The housemate that I share a bathroom with used up all of my new Ojon shampoo and conditioner in one week while I was gone (I found the empty bottles in the bathroom trash), and the products were gifts from my boyfriend's mom.

I was so damn angry that she had the nerve to not only use my things without asking, but to use ALL OF IT, that I severely diluted her Redken shampoo and conditioner and then moved all of my things out of the bathroom and into my bedroom.

I love my other two housemates, though.

Well, I get 2 roommates this year, 1 during first half of the year and another 1 2nd half of the year...Both left. 1st one was here for some English program and she's pretty annoying at times with all her so-call boyfriend problems which I really am not interested to hear but other than she's friendly. She went back to her hometown already. Then comes the 2nd one who's 24/7 on the phone. Come back late and sometimes she smokes in the bathroom. I really don't like the smell, but I needa use the bathroom somehow right. urgh! then, she finally left last month 'coz the rent here is too expensive. Well, we never really talk much anyway. And tada ~ I have the room all by myself now. LOL

I feel sorry for some of you guys. I'm glad that me and my room mate get along really well (: She's four years older than me so she's pretty mature. But I'm quite mature as well so we're pretty much on the same level regarding stuff. She's taking up medicine so she's busy all the time -- it's not a problem, though.

I live in a house with my best friend, her bf and another friend. I have to admit that it's hard at first to get used to everyone's living styles and such... but we get along really well now =)
We don't have a chart for chores nor do we really argue... we all kinda already know our roles in the house and we live with it. We don't exactly argue unless one of us is having a bad day and we always have dinner together like a happy family lol =P it's so random.

There's a few things here and there that bother me, but overall, I really enjoy their company ^^ I've known my bff for 10 years, her bf for 5 and we're always together >_> it's almost like I see no one else but them haha

is it really THAT bad to room with a high school friend?

i'm a senior (in high school) right now and i'm deciding whether or not i want to dorm with my best friend. we're kinda cautious of living with people we've never met before. (and our parents wouldn't really let us dorm if we weren't dorming together)

we're both extremely open-minded to new things & pretty outgoing (i guess? more her though)
so even if we don't dorm together, i dont think we'd have that much of a problem rooming with other people.

i've known her for at least 7-8 years now? (went to middle & high school with her)
so i know her pretty well. i can also put up with A LOT of her stuff. :] (good & bad -.- its tiring, but i'm used to it)
i sometimes feel that if i'm NOT around her, she'll go crazy + do crazy stuff. i'm kinda like her 'conscience'

many people tell me that you have to actually live with someone to know what that person is like. but if i already know what my best friend is like, its a little better in college right?
hahahahaa i sound so insecure LOL.

reading almost EVERY SINGLE PAGE in this thread gave me a sense that dorming is scary, but you can learn a lot from it.
but the whole 'don't room with a high school friend' was bothering me. :x
i don't want to ruin our relationship if dorming together is going to create that.

for all those who DID room with your friend from high school, was it truly that bad? o.O

pepe.RO ---- Well... my cousin told me how she dormed/roomed with her best friend and they got into a big argument and their relationship hasn't been the same since.

But dorming has been fun so far. To be honest, I can't stand my roommate either. She has this obnoxious tone to her voice and it's probably just the way she speaks, but it sounds so fake and white-washed. She's a nice person overall, I guess haha. She snores though and I'm a light sleeper, so I've been really irritated at that and she is so ditzy at times. But I'm a chill person, so it's whatever. She does her thing, I'll do mine.

I love my floormates a lot more though <3 We're all super close haha

i roomed with a high school as well as another girl. we got along famously.
in fact me and my high school are a lot more closer than before. hell it was as if we were sisters XD
but i didnt dorm. my hs friend and another girl were renting an apt and they had space, and so invited me to stay rent with them.
it may have been that we were all really laid back people and respectful, so not much could actually rile any of us up lol...

I hate her , my roommate, well i don't think i am good though but i just freaking don't like her!
She thought she is the best or something, i don't know ! I might be wrong . i thought roommates can be really close and we can chit chat all night or every night before sleep! OR we can talk about everything!! But i am wrong!!! She is my classmate last time but we seldom chat , i thought she is a nice girl but i am totally wrong!! We went to the same college , thought of staying together, but i honestly felt darn sad and angry staying with her .... is like i am only staying with myself but i get the worst things ever!!

She only talk to her best friend which was my house mate too, i feel weird sitting in the middle looking at them talking, i try to make a topic to chat but no one ever wants to answer me or i'll join their conversation but i still don't get reply by them. It's freaking sigh and sad to know this but i don't want to get hurt or anything by this . I just go inside the room and chill myself!! I think everyone will thinks it's weird, because my roommate never talk to me even we stayed in a room for more than half a year!! Not even a day we talk, i really tried to talk her , but she just ignore me, and the worst thing is well, since she don't FEEL like talking to me, so i don't know anything about her. Is not like a even a friend..! And yeah, she'll talk to me if something get spoiled or anything in the house!!

We all , me and my others roommates knows she have a lot of friend out there because she talk on the phone like non-stop!! And we are not even part of her friend! Or perhaps only me? Gosh! And i don't understand why the hell every morning when she got up , she definitely bang the door and grab her shampoos stuff so angrily , wtf!! She'll open the door and get make up , make all the SOUND!!! I always got up earlier because of her!! BUT I never disturb her if i am the one who wakes up first!

Though i snored sometimes, the next days , she'll complained about me or she'll write things like '''i can't get enough of sleep because of the snore or anything''' in the facebook . And hey , you snore too!! But i never complain!!!

It's not fairrrr.. i am going to move out, i am sure she's gonna be happy about it!

My answer in a nutshell is no. It's not that bad, in fact I have no problems at all living with my best friend =) and I MUCH rather live with someone I know rather than a stranger.

I've known my best friend for 10 years now =O we've been through ups and downs and like you and your best friend, we thought we've been through EVERYTHING imaginable as friends. Of course, we're both different in our own ways, but now that we're in our third year of university, we've seriously learned each others' strengths and weaknesses.
We both ended up getting into the same university and it was pretty much decided that we would obviously live together even without talking about it =P ... after we got our residence decided, we were slotted into a double room (dorm style where like, you and your roommate basically share a large room) even though we wanted an apartment style >_< oh wells!

Anyways! to fast forward a bit, we went through orientation together, classes together, eating together... we were basically stuck at the hip o_O To me, I thought that since I already have such a good group of friends (there were like 30 of us in high school), I didn't feel a great need to make new friends in university and I think my bff felt the same way because by sticking together so much, we seriously didn't put a lot or ANY effort into making new friends >_>

As for the actual LIVING together, I agree that you really don't know your best friend until you've LIVED with them. It's a totally different world altogether when you finally get to know her LIVING style =P lol! I admit that I didn't notice how MESSY my bff was until we shared the same room haha and I didn't realized how OCD I was about messy areas X___X
It takes awhile to adjust and honestly speaking, if you put in the effort to get along and stay good friends then it shouldn't be a problem ^^''
I had small issues with my best friend... like sometimes she'd be very stressed and started ignoring me, or she'd be very cold towards me =X and I had no idea wtf was wrong >_> but I think that died as soon as midterms/finals were over and we went back to usual ^^

So all in all, my first year with my best friend wasn't bad at all =) it drew us closer in many ways and aside from the off times, we spent mostly every waking hour together. We'd even stay up talking all night together and then nap the whole afternoon away the next day LOL! =P

Now, we're in third year and we're still bffs =) We still live together =O we live in a townhouse together with 2 guy friends (one being my bff's bf) and I think what's best is that after being together for so long, you really learn what the other person likes and dislikes =) Well that's my experience... haha! it's pretty brief since I didn't go into too much details about our problems and solutions but I don't regret living with my best friend and in fact, we're better friends because of it! Everyone's different and you seriously won't know until you try XP
