Reasons Why Lee Joon Gi's New Drama

Just a week after its premiere, SBS’s new drama “Again My Life” has been gaining popularity for its intriguing storyline!

SBS’s “Again My Life” is about a young prosecutor who gets a second chance at justice after failing to bring down a powerful person. Lee Joon Gi stars as Kim Hee Woo, who was unjustly killed while investigating a corrupt politician but unexpectedly gets a second chance at life.

The drama’s April 8 premiere aired to No. 1 ratings and immediately saw a rise with its second episode. In addition to great viewership ratings, the drama and its star Lee Joon Gi ranked in the top three of Good Data Corporation’s weekly list of buzzworthy dramas and actors.

Although only one week into the drama’s run, here are three reasons why “Again My Life” is generating all this buzz!

Trustworthy actor Lee Joon Gi

To the point where “Again My Life” is said to be of the “Joon Gi genre,” right from the drama’s start, Lee Joon Gi impressively filled up the episode with his captivating acting. Additionally, Lee Joon Gi plays both a prosecutor and his own younger-counterpart from 15 years ago, earning praise from viewers such as, “He’s acting out even his age.”

In just the first two episodes, Lee Joon Gi has showcased a wide spectrum of emotions, starting with Kim Hee Woo’s detached feelings after dying an unjust death, to his perfect portrayal of the tears of relief that Kim Hee Woo shed when he gained a final opportunity to save his parents. In his second life, Lee Joon Gi charismatically demonstrates Kim Hee Woo’s determination to successfully punish evil.

Kim Hee Woo’s main quest: Destroying the villain’s inner circle

One specific aspect of “Again My Life” that has viewers hooked is the satisfaction gained from watching Kim Hee Woo’s mission unfold. In his second life, Kim Hee Woo is able to return to his life from 15 years ago – but with all of his current experience. Now that he’s equipped with the power of knowledge, Kim Hee Woo confidently sets off on his mission to destroy his enemy’s inner circle.

Kim Hee Woo returns to the past and changes fate by reviving his parents and saving the lives of Kim Han Mi (Rainbow’s Kim Jae Kyung) and Kim Kyu Ri (Hong Bi Ra). Through this, Kim Hee Woo starts a new life as he meets people that he never encountered in his first life, such as Kim Hee Ah (Kim Ji Eun) and Lee Min Soo (Jung Sang Hoon), who will also become his fateful partners in helping him take down his enemy Jo Tae Seob (Lee Kyung Young).

A definitive theory of good and evil, a fast-paced plot, and satisfying moments

As “Again My Life” follows the story of a second life and a passionate prosecutor seeking to punish evil, there is a clear separation of good and bad. Political magnate Jo Tae Seob is in the middle of a corrupt vested interest cartel and Kim Hee Woo wants nothing but to root out this corruption and show him what powerful justice truly is.

In the first episode, Kim Hee Woo is killed by Jo Tae Seob’s henchman but is quickly revived and able to restart his life from 15 years ago. With this quick pace, viewers were unable to look away for even a moment. The refreshing speed of the plot leaves no room for any frustration as Kim Hee Woo quickly moves through the phases of his dynamic mission.

“Again My Life” airs every Friday and Saturday at 10 p.m. KST.
