First- I know there's a similar Japanese Music Recommendation Thread... but it's not JRock so I decided to make my own..
But go ahead and close if it's too similar to something else out there! ^^; I'm new to J-Rock- well duh xD- but I was wondering if anyone could recommend their favorite bands... I'm interested in all or most JRock, but I currently listen to songs like these: Nightmare- Alumina: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1yo65RFCDpw Glay- Verb: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1BBwoaN-AJg I'll take all suggestions though! :] |

I'm trying not to repeat any bands that have already been recommended, but definitely try out the GazettE. I'm assuming that you're not just looking for visual kei bands.
ONE OK ROCK - Et Cetera, someone else recommended Keep it real which is also good Matenrou Opera - alkaloid showcase, honey drop Versailles - The Love From a Dead Orchestra If you like Versailles, you can also try Lareine, a band that Versailles' vocalist Kamjio was formerly in. Janne Da Arc - Carnation, Vampire Plastic Tree - Namida Drop, Snowflower MUCC - Libra, Ryuusei -------------------- icon made by; aiongaku

SID!!!11!!!!1!!1!!! They have awesome songs!!!
-Re:Dreamer -Natsukoi -Ajisai -Alibi -Otegami -Izon no Niwa -Sweet? -Smile -Mitsuyubi You'll love it. They have a touch of jazz style but still jrock-ish. Mao's voice (vocalist) is so soothing and he can sing so well. -------------------- |

I used to listen to a lot of J-rock back in during my early high school days, so I'm not too familiar with some of the newer bands. But I've always wanted the chance to recommend Janne Da Arc, one of the first bands I ever got into. I rarely ever see them being mentioned in threads like this one, so I was surprised to see their name up there; maybe people just don't like them, but please give them a try. :]
Janne Da Arc - Lunatic Gate, HEAVEN, Mobius, Neo Venus, Mysterious, Dry?, Kasumi Yuku Sora Sei ni mini coopere, 7-seven-, etc. Acid Black Cherry - Yasu's (from JDA) side band High and Mighty Color Glay Luna Sea L'Arc~en~ciel -------------------- |

If you haven't listened to Luna Sea and X-Japan, you should try it. If you like gothic style, try Malice Mizer and Gackt. If you want some pop rock, try Uverworld and Glay.
