last year was the best. all of them had their own thing and they clearly knew what their asthetic is. during the fashion show at bryant park, jerrels collection was very messy. i think he deserved the boot.

the wedding gowns... i liked kenley's but yes, it looked like the alexander mcqueen gown. wait, didnt kenley said she doesnt follow other designers???




with leanne.. her gown was beautiful but looking at it too much, makes me think of marshmallow. what i would comment about her is she overdoes her signature pleats. its too much.. but it still was beautifully crafted.

Woah damn, it seriously does look like Alexander Mcqueen's gown... She certainly lied about not using other designs to inspire her own..

wayyy before the most recent episode aired bravo posted up the final collections (which is totally dumb because it just ruins the surprise...well in this case more of a yawn)

when i saw kenley's final collection dress at that time the mcqueen dress immediately popped out from my mind. i don't think it's an exact copy, more like a hybrid of two of his dresses (the tulle volume a-line skirt of one plus the feather bust detail of the other) as much as i don't enjoy kenley (i don't enjoy anyone this season) i feel somewhat bad for her because people keep isolating her and talking smack about her. of course she is really cocky and she has traits that are unappealing but some of her final runway designs are actually pretty good. compared to what jarell did and others, i immediately knew that kenley, lianne, and korto were going to be in the top three. their collections were by far the better of the six designers that actually showed at bryant park (yes, suede and joe made a collection. what a waste of fabric. it was just bad.)

maybe PR's move to lifetime will give some good designers. oh well, it was a good show at one point.

So since PR 5 is about to end. Which clothing piece, that any of the designers made, did YOU think was the best? The one that stood out. The one you could not forget.

I myself still remember the seatbelt jacket that Korto made. It was beautiful and so chique! (on tv at least)


On a sidenote, the recap photos on the official PR site of each challenge are so NOT flattering. I don't know if the models had (many) bad days or that the photographer was just horrible. You'd think they'd take a little bit more effort in showing the clothes on the website.

I agree with you there. Kenley pissed the hell out of me at times but I felt bad for her when she was always left out...and when she said she has always dealt with that her whole life. I dont know just makes me kinda sad =(
Btw I dont get why the other 3 designers (suede etc) also got to show their collection? what the hell? i thought they were fightin to be top 3 to show their collection at bryant park but if the other contestants who were eliminated earlier could also do that then whats the point o.o well of course the top 3 got to be on TV but they keep stressin how great it is to be at bryant park etc ;_;

personally, i think this is the worst season of PR. but since i'm abg fan of the show, i can't help myself but to watch every single episode. i gotta say, after seeing the final collection i think Leanne can be the winner. Kenley's attitude suck but her final collection wasn't that bad.

me too. i was looking forward to this season so much but it got more and more boring
i guess with so many amazing outfits (CHRISTIAN SRIANO!) created last season, i was expecting a LOT more

I'm not a huge fan of this show, so I can't compare it to the others.
anyways, I can't stand Kenley with a passion. why is she still around? all she can do is design stuff from the 50's. she better not win.

I'm all for Lean. You think about past winner's and most of their collections don't really have a motif. It's mostly "oh avante garde fierce classy chic blah blah blah". Lean's style is so - precise and defined. She almost seems like an architect with the way she designs. And her wedding gown was O_o. A lot of thought was put into it, just look at the structure and details, it captures the flow and movement of waves. just wonderful.

kenley's gown was a deadringer to mcqueen's. she should be a bit more observant of the trends.

As much as Kenley is annoying, she's extremely talented and I think that's a fact people will just have to deal with. Sure, she draws her inspiration from the 50's, but I do not think it is fair to argue that because her design is repetitive she doesn't deserve to be at Fashion week. I'm a huge fan of Leanne's but she too sticks to a very strict design structure and if the argument holds that Kenley is repetitive in her design, so is Leanne. I wasn't surprise by her collection at all. Don't get me wrong, I love it, but I wasn't surprise by it.

I'm calling Leanne for the win, but Kenley had some wonderful pieces.

People just have to understand that sometimes brilliant people are a-holes and that they suck at listening (not that they shouldn't work on that). We've seen many of them on Project Runway: Jeffrey, Santino (whom I love), KENLEY. AND everyone's been talking about how Kenley's wedding dress reminds them of Alexander McQueen, don't you guys think Leanne's structural elements are similar to some of Versace's Spring 2009 line? In both, there's a lot of architectural influences and dresses that were sculpted to form a tiny waist and skirts that were pleated and folded to create drama. Which just makes me ask: is it reallllly that innovative?

And it wasn't JUST the final collection. She's been making BEAUTIFUL garments throughout season 5, she's definitely been the most consistent out of everyone.

every season project runway gets better and better.. the highlight at season 4 in my opinion
but this one just stepped back down a notch
none of the collections blew me away like it did with the other seasons
i did not like season 1
season 2.. dilemma between chloe and daniel
season 3.. dilemma between uli and jeffery
season 4.. dilemma between christian and rami
season 5.. ??? all was blah =P

i LOVE leanne's collection but when you think about it compared to all the past finalist and winners... hers just doesn't stand out as much

agreed. this season was not as exciting as the others... the designers just weren't so.. creative? like every challenge had a LOT of let-downs and stuff.. </3

my fav season was the 2nd one! that was soo hot (: (&i love daniel, he's so cute.. why are all the cute ones gay?)
