Guest Pandaa012
DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO WHITEN CROWNS/ VENEERS?? my friend really wants to whiten her teeth but her two front teeth are crowns/veneers.. im not sure. so i was wondering if there are anyways to whiten them, besides going to the dentist to replace them, whether theyre home remedies or something else. THANKS ALOT!! ---------------------------------------------edit--------------------------------------------------- ok seriously, i wrote "BESIDES GOING TO THE DENTIST" for a reason!! my friend isnt rich and her parents arent gonna waste that much money to replace her crown/veneers so thats why im trying to figure out if there is a way to just whiten them. she knows the fastest way to get them whitened is to go to the dentist but she cant so please dont state the obvious. thank you! Guest ForeverBlue
Try baking soda i know it's gross but it works it won't work instantly but using it with tootpaste and brushing your teeth with it will work after a few days. Or if you can't stand the taste then theres some "advanced white" toothpaste and contains arm and hammer (baking soda) and that works too and it doesn't taste gross
Lavender.Sky
^ if you use baking soda A LOT it'll damage your teeth - so don't use it a lot can't you use normal whitening strips for those teeth/ o_o
Guest __XOXO
i've heard the swishing a small amount of hydrogen peroxide whitens teeth. i've never done it though, but it's gotten good reviews on makeupalley. just make sure you don't swallon it,
Guest rhaize
She asking about a veneer and crowns, which are not real teeth :/ I'd go ask a dentist. I have one but its in the back, so not really a problem.
Guest cha4onda
those whitening treatments won't work with crowns or veneers. unless, its just a surface stain, your friend is stuck with that crown's tooth shade. but u never know, the shade difference might not even be that noticeable if she did decide to whiten her natural teeth. Guest larojiblanca
Just buy a box (or even a few sample packs) of Crest Whitestrips on eBay...they're so cheap. I bought a box two years ago, used about 6 or 7 of them and my teeth are still white today.
Guest kpxkimcheexyoja
steps to whitening crowns/veneers: 1) get in your car 2) drive to the dentist's office that did the crowns 3) pay a buttload of money for them to replace the crowns honestly, it depends on how old the crowns are. if she had them done recently (like a few weeks or so) and the dentist is a decent guy/girl. there's only one way to change the shade of a crown or veneer, and that involves sending it back to the dental lab from whence it came to have them do a shade change. since the crowns aren't damaged, and there's no decay under the teeth, insurance won't cover the replacement, so the price is at the dentist's discretion. and this is why i make sure patients are at a comfortable shade BEFORE they get front teeth crowned. Guest michinaru
I don't think it would be a good idea to try and whiten her crowns/veneers herself O_O You'll take a risk of damaging them... Maybe she could try to sav eup money and then go to the dentist for help?
Guest Imboredthatsnotfun
Something I found on makeupalley after searching "Extra Virgin Coconut Oil" I can't find it but It said along the lines of "coconut oil as a mouth rinse can be used for teeth whitening. Just melt some and swig it around in your mouth for around 5~20 minutes (I know, I thought this seemed like ages too.) and within 1-2 weeks you won't believe it! I found this also: I want to thank the reviewer who recomended this as a mouth rinse. I'm doing this for over three weeks now and my teeth became so white! I couldn't believe my eyes at the beginning. It seemed too good to be true but it's not! Not sure if it's better than proffessional bleaching, but definitely better than whitening toothpastes. And so gentle and tastes great. Everyone should try this!

0rchid
use strawberries! The secret to this inexpensive home whitening method is malic acid, which acts as an astringent to remove surface discoloration. Combined with baking soda, strawberries become a natural tooth-cleanser, buffing away stains from coffee, red wine, and dark sodas. While it’s no replacement for a bleaching treatment at your dentist’s office, “this is a fast, cheap way to brighten your smile,” says Adina Carrel, DMD, a dentist in private practice at Manhattan Dental Arts in New York. “Be careful not to use this too often, though, as the acid could damage the enamel on your teeth.” You need: 1 ripe strawberry 1/2 teaspoon baking soda Directions: Crush the strawberry to a pulp, then mix with the baking powder until blended. Use a soft toothbrush to spread the mixture onto your teeth. Leave on for 5 minutes, then brush thoroughly with toothpaste to remove the berry–baking soda mix. Rinse. (A little floss will help get rid of any strawberry seeds.) Carrel says you can apply once a week.

Guest kikkie
All of the advice given here are great for NATURAL TEETH. Veneers are made the color they are, you can't just bleach them out. The only way to get the veneers to whiten is to remake them all over again.
