My head is spinning from all this news of lawsuits and disbandment. With a lot of stories coming out it’s hard to discern what are the facts and just pure speculation. I just hope that this matter will be settled amicably without leading to the group’s disbandment. That will be so heartbreaking…. I hope the boys will make a statement to clarify this matter and end all speculations.

Anyways, all these are healthy discussions, since all of us care about the boys despite having different POVs but i think we all need a little breather, too..

Its hard not to go barzurk over this news though, everyone on here are constantly on their feet, trying to grab on as much info as they can. misshakissh had already provided translations regarding the thoughts of Korean Cassiopeias about this matter. I woke up to find news bout the boys activities and came to this. Me mind was seriously in swirls at what I was reading. But dang, I can see how things can get really blown out of proportions to make fans confused at what to believe. Especially what one chooses to translate and how it is translated.

Follow up #3:
SM Entertainment has released their official stand on the case.

They said on 1st August morning, “It is true that Xiah, Hero and Micky made the application for provisional disposition to terminate the exclusive rights effects from their contract on 31st July at the district court. With that the company is very taken back by the action, we are trying to get confirm all the truth from them currently. “

They continued, “But as a representative group to the country and to Asia, our stand is that activities for Dong Bang Shin Ki have to continue even with this disposition application. And about the problems arising from the discussion to do a cosmetic entreprise, we plan to talk over them and sort out the problems as soon as possible.”

It has been know that members YunHo and ChangMin has decided not to take part in this lawsuit. Both of them are currently preparing for their drama debut this September and year-end.

so it has alot to do with the CreBeau thing. and MinHo have their drama contracts so i guess maybe thats why they are not a part of it. so DBSK activities will continue amidst all this. I hope it gets resolved soon and quiet frankly idc what ent company DBSK is from i just want them to stay together and if SM does ever drop them any other ent company would take them in a heartbeat. lets hope it a ll gets figured and they get new fair contracts.

That's the impression I was getting. That there was conflict with a section of their contract that didn't exactly comply with their own business ventures (or maybe the contents of what they were actually signing into that had SM step in to question it. Cuz from what I've read here, SM seemed fined with it but upon realizing everything else that was attached to this business, it concerned them and their contract as well.
So I figured that that's what they have been trying to negotiate and fix. Then for whatever reasons, be it true or not, that the contents of their own 'slave contract' was also brought up-which brought to this belief that they are disbanding.

3.Sm.Ent will in the end have to listen to DBSK. Reason? it's by a fan who is a lawyer (cassie). --> IF DBSK was to come out of SM ent to move to a different company, the huge hit SM.ent will face from AVEX is beyond imaginable. because AVEX and SM are linked. IF DBSk get's out of Sm. it means they will end contract with AVEX as well. Dbsk is literally making huge money for AVEx if not all of it from their fan base which hit like 120,300 well that's the last ticket number the newest bigeast fan got (Ameblo japan site), concert, goods. DBsk has the biggest number of fanclub members in avex. The money flowing in through avex and dbsk's popularity in japan cannot be ignored. avex will be pissed at sm. so will the commercial deals that dbsk has in japan (2) will be lost. Avex deals with dbsk's commercials. if dbsk breaks with sm. they break with avex. break with avex, cf deal contracts are done for. avex will be sued by the cf brands,,,avex lose money. avex will also have to deal with lawsuit with the two commercial companies, avex will sue sm.ent. and domino breaks from there. so SMENT will in the end have to negotiate to fix the contract with dbsk. thats what DBSK wants, its a GOOOOOOOD CHANCE FOR DBSK. . it happened to SMAP as well back in the days. these aren't new. it's just getting a bigger media attention because its DBSK.

DBSK KNOWS THIS. They are the only idol group out there that has this much power to do this. that's why they are using the chance to fix their contracts "slave contracts" they will succeed obviously. It's so obvious because of the domino affect with the 2 linked companies. DBSk is going to help change slave contracts in korea with all idols. Another history. like always they are the first sunbaes. you guys have to trust them. It's NOT a big deal. It's NOT them breaking up. Cassies knows this. they've already sent out a letter to bigeast fans assuring them its not a big deal.

SM.ent is trying to make the 3 members look bad with their cosmetic line as well. and not using media attention to promote the Tokyo Dome Concerts ( have u noticed there weren't many tokyo dome news out about dbsk in korea? Sm.ent doesnt want to show how much dbsk's power and influence they have right now. Usually the atmosphere of fans to these types of news (or any for that matter) are total opposites when you're getting news directly in your own country and language vs. overseas with fans of no knowledge of the language(like myself) . Having such a big fanbase like TVXQ's makes things spread like a wildfire, be it good and bad. I'll breathe a sigh of relief for now and hope that the next crazy page jumps in this thread is to finalize the news that everything is OK.

Thanks to everyone who's been updating and giving us a piece of mind that what most fans fear the most for the group is not true.

So I woke up this morning just like everyone else- thinking everything would be normal. I checked the website I go to for news about DBSK, and saw the article. I immediately panicked and ran over to soompi forums to see what everyone was saying, and I've read it all through now... Even though I just registered today, I hope people won't criticize me for that. I like to read over people's posts but don't often have the time to say things, so I never saw the need to register before this. Anyway, here is my take on everything:


I am a relatively new fan, but an extremely devoted one as well. I only came across DBSK halfway through May, so for me to hear that everything might be over breaks my heart. I feel bad for really old fans, who have been devoted to DBSK for so long, but it seems like my time has barely begun. That being said, I DO NOT think DBSK is breaking up or that they will break up over this. They are amazing friends, just like brothers, and they haven't faked that. I believe that they never lied to fans; lying is saying something you know isn't true. And I think they meant every word they have ever said. DBSK are good people and give so much to everyone. I will always support them, no matter what. They will forever be first in my heart. <3


I don't know what the truth is here, none of us really do. But if Jaejoong, Yoochun and Junsu felt the need to take this step, then I support them 100%. Even if I personally thought it was a mistake (which I don't), I would still support them. They have the right to do as they please. So many times I have seen fans worry about the boys, saying they are eating enough and need more rest. Where is that love now? Why are you abandoning all hope in the boys? Even if they're wrong... don't you trust that they think they're doing what's right?


We ALL love DBSK. I think it's safe to say none of us ever want to see them split up. But sometimes they need to think of themselves, too. You can't be angry at them for this, not after all they've done for us fans. People often say that DBSK is like a King and Cassiopeia is their Queen. We support each other. We give to each other, and that's what makes us successful. What kind of a Queen doubts her King? We must trust them and support them, even if we don't like it.


More than anything, I want to see my boys be happy. Yes, I want them to stay together, but not if they're unhappy. I could never ask that of them. So please hope for their happiness, and keep it in mind.


Because I don't know the real truth, I can't really say who is in the "right" here legally. But it seems to me that the boys have a right to be happy. Everyone knows that SM Entertainment is, at the very least, a bit restrictive. It was only recently that the boys mentioned that SME told them they are now allowed to date, and even encouraged it for their image! That's not right for them to restrict the members' personal lives like that- they are grown men now, for crying out loud! I want the boys to be able to have more say in what they do, too. SME decides their schedule, THEY say when the boys get vacation, and what interviews they have to do, etc. I want DBSK to be able to pick their songs, image, and everything else.


For SM Entertainment to assign them "images" is a bit horrible. Sure, lots of celebrities have them, but at least they get to pick. Just knowing how many times JJ had to be silent when he wanted to say something breaks my heart. They should not be restricted in this way. I also think the business thing is a huge problem. If they want to take up an outside enterprise on their own to pursue their goals WITHOUT the help of SM, they should be able to do so, and they should be allowed to keep EVERYTHING they earn from it.


Some people have mentioned everything that SM did for DBSK, and I agree with them. They gave our boys a chance when they were nobody, they helped them to achieve these high dreams of theirs. But they didn't do all of the work, DBSK did a lot, too. I think we can all agree that the members are some of the hardest working people on this planet. They truly earned everything they have now. They went on diets, worked out, changed their looks, even changed their image. They spend hours practising everything from singing to dancing to speaking. They do interview after interview, photoshoot after photoshoot, game show after game show. They put in their blood, sweat, and tears for this. They gave their faces, bodies, voices, time, effort, privacy, personal desires... everything. They spent hours and hours studying Japanese and trying to pick up other languages.


DBSK is not just the faces- they are also the arms, legs, bodies, voices, minds, hearts, and souls of everything. They are the PEOPLE.


No, they didn't do it on their own. But they gave more in this short time than many artists give EVER. And they have never been anything less than completely faithful to Cassiopeia. We cannot ask for any more than what they have given us.


Everyone has said that Allkpop is not a reliable source. But if SM Entertainment did, in fact, put ANY sort of pressure on my sweet little innocent Junsu, well... let's just say that I can't be held responsible for my actions. They have NO RIGHT to bully their artists like that. I don't care what's in the contract- that is just plain WRONG.


Personally, I think the pay split is ridiculous. 2:8?!! SERIOUSLY?!?!? They deserve more than that. Maybe they are still making really good money, but it's about the principle. Imagine if the U.S. government tried to take that much in taxes! People would most definitely rebel. Especially when it then has to be split among them, and if that's after expenses. Sure, SM forks out a lot to make the concerts so fantastic and to pay all the staff, but I highly doubt it's anywhere NEAR that amount. I'm sure each and every concert more than pays for itself. I think most of the money goes to fund new "projects"- new groups who aren't making any money yet. If SM Entertainment wants to spend their money on new recruits, that's fine, but DBSK shouldn't be the ones to pay for it. It's only right that they be paid what they are due.


In all reality, I hope they all leave SM Entertainment. I know it would be really hard for them, but I think they have the talent, determination, and support to pull it off. I'm sure SM would be very upset and would try to stop DBSK at every turn. They'd drop them like a hot potato and spend extra money promoting a different group, like Super Junior, in the hopes that everyone would forget our beloved DBSK. But even despite all that, I think DBSK is stronger. Someday in the future, I hope DBSK can own their own label, just like SM. They can manage themselves and have the freedom they deserve. I could honestly see them all being involved- Micky writing and composing songs, as well as arranging them, Jaejoong overseeing the voice lessons, Yunho choreographing stuff, Max managing everything, and Junsu... Well, Junsu could really do anything. To be honest, all of them could do all of those things. I feel that they would be great leaders, and be kind and caring towards the groups they managed. I think they would pay others fairly, and I think they could revolutionize the music industry. I could also see them having their own game show, like YSMM. Wouldn't it be a great show?


I know that this would all be a long shot and would probably never happen, but still. What happens when they get older? When other, younger groups come along? I want them to have a say in their future, instead of having to take whatever SME decides to give them. I want a future for my boys, and I just don't see a long one with SM. But that's all my opinion.


Truthfully, I believe the boys have all discussed this with each other. Maybe they fought about it- I don't know. If they did, so what? That's their business and they have a right to disagree. But personally I think they're all in this together, even if they aren't saying so yet. I agree with the others, that it's due to the fact that Yunho and Changmin are involved in other projects right now. But do you really think they would give up on each other so easily? Do you honestly have so little faith in their bond? Right now, they have sent out their front line to fight, and I, for one, will be standing right there next to them ready to fight alongside our "King".


Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, so you don't have to agree with me. But please, think how the boys would feel if they read what you were saying. This is surely very hard on all of them already- imagine how it would break their hearts to know that Cassiopeia, who has always been there by their side, was now angry or disappointed in them. Think how it would feel to hear their fans saying they don't support them in this. And think how it would hurt them to know we are turning against one another and saying such things.


Keep the faith. 5-1=0. It's the same way for us... Cassiopeia should not be split, either. We should be united. For the sake of our boys, don't let Cassiopeia become divided. We can disagree, but let us all support our boys and each other in this hard time.

This is not the end of DBSK.
This is not the end of Cassiopeia.

but now I think they want a bit more freedom from the contract.
SM's leash on DBSK is way too tight, I think they just want to get it a little
looser, they're not asking to be let go of so they can "run wild" (if you get my drift)

And the whole about CreBeau, Micky getting the R8 and Junsu getting the house for his parents.
I'm not speaking for them, but it seems like, to me, that they got those things from the Chinese company because they wanted to show their appreciation. And SM didn't like that. I just think if they got paid more they'd be more happy. A LOT of the money THEY make goes to SM.

1. What is DBSK's break up, and why did this break up news pop out?
and Are the news about DBSK true?

+ The words about DBSk breaking up came up as the news of the 3 members Jaejoong, YuChun, and Junsu filing a " Provosional disposition of suspending exclusive/ongoing contract" to the court came out. The breaking up rumors are just false rumors. The reason why the breakup rumors came out is because of the news of the members filing a suspension of the contract created more rumors amongst the fans. The most known false rumors flowing around from this were : The members not getting along, and the problems with Sm.ent and the member's cosmetic line. A these rumors came out the break up rumors came out as well. The only real truth that are out about DBSK is the news about the members filing a suspension of contract. That's the only one.





2. What is the deal with DBSK's rumors about setting up a cosmetic company and the problems? What kind of relation does this have?

+ To tell the truth there is no relation with the cosmetic line and DBSK's break up rumors. Of course the members that had filed the contract suspension were the ones that are opening the store, but the members are not the owners of the cosmetic company. They are just managing ONE store. The only thing the 3 members are responsible for is just ONE branch of the entire company. There were rumors about the members and the company in the past, and it seems to have been building up into false rumors. but the cosmetic line having relations to the reason of why the members have filed the contract suspensions are not true. These rumors are just what the people are assuming because they have no clue what is going on with what is true and what is not true. because of this reason, as long as there has not been a clear statement of confirmation, it is not true.


3. What is a " Prvosional disposition of suspending exclusive contract" ? and What happens when this lawsuit is in action?


+ Simply, when you file a lawsuit of suspending a contract, you are basically putting a stop to the validity of the existing contract. An ongoing contract is basically saying that you will stay with the same company for a long time, but DBSK wants to fix the existing contract's fishy areas and wants to express how the members wants to fix the contract and show what they want. That is it. This filing of lawsuit has nothing to do with DBSK members breaking up. And this lawsuit has nothing to do with who will be WINNING or LOSING. If this file gets passed and accepted then it just means that the existing contract will just lose the validity not that DBSK will leave Sm.ent and have DBSK break up.






4. On the re-contracting, there are talks that Yunho and Changmin have done a re-contract with Sment. is this true?

+ I don't know where you heard this from, but this has never been confirmed formally and is just a false rumor. There has not even been a real news report of this rumor, and it's JUST the 3 members filing a provisional disposition about the contract. Just because the 3 members have put out a provision doesn't mean that just because only 3 members did that the other 2 made recontracts. These are just rumors. There were no talks or whatsoever about this. This is untrue.


5. How do we deal with all the false allegations, rumors, and articles that are still spreading?

+ To tell the truth, not all of us have the high tolerance and knowledge to be able to just pass and ignore all the news articles spreading over the internet and the on the search engines. And also the fact that not many of us have unlimited knowledge of how lawsuits work, of course many of us will panic over the news articles talking about the rumors as if they were facts, and about DBSK breaking up. In these kind of cases we just have to stay strong when seeing overly exxagerative articles and false articles. Because we cassies are together with DBSK we have to show them. We can't leave rude comments, and to not spread false rumors from reading false articles ourselves. We have to spread the right informations to the people and learn to gain the right informations as well. We have to request posts about taking down false informations and post and scrap the articles that have been formally confirmed by sm.ent and from right sources.



6. Even though they are rumors, rumors have been proved true alot of the times. Are there anything out there that are actual facts?

+ As long as the rumors have not been formally confirmed there is no possible way that we can call it actual facts. But we are for sure that the only thing 3 members haved done is that they filed a lawsuit to FIX the contract (edit it basically) regarding slave contract, the validity date of the contract, and unfair contract listings. And to do this they have right now put a hard stance by putting a suspension to the validity of the existing contract. Alot of people are saying that DBSK will just become the 2nd H.O.T. and S.E.S. but situation is very different. DBSK is not just top idols in Korea but also artists who are very influential outside of Korea. SM.ent is not a company that would kick out DBSK just because their artist put a lawsuit. Even if dbsk was to break up from Sm.ent, this does not mean that DBSK will break up. Many might be asking ' What does that mean?' DBSK is also in contract with a ent.group AVEX in japan. The contract validity with AVEX ent. has not ended and also have contracted with 2 companies for 2 CFS. DBSK also will be participating in Japan's A-Nation starting today and also on the 1st of August, 22,23,29,and 30.
If DBSK was to even break away from SMent, they will have to deal with damages for breach of contract with Avex. Thing will get dirty. There has been the same situation in Japan with a group called SMAP. Back then SMAP's member Kimura takya(?) had filed a lawsuit against his own company called Johnny's ent. The company backed away and reedited the contract and after that all the rest of the idol groups from there follows the new contract. Back then everyone there said that Kimura was going to take off to a new company and be solo, and every year his group gets hit with false rumors of breaking up but theyare still together to this day. Anyway again, we believe that it will be best if all you guys would stop making careless judgement about DBSK's breakup rumors.



SO BASICALLY THE TO POINT IS THAT: Dbsk's members Jaejoong, Xiah Junsu, and Micky Yoochun have filed a lawsuit " Provosional disposition of suspending exclusive/ongoing contract" based on the contract's basic terms of conditions, 13 year of slave contract term conditions of money. The false and overexxagerated news reports are overflowing, and the rumors of the company having issues with the members company line and the members not getting along are false. Just because they filed a lawsuit does not mean they are breaking up. They are just filing a lawsuit to FIX the existing contract with Sm.ent. They have filed a lawsuit because Sm.ent would not negotiate in talks with the members and they have tried many times. but now, im a bit calmed down, because i know that they will not disband.
They just want to fix their contracts with sm.
and thats what artists should do when they know that the contract isn't right.
i read a post saying that their schedule for sm concert was taken off the official website
but i just went on TVXQ's official site, and their schedule for the sm concert has not been taken out.

Thanks a lot for clearing things up Perhaps now people will calm down a little. DBSK won't disband at this moment.

It's nice to see that so many people care about DBSK, but we should try not to... get overexcited over rumours and news. Firing each other up and start unconfirmed rumours is really not the way to go... but of course, it's hard to know the truth.

I was very doubtful of the news of disbandment, since after a few years in this fandom I have learnt not to trust news/rumours blindly. If every rumour was true DBSK would be both dead, dads, gay, dead again and disbanded all at the same time xP

Gah, I'm tired now, I'm going to bed And now I'm waiting for the news about Xiah's solo Of course, maybe we'll have to wait for awhile because of this, but I still think he might do a mini-album this fall/winter.
