets along with everyone so well. she's adorable and she makes me people happy!

Seohyun, the maknae really is too cute. she's so doll-like and her shyness is too cute! all the members love her because she's the youngest. and she's very talented.

Hyoyeon, she has a very unique beauty and she's so charismatic while dancing. she's the one who made me come to like Girl's Generation. She's very cool.

they talked about number of reasons but initially she was picked as a leader, because she had the earliest b-day, she had also known to be one of the best singers on SM roster before debut, which would concrete her place as a leader

not only in singing skills but also in morale and personality, she was more than capable of being a leader of the group as she was earliest to wake up rest of the members and ability to cook and take care of them

it was often noted that she has really strong bonds with ALL the members in numerous reference clips and many pre-debut pictures of the members. Not only with her roomates Sooyoung and Yoona, but also ever-so-famous TaeSica, and TaeFany...

as a side note, she had lived with Tiffany (then Stephanie) and Jang Ri In for couple of years before SNSD debuted.
