One of my favorite bands, so i decided to make them a thread--even though i doubt many are interested.

"Cursive is an indie rock band from Omaha, Nebraska, on Saddle Creek Records. Over the course of its eleven year existence, Cursive has been known for its off-center instrumentation, complex song structures, and emotionallyrics." -wikipedia

Tim Kasher : Lead vocals, guitar, piano
Matt Maginn : Bass guitar
Ted Stevens : Guitar, vocals
Clint Schnase : Drums, percussion

Former members
Gretta Cohn : Cello
Steve Pedersen : Guitar

You can listen to some of their songs on their myspace:
http://www.myspace.com/cursive
or thier offical website:

(click on 'downloads')

Some CD covers:

Domestica (2000)

Burst and Bloom EP (2002)

Art is Hard (2003)

The Ugly Organ (2003)

Happy Hollow (2006)

I was supposed to give this band a listen a while ago. Never happened.
ah-ha, I like the cover for The Ugly Organ, though. 'Tis cool.

Wanna suggest a song for... if I ever get around to listening?

I saw them live a few months ago and I was really impressed, I had high expectations anyways. Some songs I personally like are: Sierra, The Recluse (everyone's favorite), Art is Hard, The Lament of Pretty Baby etc etc. I think its Tim Kasher, but one of the members of cursive is married to one of the duo of Azure Ray. smile.gif just random knowledge.

i think they're a bit too loud for my tastes, but i liked "after the movies" immediately when i first listened to it.

well i'm not really fan of thier older stuff like 'after the movies.' i only like their music post Domestica.
you should give Sierra and The Recluse a try since theyre not 'loud'
i think you would like those songs since theyre very.. calm? not sure how to describe it

edit: and maybe, At Conception and Into the Fold

wow I did not know that... mellow.gif
I love Cursive - I think the first album I heard was domestica? I was obssessed with The Casualty for a while, I don't think I could ever get sick of it
The Rhyme Scheme, The Great Decay, The Martyr, Sucker & Dry, A Gentleman Caller, The Recluse...

I'm probably biased but I think any band from SC are worth the listen.
