Now that it's officially the new year, we can now reminisce about the wonders of 2006 and it's music. So, what song(s), to you, represented 2006 / will always remind you of this particular year?

To me, the songs would have to be:

SexyBack - Justin Timberlake. I mean, get real, everyone went crazy over this song. Sexy Back has got to be one of THE most overused catchphrases of 06.

Promiscuous Girl - Nelly Furtado. Not only did it mark the brand new image of Nelly Furtado, but this song got everyone on the dance floor.

&..

Tong Hua - Guang Liang. Because, everytime I go to karaoke with my friends, that song always pops up. And that song was such a big hit it's not funny. So many people fell in love with that song and Michael Guang. Because he is awesome. <3333

So, there's mine (there's a few more but I can't remember right now.). What about you?

For some reason even though people find this group to just be "nicole and the girls" people still accepted them for their image and music. Even though nicole and sometimes this other girl are the only ones singing.

The songs that basically reigned the radio waves were basically JT's SexyBack and Nelly Furtado's Promiscious Girl...even though i liked them, i got to a point where i was sick of hearing them because of the extreme overplayed-ness.

I think JT and Furtado were THE artists of 2006....

truthfully, i like Maneater and My Love better.

I don't listen to a lot of recent music, and uh.. I think I only bought two new albums this year.

So, for 2006 releases, it's mostly:

Kimdracula by Deftones
Fidelity by Regina Spektor
Childlike Faith
Definitely Sexy Back. O_O

Nelly Furtado - Maneater
James Blunt - Goodbye My Lover
YOURS2ENVY
Sexy back represented the year for pretty much everybody because it was the most overly played song on the radio. However..for how I felt the year was, Hedley - I Don't Believe It and Gunnin' kinda fit in. laugh.gif

Uhh. Maybe Meds by Placebo?
I don't watch music channels like MTV, VH1, or Fuse, so I didn't see any "new" music videos. I don't listen to the radio and I didn't buy any (2006) albums last year. I listened to Placebo's new album on some radio blog a lot. That was about it.
I've never even seen any new Just Timberlake videos or anything by PCD or what have you.

Consider me fortunate. smile.gif
