2001: Beautiful man LBH in Paris



His eyes, His smile

In the city of freedom and romance, we could meet LBH. A thrilling excitement from strange place made his eyes free and comfortable. There, he could unburden himself of Minchul's character in Beautiful Days and went back to what he is as an ordinary man.

The moment he shines

He looks like a child full of curious. He responds everything promptly. He keeps open his eyes and ears to be seen and heard. Seeing him asking the meaning and pronunciation of normal French signboard at the backstreets, His accurate acting - reading the line, his glittering eyes - can't be achieved easily. He DOES is an ACTOR. He started his career as TV talent and finally for the long time he became an actor. Now it is very natural to say him as an actor, but in old days he also had a time to be described as "tough guy" or "handsome boy". We forced him to act only toughness or rebellious. We locked him up as, so his acting hasn't changed; what changed is our view of looking him as an actor. Nothing was changed. He always is a good actor serious to his role and tries to his best since he was a new-face.




Like a magic, mesmerized to Minchul..

LBH, he lived up more than 2 months absorbed in Minchul without thinking. Saying his acting is getting in ripe is insufficient to his art of act. His eyes after he came out from Minchul's charisma looks exhausted. Beautiful Days surely was a good work and did great role to sore up his popularity in a way but for himself, it was a boring marathon wasting his energy and unprepared without knowing the end. He was accustomed to the condition that he pulls out his emotions and immersing the character and shoot films during the 2movies - Bungee Jump and JSA. Therefore broadcasting system-scripts for the nights' scene at the morning by fax, taking pictures without time absorbing the character or analyzing each scene maybe the difficult work for him. Everybody applauded his action praising no more charisma but he thought it was not enough because he couldn't feel he did his best for 3months. We can see his desire for his acting. Anyway, we also want him to feel Minchul's character more deeply.

A step back until he feels comfortable

Up to now he has reviewed 45 scenarios. Shrewd producers can't be missed the box office maker based on the acting like him. The fact to cast him is the guarantee the public success. Of course we all are curious of his next work but right now we have to wait for him. We don't want to push him another character right after he came out from the character. Our desire to see him soon will tie him up breathless. His continous acting by our force will do harm and going bad both of him and ours. We want him time and rest. He told he was like reborn after the drama was over. It caught my ears. Showing and making some characters without preparation is so shamed thing for him and that must have made him hard. Anyway, for the time being, we can't escape from Minchul's charisma... He was too PERFECT,,, His other attractiveness-charming smile with white teeth, his eloquence with wit, his sense of humour and other talents.

Balancing the popularity and acting is such a difficult thing like harmony normality with speciality. For the actor, mixing 2 things up is a hard job. So his recent popularity can be more precious. His somewhat oily lines and watery eyes, these were enough us to crush on him and Minchul. He did the role perfectly and we could confuse him with Minchul. We and BH all admitted that we can't forget his charming intelligent character. That would make him more pressured but his acting was great.

Free from the travel

Although 90% of his travels are for filming but he enjoys it. His travel plan is not so sophisticated. Just enjoy the feeling of free and seize the time. He just opens new experience and enjoys the small excitement from that. All he carries is sunglasses and a small bag.

His stubbornness

The same perfume for 10years tells his stubbornness. It's not a feeling of refusement to new things, it's more likely the stubborn not to take off his old things. Maybe he has make his own rules. Anyway he is doing the same job for 10years, the most difficult job.."acting".




The expectation and reliability for him

In Paris, far from Seoul for 11hours of flight, he was not free even in this strange place. Everywhere he goes, his fans were there recognized him. He went to Paris to feel free but the eyes for him didn't allow him. He could refuse it but he always met his fans with smile. Thanks to the movie JSA which are now releasing in Japan, some Japanese were among the fans. That is a good scene because hi was at the stardom in Japan also and we were glad to see that. For the actor LBH, Korea is small. Actually he attracted already some Asian countries. Before he visited to Paris, he had a meeting with Chinese director "Tang" and another director "Wang" requested to have a meeting. They must have also seen something special to his glittering eyes. However the seduction of "International" doesn't seem to affect him to select any work. If he regards it important, he couldn't act like that. He prefers the word "good actor" rather than "star" or "popular". Assuming he doesn't come to any talk show or interview, he knows the way to last as an actor. Anyway, he will decide his territory in a near future whether it is international or domestic. But one thing is clear; Reliability of Actor LBH doesn't change.
