wow no offense but you're mum is so shallow
shouldn't she love you for the way you are? Since you're her daughter?
my parents are very against surgery

mmm i think you read too much into what i wrote sweatingbullets.gif
like when we watch movies or see someone in a magazine, my mom will kind of compare my nose to the models or actresses, and my nose is always a little flatter. and after many many years of comparisons, i begin to think that yeah, with a little surgery my nose will look just as high, but i wouldn't do it b/c in the end i like how i look.
i never said that my mom thought i was ugly! lol

I checked Dr Jung´s site and he´s quite expensive 4000-6000$. the same as in the states. but ozclinic (just goodle it) seems cheaper around 2000$. maybe we should collect the links to korean and other asian cliniq websites, so that everyone can compare ^^

Honestly I find the non-surgical nose job more inconvenient in the long-term. 'Cos if you want to 'maintain' it, in a way, you'll have to keep going back.

Yes I admit I definitely have considered cosmetic surgery for my nose a few times. It's fine when I smile slightly, but if I give a full-fledged smile/grin I feel it's too wide. My bridge is fine though, hahaa(:

Just bear with me a while longer xD

A while ago in Singapore they were airing this show called "Girls Out Loud", and basically these two female 'artistes', one was a popular/notorious blogger and the other a radio DJ, would go around Singapore doing really wacky things. They'd go shopping, learn how to "dance"...etc.

Then there was this episode where the blogger-girl got a nosejob, because she'd always wanted one and this television programme like, paid for her to do it and everything. Of course most of it was aired, and after watching it I thought 'hey cosmetic surgery really isn't that bad'.

Basically the doctor incised this really small incision (duhxD) at the tip of her nose, and he put in a custom-made nosebridge that would heighten her nose. Then he removed some flesh from the two sides of her nose to reduce its size, and stitched it back up. The entire operation took about 3 hours, I think.

Yup because of that I've been seriously contemplating getting one...
The only problem would be my parents though.
Any of you have encountered objectino from your parents? How did you convince them to let you do it?
(My parents are the sort who say 'you can only wear makeup once you're an adult' kind of people)

you have to be sure yourself first. what your parents think is not important, until you yourself know what you want. the question is how long have you been wanting surgery (if for less than 6 months, think about it again). if you´ve considered it for years and you know about the risks and have realistic ideas (on how your nose is supposed to look) then you should try to persuade your parents. tell them, that you´ve thought about it and that you´re really serious. however if you´re really young, just wait until you´re at least 16 and maybe that you can pay for it on your own. i know many of us do it, but if it´s something like plastic surgery (nothing that you really need to survive) you shouldn´t depend on your parents, but save money on your own, look for a parttimejob, so you pay for it yourself. this way noone can noone can critisizes you and you´ve really deserved it. just my view on things ^^

i researched this with my friend, so i think i´ll share. please it would be nice, if everyone could share other clinics and experiences with us.

Oz Clinic
before/after examples

doctort said to have good english. prices range from 1100$-3500$.

BK Clinic

the most famous here on soompi. that´s where the celebs go or so people say. you can send in your pictures for online consultation. also good english.

Nose Clinic
the clinic everyone praises, because Dr. Jung´s noses are so perfect. prices are high 3500-6000$

Iaan Clinic

Cindy Clinic

Bimam Clinic

i was curious.....

what is the worst thing that could ever happen to someone who went for a nice job? as in, are there any long term effects??

i told my granny the other day that i want to get a nose job and then she started telling me about a distant aunt of mine who got a nose job about a decade ago i guess..and her nose now is a horrible sight.....i think i got really confused after listening to her....i want to have a nicer nose....higher nose bridge and not so-flaring tip..because mine was like wide and flat....

and.....can you go swimming after getting a nose job????

it´s because back then the medical techniques weren´t advanced enough. michael jackson is the best example. his nose completely broke down and had to be fixed by an expert surgeon. nowadays, if you go to a good surgeon, who uses organic materials (like own cartilage etc and not silithcone) there is no risk for your nose to break down after a few years. however, there are always risks when you undergo surgery. you never know what might happen to you and your health. so think about it.

you´re not allowed to do sports for at least 3 months.

lilpinkhearts: you can use the permanent nonsurgical nosejob. no need to go back then

i wish my nose was a little higher. but i would NEVER EVER IN MY LIFE get surgery on it, or think of getting it. i don't know, people should just accept the way they look.

i've been wanting to fix my nose since forever, i really hate (well i guess not hate) but dislike my flat nose. it really sucks though because i'm a senior in hs and have no money bc my parents won't let me work so if i want surgery, i'd have to wait for my parents to give me money. And they won't let me get surgery until after college!

T_T

edit: omg the youtube video, why didn't she fall asleep? lol
it looks so scary!!

so ...if in that case, that means that once i got a nose job *hopefully a nice one* that'll be nothing wrong gonna happen to me if i take good care of it ??* minus accidents and stuffs lyk that of coz*

and about the permanent non-surgical nose job, would we be getting the same result lyk the surgery one?

sorry if i asked too much.......*blushing*

about the risks, i copied this from Dr. Bermant´s site.

QUOTE
All surgery carries some uncertainty and risk
When rhinoplasty is performed by a qualified plastic surgeon, complications are infrequent and usually minor. Nevertheless, there is always a possibility of complications, including infection, nosebleed, or a reaction to the anesthesia. You can reduce your risks by closely following Dr. Bermant's instructions both before and after surgery.

After surgery, small burst blood vessels may appear as tiny red spots on the skin's surface; these are usually minor but may be permanent. As for scarring, when rhinoplasty is performed from inside the nose, there is no visible scarring at all; when an "open" technique is used, or when the procedure calls for the narrowing of flared nostrils, the small scars on the base of the nose are usually not visible. Other scars near the bridge of the nose can come from sculpture of the nasal bones from an external approach. Take a look at the many photographs on this site, these patients show the subtle scars from these approaches by Dr. Bermant.

Occasionally a second procedure may be required-for example, to correct a minor deformity. Such cases are unpredictable and happen even to patients of the most skilled surgeons. The corrective surgery is usually minor.

.

about the nonsurgical nosejob: it can get the same result as the real nosejob depending on what you need to have done. you need to know, that a nonsurgical nosejob means that "volume" (which means height) can be added to your nose by injecting a filler. but of course (since there is no cutting etc. involved) it can´t take away volume. so that means, you nose can only get taller with it. it can´t make your nose thinner or less wide etc.

if you just want a more defined nose with a taller nosebridge + pointy tip. the nonsurgical nosejob would be ideal. but if you have a wide nose and want it thinned out, it´s not possible.

you will get anesthetics, but of course it will hurt. they need to cut your nose up, so how can it not hurt ^^ and it´ll feel very unconfortable the first weeks.

who is dr. jung and where does he do the nose jobs? O__O

for me, I don't really mind the money and the pain (if there are any discomforts afterwards)
... as long as it comes out what I expect.

I really like min hyo rin's nose....but it's TOO perfect.

Eh I don't really like Min Hyo Rin's nose - it might be tall and thin, but it just doesn't look good...of course, that might just be because of her face, because I don't really think she's that pretty.

he´s a nose surgeon in korea. if you go back a few pages you´ll see a link to his website. it´s nose.co.kr or something, i´m not sure.

it´s probably impossible to get min hyorin´s or any other celeb´s nose... well, it depends on your current noseshape. you have to be realistic. you nose can be a tad taller and pointer and thinner, but it can´t change completely (or it´ll look really fake). just take a look at the before/after photo provided on the clinic´s websites and you´ll see what i mean.

i heard there are A LOT of ppl who have serious side effects, but cases like these are never revealed to the public.
i kno one person who only got "botox" on her forehead and she's having headaches/migraines all the time. its only botox too.
i've seen documentaries on rhinoplasty and there are some ppl who become paralyzed on some parts of the faces/brains.

juss sayin this to warn u... id on't want ne of yall getting side effects
