Oh jeez, I can't believe there isn't a thread for Stars.
According to Wikipedia, "Stars is a Canadian indie pop band. Originally formed in Toronto by vocalist Torquil Campbell and keyboardist Chris Seligman, the band relocated to New York City and then subsequently to Montreal. Their music has been described as "beautiful, eloquent indie pop", characterized by lush instrumentation, nimble production and mixing, narrative lyrics, and soft but nuanced vocals."
In short, they pretty much rock.
Anyone else a fan?

I kind of like how not a lot of people have heard about Stars. It makes me feel special, like only super cool people know about them. (:

I especially love how their sound varies throughout their albums. I've found that their music can pretty much fit any mood I'm in. (:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stars_%28band%29MyspaceOfficial WebsiteStars is one of my favorite music bands. I like "Tonight" and "On Peak Hill" from their Nightsongs album; "Heart" and "Don't Be Afraid to Sing" on Heart; and "One More Night" from Set Yourself on Fire. But I like most of their other songs, too! If you like Emily's voice (she's the female vocalist) you might like Metric. The style is definitely different (more of an edge) but I found Metric after Stars and I like them almost as much.

^Personal <3333 I love the lyrics. They're so painfully beautiful. Did anyone listen to the remix album of Set Yourself On Fire? I thought their songs were butchered by their friends. I've only heard their two most recent albums and I like Set Yourself on Fire the most. I love the French horn they used in their songs. One More Night and Let it Go are my favourites on it. I think Let It Go's other name is Big Fight?

The remix album was alright....The only remix that really did it for me was the 'Your Ex-Lover Is Dead' by Final Fantasy.
I'm going to see them when they come to Toronto in November!

IMO, the Do You Trust Your Friends? remix album wasn't bad, it just wasn't good. I love all of the bands that remixed the songs, so I feel that they could have done SO much better. If they had been covers of the songs, instead of remixes, it could have been amazing.
In Our Bedroom After the War is the type of album that you listen to once and you're like "Ehh.. not that great", but after a few times the songs start growing on you. Personal is probably my favorite, because it's so heartbreakingly gorgeous. Amy Millan's voice is flat out amazing, so Bitches in Tokyo made me orgasm a little. Take Me to the Riot is really good too.
They're coming to LA in November, but it's the same day of my Homecoming dance.. I have no idea which to go to. x__x
