LOL.
what is with these questions all of a sudden of people asking about what others think of specific bands/artists?
i haven't heard anything by Lincoln Park. what genre are they?
i did however use to listen to Linkin Park. they were my favorite band in my early HS years. they're decent. mainstream stuff. good in my ears. i enjoyed Linkin Park's first album a lot more than their second--which took my awhile to get use to and i had to allow it time to grow on me. still, their Hybrid Theory album was their best so far.

^ I liked Hybrid Theory more too!
I thought some of the songs from their second album were overplayed...
Lol SinnedAngel, maybe you should make one thread and ask all your questions together..

Ah yes, Linkin Park.
I like their songs. Its not too hip-hop, and not too hard rock.
I love their song From The Inside. <3
..I actually know the rap part for one of the songs.
I managed to remember it, aha.

They try too hard to be angry..... with their 'angry' lyrics and their 'angry' instrumentals.
Not a fan.... but I understand why younger kids like them.

I was really in love with Linkin Park all throughout high school. They have easibly likeable songs due to having lyrics that you can really relate with and really catchy and interesting music. That and their music videos are neat.

They seem like rather intuitive fellows as well. I agree that Hybrid Theory was much better than "Meteora" but both albums were good.
Recently the guys said that their new album has a new sound. It's less nu metal now, though it would have been what some would say "safe" to keep doing the nu metal thing. So I'm intrigued to hear what they sound like now. I hope it's not bad.

Not really my thing.
But hey, they were one of the best selling bands of the 21st century so they must'a done something right.
Now some of them live under rocks, and others rap. Whatev.

I thought Hybrid Theory was a great album... and then I slowly started listening to them less.
I really do like them though, I just don't actively listen to them anymore. Used to be obsessed, hah hah. ^^;;;

They were at one time my favorite band. I still think they're one of best live shows i've seen. It seems everytime I go to one of their shows they get better and better. Chester's vocal range is amazing.
I tend to drift from them easily though, I think because they take so long in between releases and waste so much time on other things. Reanimation was great, and the Jay-z album was good for a few listens, but I need something new >_<

Linkin Park were probably one of the very few mainstream "hard rock" artists playing on commercial radio.
i thought they were a decent band, mixing rock with rap and hip-hop beats. an interesting sound which i hadn't heard about at that point in my life (i was about 11 or 12 at the time).
i found that they're Meteora album was easier to listen to than their Hybrid Theory one, but they are both good albums.
Linkin Park provided my soundtrack to when i felt angry about something because of the lyrics and volume. however, i also enjoyed listening to it on a regular basis.
this group was probably one of the many 'rock' bands i got into at a young age. i was still discovering music at the time and am glad that i knew about them as it provided many new doors for me to open, music-wise.
okay, my long rant is over...i think that's a lot of opinions for one post. =S

They're not my thing but I don't mind them. I have friends who listen to them and I respect that. This group has talent though.

loll... the linkin in linkin park is actually a typo. im not sure if they did it on purpose or not but yeah... its actually named after a park where they lived near "lincoln park". hahhaha... but linkin park is okay. i just get tired of hearing their songs every once in a while. but i cant wait for their new album coming out next year, somewhere around february.

yeah, younger kids. i was a young teen when i was obsessed. its when your around that age that you start to go into this teen angst phase. everyone does. i think that's why every young naive kid/teen needs something they can sort of understand or relate to. but i kinda grew out of my phase and my music taste matured a lot. though i'll still listen to them occasionally but rarely since they haven't come up with anything new yet. but soon!

haha. i loved linkin park's hybrid theory album, but their last album/collaboration with jay-z was just eek! i just wanna hear some new stuff... they haven't released an album for a while... mike's solo project (fort minor) is really good though.

I am the same as well. When I first heard of them I was obsessed with the whole angry vibe that comes with most of their songs. If someone told me that years later I'd be listening to Frank Sinatra and Pink Martini instead I would have told them they are crazy.

I loved them when I was started high school. I got all their albums and was a huge fan. It slowly died down once they went on hiatus. They are coming out with a new album soon, so we're see how that goes. Hybrid Theory was a great album and they have some great demos.

Still go back to them every once in a while.
Want them to come back with a new album just for the hell of it.
But I kind of want another Fort Minor album.

Linkin Park isn't really my thing, but I do listen to them alot... ok, not really, but I like most of their songs, but years ago, everytime I go into a shop, the friggin song, Numb I think, got played OVER and OVER. Numb is still one of my favourite songs, but still, ..... Although, I really really really really *takes breath* am obsessed with the Numb Encore song. I like it alot!!! ^^

i like linkin park. i listened to their songs for a long time... and i like most of the songs on the meteora album, particularly "somewhere i belong", "easier to run", and "numb".
the linkin park/jay-z collision course ruined it i think. They should do their own thing cause the songs kind of don't sound right together.. lol.

i am a huge fan of linkinpark and chester bennington.....not so much of mike

...i think their best album is
hybrid theory, more of rock cuz the albums later like meteora, reanimation and collision course are more like experiments with different genres...mainstream....
n its sad that they are all busy with their individual projects.....i was waiting for chester's new album..but i don't think he is releasing it.....i hope mike will stop concentrating on his side projects n bring back linkin park

.....
i miss them a lot

...their page is like quite dead.......
i m surprised they have 'other music' pg here in soompi......i was new to k-pop n korean dramas.....n now i love them all alot....but i find it quite weird to like rock as well, at the same time

....tryin hard to keep up with the rock scene.....

"Lincoln"
Anyhow, my fave song is probably "Faint" and then..."Breaking the Habit" that music video was kind of awesome xD xD
Oh, and "In the End" It's scary how most of the people I know can totally sing/rap that but totally fail at rapping any other songs xD
I remember "Crawling" too..kind of scary...
