Artist: Feist
Album: The Reminder (2007)

1. So Sorry
2. I Feel It All
3. My Moon My Man
4. Park
5. Water
6. Sea Lion Woman
7. Past in Present
8. Limit to Your Love
9. 1234
10. Brandy Alexander
11. Intuition
12. Honey Honey
13. How My Heart Behaves

I was first introduced to Feist by her song Secret Heart from the Let It Die album which I found to be very sweet and endearing. Leslie Feist is a wonderful lyricist, and although there really isn't a comparison, if you enjoyed Regina Spektor's Begin to Hope album Feist's latest, The Reminder, won't disappoint you because they both fall into that indie-minded confessional pop. It isn't as pop/catchy as Spektor, but just as sentimental with exceptional lyrics and a delicate voice to carry it all through. There's also something here reminiscent of Cat Power (love her), which I'll attribute to the album's laid back, soft ballads.

The Reminder is officially set to release on May 1st.

Don't ask me how I was able to get my hands on the full album already. It was by pure luck.

I'm still listening through all the tracks, so I can't say a favorite yet... but I am enjoying 1234, Brandy Alexander, So Sorry, and How My Heart Behaves.

Yay! Another listener. ^^

Feist doesn't seem to be too well-known around these boards...

I love Let It Die:
'Secret Heart' got me hooked, and 'Inside and Out' is just wow (who knew you could twist a bee gees into something so wicked?). 'Gatekeeper', 'Mushaboom', 'Leisure Suite'... ...
Its an album you can really listen to on repeats, without skipping over any track.
I got that two years back, and I still play it all the time. (i sort of want to start this thread because 'Let It Die' brings back alot of memories: what another thread's topic is about- music and memories)

Open Season. I got that as a gift. It was pretty exciting. I had no expectations on remixes etc, but it was solid.

I like what i hear from The Reminder, so far:
even though i think the video to 'one two three four' is a bit gimmicky.

She is critics' darling now: got alot of press coverage, such as the super long article in New York Times earlier this month.
But the awesome-ness will stay.

The moment i heard her on Kings of Convenience's album, i knew i would love this voice for many years to come. (Still wanting to buy Monarch though)

Aww, I'm glad you made a thread about her because I love her voice. It's the best to just close your eyes and listen to. "Let it Die" is definitely my favorite song by her.

Was listening to Let It Die and Reminder for quite a bit the past few days. If I didn't catch one of their vids randomly on the telly, I wouldn't have known about them.

Feist is definitely amazing.
I love her in Broken Social Scene and her collabs with Kings of Convenience, but I have to say that I love her most on her own. Her vocals are so sweet & meshes with the dreamy quality of the songs really well.

Mushaboom (both the original and the Postal Service remix) are probably my favorites.

I'm eagerly waiting for the album to show up in the mailbox. Been a fan of Feist since I heard her "Let It Die" album came out; really like her voice. I really like "My Moon My Man" and "1234" and I'm sure the rest of her album will be good as well.

Now, if I can get some buddies to join me, perhaps I'll be able to catch her live in San Francisco this summer...

She's all right, nothing really special honestly.

!!!!!

i'm interested. why would you say so? music is really funny, you can really like something, while others dismiss the same singer easily.

"one man's trash is another's treasure". why?
