Jam Loey Rak (Defendant of Love)  Notice: I haven’t watched Lakorn (Thai Drama) for years. But I happened to read the novel (this drama was based on a novel under the same title) many years ago and see the teaser of this drama before it was on air. So, I was kinda interested to watch it. This drama has been re-remade more than three times (Interesting isn’t it? But Thais really like to re-make dramas hehe) I missed a couple of early episodes so I looked for the video in youtube and found tons of it. Luckily, I came across the one that has an English subtitle. So justwant to share it with people who want to try Thai drama. This drama is what I call ‘typical Lakorn’ because of its storyline. But just for entertaining, you can check it out!  First broadcast: Jan 1, 2008 Broadcast Times: Monday, Tuesday Episode: 14 Synopsis Hirit Rangsiman, the pearl farm's owner in the south of Thailand, is very angry and vengeful after Harin, his only younger brother commit suicide because Sansanee, Harin girlfriend, breaks up with him. Harit wants to take vengeance on a girl who cause his brother's death, so he kidnaps her to torture, but he doesn't know that a girl who he kidnaps is Soraya, Sansanee's cousin. He still believe that Soraya is Sansanee no matter how Soraya tries to tell him. Soraya wants to repay her debt of gratitude to Sansanee because Sansanee used to save her life from drowning, so she accept this punishment instead of her beloved cousin. However, they irresistibly fall in love with each other at last. (credit to http://wasashimi.blogspot.com/) Cast/Character info: Atichart Chumnanont (Aum) as Harit  A late twenty-year-old son of a business man in the south of Thailand. He was studying abroad but had to come back to Thailand to look after his younger brother because of their father’s sudden death. He ran the pearl farm on an island and was a supporter for the villagers who lived around. Because of his great love to his brother, Harit took revenge on a girl who broke his brother’s heart. Even though he looked unkind, hard-heart, stubborn outside, but inside he had a hidden tenderness. After realizing that he had kidnapped a wrong girl, it was almost too late because he had alreadly fallen in love with her. Taksaorn Paksukcharoen (Aff) as Soraya  A twenty-two-year-old fatherless village girl. She was brought up by her aunt and uncle-in-law. She grew up with Sansanee, her cousin. Because of the gratitude to her relatives and cousin to raise her, Soraya set her heart on accepting the punishment from Herit instead of her cousin. With the courage and bravery, she always tried to escape from confinement. Rilanee Sripen (Joy) as Sansanee  A twenty-four-year-old attractive woman. She felt that Soraya, her cousin, took the love of her parents and other people. So, she has been secretly envied Soraya. The more Soraya was loved by others, the more she was jealous. Chatayodom Hiranyatsathiti (Chai) as Tawaschai  An early thirty-year-old rich business man. He was a man-in-a-dream of every woman in the city. He was truly in love with Sansanee but his formal lover didn’t let him go. wow, this lakorn is very popular its even here...hahah...i'm feeling it too...i've seen all the episodes so far and i am so in love with it!! the couple is probably the best thai couple i've seen in a very very very very very....long time hahahaha
 this lakorn has kinda turned into an obsession. love this couple!!!! this lakorn makes me want to have a pearl farm of my own!!!

It seems to me nice specially the lead actor is so HOT .. but it has the same idea as the korean drama a love to kill..

I really like this couple. They kinda have some chemistry. I wish they would work together in the future project. Me too, I addicted to this drama. I have to be in front of the TV every Monday and Tuesday. LOL the location is soooo beautiful. I don't know what island they shot this drama. But it really beautiful and I want to visit it someday. This drama kinda makes me see the development of the Lakorn. The production is pretty good. They were paying more attention to the detail. And the script is kinda improve too. It's compact and straight forward, unlike dragging line like typical old lakorn. Thank so much for the pics. It's very nice. Awww.... The only part which the two dramas are the same is the male lead wanted to take revenge on the female lead because of the death of his brother. But the rest is totally different. As I said this drama is 'typical Thai lakorn.' It's not deep but you can enjoy just watching it without thinking anything. Plus it includes r scene. LOL  |

OMG! Jam Loey Ruk thread at here! I'm soooooo into this lakorn now too...
It's very addictive for me...God! I love this couple too...They have such a good chemistry. Hope to see them more in the other drama... Yes...as I know ..this drama is remaking....The first one making is about 20-25 years ago...LOL If anyone haven't seen it ... Wow, finally a thread for this great lakorn. For some unknown reasons, this lakorn is causing a major jungle fever over at sarnworld and the people there are just too hilarious. Seriously, first I was just watching this lakorn because the plot seems interesting but after visiting the "Jam Loey Rak" thread in sarnworld.com, I seem to catch the fever and now I am so crazy over it. Not to give too much information away, the plot by itself reminds me of those early '80 bodice ripper romance novels, or those written by johanna lindsay, C. Coulter, etc, authors that write mostly about alpha hero. The hero in this lakorn is a big time sadist. For those who are not used to watching lakorn, they might get turned off at how the heroine gets treated by the hero. Nonetheless, I just love the bickerings between the two main characters and now that the girl is back in the city, I just can not wait to see what the hero will do to get the girl back. I agree that the island used to shoot this lakorn is beautiful. Ahhh, an isolated island with just them two, isn't it great, too bad there is also Bai and Boontai. Interesting enough, the main theme song goes so well with the whole storyline. I wonder if they composed this song just for this lakorn. The ending song is also pretty good. Enough said, people really should go to wishboniko channel and watch this great lakorn.

it does remind me of korean dramas minus the cancer. I thought it was really annoying at first because he was just basically keeping her captive and she was unhappy. but later on I liked it.

For people who are familiar with 'Lakorn', they might get turned off by the way the story goes (with all revenges and threat). But I like the chemistry between the hero and heroin. This drama is kinda popular in Thai discussion board too. They have a live discussion while it is airing. The main theme song was composed for this drama. I think it was composed long time ago. I remember it was used in the older version of this drama. I think most of Thais can sing it cuz it was so catching. LOL Anyway, I just re-read the novel. And you know what. In the novel Harit's father was kill in the battle field of World War II in 1941. Then Harit was 15 years old!!! So, technically he's 82 years old now!!! This novel was written a long long time ago. But every time it was re-made as a drama or movie, it's kinda big hit. Real timeless classic.
