Yup, only 19 and he's debuted with ambitions to overtake Jay. Great ambitions... I'm not sure if he will necessarily achieve them. But, whatever.
I think he's okay, but him and his violin is a bit excessive. Nonetheless, I do like a lot of his songs... I adore more than one on his album, 19. But crazy... after all, he composed all of his songs. He sounds a bit like Jay, but he's got his own distinct style. So, discuss EVAN YO. Anyways, I love him. Cute and talented, with a cute cute smile. Wait, so he had the ambitions of overtaking Jay or are people just comparing him? I never thought that it was himself that said he had the ambitions. I always just thought people were comparing him with Jay. To tell the truth, since he mentioned that he will take only 4 years to overtake jay chou instead of the 8 years Jacku Wu gave...I dislike him a great deal.

no offence but he wont make it big~~ he lacks the STAR thing~~
his vocals aren't that great.. and he doesn't have emotions when he sings~~ i dun feel anything~~ "wo ke yi" is an ok karaoke song ~ -------------------- |

Yeah.....I really don't think he will overthrows Jay or David Tao.
His voice is lacking and his breathing is kinda heavy >.< But I LOVE his song 'Simple'. The melody is quite cool. --------------------  |

My cousin was telling me about him recently!
I think people are saying he could be the next Jay Chou since he's under the same management as Jay? Or something like that. I'm also wondering why he's using Yo as his last name o_o. Edit: I just read in the other thread his name in Chinese was Tsai Min Yo, so I'm guessing he's using Yo from that... lol.

I just fell in love with him recently. I have to agree that he doesn't have the best vocals and that he isn't Jay-Leehom-David rolled into one. But, I think he's got potential. He can play the piano and the violin, and he's got a really cute smile. His debut album isn't all that great, but it's only his first, and I'm expecting a better one soon =)
At times, I think Jacky Wu's the one who's always boasting about how talented Evan is. On I Guess x 3, he always gives Evan a grand introduction and then goes on to tell the world how wonderful he is at music. But I guess that's just his way of promoting his artist. WEll I'm pretty sure he's at least 21 now...
The music was pretty well written for someone who was only 19 at the time... I think in time, he'll be able to compose really amazing songs. -------------------- Him's cute. I likes him. |

I don't think he could surpass David cuz David's voice is just too beautiful, smooth, and R&B-ish. But if he wants to surpass Jay and Lee Hom, I think he should stop with the over lovey dovey songs and compose songs more like Herbalist Manual and Beneath The Plum Blossoms.
