This is going to be my favorite thread for a while, haha
asianbebe, I love the color of your dress! I think I want a yellow dress for prom too... But then again, I want a dress that I can be able to wear again I hate the idea of spending $200+ on a dress that I'm never going to wear again... -------------------- |

How much did you get this dress for? Where did you get it? Is there a silver color for this dress? I got mine for $400~ at Metrotown (Vancouver) I honestly dont remember the store name and this was the only one APPARENTLY, it is from Paris. -------------------- |

I have a magazine sent to me FULL of prom dresses. It's from an actual store, too. So, when I get the chance, I'll scan them and post them up. =] The best thing about the store is that they will not sell your dress, color and style, to anyone else going to your school prom. =]

i got a dress similar to the ones you posted at JC penny's last year. it really does feel and look like a wedding dress.. i took pictures with my date and it was a little weird. (i'm on the one on the left) ![]() you should try a diff. color i have a question: i've always had the idea that you're supposed to wear a long dress to prom/ball, and short dresses to homecoming dances. is this true? Oh my goodness. Those are the prettiest dresses ive ever seen! |

oh crap! i'm poor~ and darm prom is coming up!
shoot~ i need to save up for a dress, but then i was like it should be opposite gender day, so guys will choose the dresses and wear that and girls will choose tuxes and wear that.. man, by doing it that way, my prom would be a prom to remember! lol.. but being serious, i need a dress too! -------------------- “Laughter is the brush that sweeps away the cobwebs of your heart.” |

The dresses on the site are the same dresses in the magazine sent to me. However, the magazine is from the store Trudy's in San Jose. No Mestads, but there sure is a Trudy's. =D If I wasn't getting my dress made, I would have gone to that store to check it out. |

![]() i absolutely love this dress and i found it on ebay but i hate buying online bc i cant try it on or feel the material or see it its comfortable or anything omg that is exactly the type of dress i was looking for ! does anyone know where to find a similar one? that's the dress i got my heart on.. i'm trying to decide whether or not i should get... since it's online and stuff. yeah same here... its also in uk sizes which im not too familiar with & from a company in china meaning.. overseas shipping.. but the price is okay. more than i have ever spent on a dress.. but still .. i wonder if i bring the picture in and get it made it would be really expensive? ![]() ![]() it would probably cost a lot to have it made. the straps are covered in diamonds. the dress is stretchy. it isn't made out of thin cheap material. you don't need to wear a bra underneath. i have this dress if any of you are interested in buying it. the brand is jovani and it cost around 500 dollars if i remember correctly. i wore it for a couple hours at prom last year. it's just been sitting in my closet. it's a size 2 but i spent about 100 dollars getting it altered because it was too big. anyways, if u buy this dress it's a guarantee you will spend more money to get it altered. i would have had to been about 6 feet tall to wear this dress. if any of you are interested in buying it from me at a discounted price or just have questions about the sizing don't hesitate to ask. |

a lot of you seem to be getting dresses made
where do you go to get them made? do you just like.. look for "dressmaker" or "seamstress" in the ..phone book.. or.. what? HAHA i know this may sound like a dumb question but its just rfeally hard to find things that fit me etc.etc. so im trying to see if getting it made is a good alternative thanks in advance, dohee -------------------- |

^I'm in a dance group and my choreographer/leader knows a lady who makes clothing and whatnots. She and another member of our group got their prom dresses made by her. We got our performance outfit made by her and last year I got my prom dress altered by her. So basically, she's someone I know and someone I'm familiar with in terms of quality and price. She's the person I'm getting my dress made from.
But, if you look up local places in your area, you can compare prices and whatnot. If anything, ask your friends/family if they know anyone that would be able to make dresses for you. You just have to really look around. |
