Are you sure you didn't do something to your nail or something? I never heard of this before.

Yep, malnutrition.
Your nails are made of recycled blood cells and the white parts are the dead white blood cells. Just eat more healthy food and eat regularly. I get a few of them from time to time as well, especially when I skip meals such as breakfast. -------------------- |

it's called Leukonychia
STOP WORRYING!! this is not due to malnutrition or too little calcium. so don't freak out. it's most likely due to damage to the martrix (plate of the nail), it's nothing.. it will go away as your nail grows and repair by itself the worst could be because of zinc deficiency.. i really doubt that. yeah, i'm going to be a great manicurist one day. LOL! destinedisaster00: the nail bed is under the nail.. lol. xD ^ normal, does not mean your suffering from malnutrition or lacking calcium ![]() ^ zinc deficiency, go to a doctor.. start taking zinc supplements -------------------- |

I only get these on my right hand.
Which I guess makes sense because I'm right-handed, use it more. |

Trauma to the nail bed. I used to have TONS of them when I worked as a cashier and I was always hurting my hands, but after I quit they stopped.

HEY i thought it was from malnutrition too!
BUT my idiot friend And if you get it on your middle finger, you are genuinely happy and satisfied with your life. (And she was being serious about it) So I believed her and i got excited when i got it on my ring finger hahah. Anyways I researched it and it's due to maltnutrition, you need more calcium, something like that. |
