I don't remember what's the first song I heard off her, think it was probably Sakura Drops, because my brother bought the album in China as he was obsessing over Japanese stuff at the time

I remember the first time I heard of Utada Hikaru was at my Tennis Game in High School and some girl was listening to her "Addicted to You"

and ever since then, I've been enjoying her music for years.

I especially love Passion, from Kingdom Hearts two, although I have to say I like her Japanese ver (despite it coming out after her English ver) better.
I also love Keep Tryin' I Love that MV too!

The first song that I first heard from Hikki was Simple in Clean in Kingdom Hearts.
If not for Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy; I don't think I would have had the opportunity to get into Jpop <3

I was really shock when I found out she was married too. Not sure how long she have been married for but I'm guessing around 3 years or more since late 2004 was when I found out.

I love her songs "Wings" and "Traveling" the best. I bought her american cd too! I love her voice, it can reach the high notes and the lower ones. Oh yeah, and I love the vid for "Boku Wa, Kuma." It was soo cute! (I am not a car, a bear a bear a beaar..my rival is fried shrimp!) Somethin like that hahaha. I wanna read her children's books she's gonna make. (Forgot where I read that)

Oh yeah, is it true she had ovarian cancer and she can't have her own babies?

hi guys...utada hikaru's one of my favorite japanese singers.i really like the songs dareka no negai ka kanau koro (such a long title...) and final distance...even though i'm so late i'll still greet her a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

She married Kiriya Kazuaki when she was 19 back in 2002. He was 34. oooooold haha.
He had worked with several of her cover shoots and a bunch of her videos from FINAL DISTANCE & on. Except for COLORS and Easy Breezy. I think. :0
Anyway, Kiriya won't be directing for her anymore after the Keep Tryin' video. That's also the reason there were lotsss of hints and stuff from her earlier videos in it.

Offtopic: YESSSS! Hikki clan, but none for Ayu [at least on the first page]! HAH! XD

She had surgery for it before Deep River was released. Dunno if she can still have children or not though

Hey, correct me if I'm wrong, but the full version of Flavor of Life is out early yes? 'cause I spotted it on Solid07's forums a week ago and thought it'd be released in february.

^ There's two versions, original and ballad. The one in Hana Yori Dango 2 is the ballad version (WHICH I LOVE.) lol
oh but they're both on one single, the original is the A-side. I think the ballad version had a PV, so there are PV rips of it around.

Utada Hikaru never seems to disappoint me in her musical abilities <3

The original version sounds so 80's. I'm disappointed.

The only reason I know her is because of Kingdom Hearts.

Yeah, I just read that she got divorced. I'd become so fond of Hikki and Kiriya that now it seems so awkward to hear them say that they no longer wish to be together/married. I almost feel like they're divorcing their fans, haha. I'm gonna miss the Kiriya PVs and the Kuma Chang posts -- oh goodness, what will I do if she quits talking about Kuma Chang?!? Those are her most exiciting journal posts, lol.

But of course, I always felt a slight doom for this relationship. I think it's beacuse I am so cripplingly old-fashioned, so the age difference always used to twitch me every so often. But still, it makes me sad. And she said the divorce rumors weren't true, oh, how they lie xD.

But besides her current status,
I love Hikki to death. She is hands down my favorite asian artist -- because of her ability, DIY aesthetics, humble presentation and just her style. I'm not a fan of the stock "K-pop/J-pop" and Hikki is a savior from all that horrible repeat stuff.

I dunno... it just always seemed like they weren't that close/affectionate, but "professional" and stiff... at least, in public.
It was nice of them to announce their divorce in a classy way.
I wonder if the lyrics to 'flavor of life' relfect some of those feelings of her real-life loneliness...

love her to the core.. she's the first japanese singer i've liked and since then was exposed to asian music etc. most liked songs are traveling, can you keep a secret, sakura drops, easy breezy, and well almost all of the songs ;D just love her! hikki support all the way! =D

You like two of the songs I like from her. Traveling and Can You Keep A Secret. I also really liked Kettobase.

^Kettobase from her unplugged performance is so awesome! I really like her live performances, to me the songs just sound so much better. Go Hikki!

I find it amazing that she could write something really happy and cheerful in her blog right after she made that announcement on her divorce.
I have SO MUCH respect for Hikki. She's just so talented, awesome songwriter and her songs are unique! My very first jpop artist...and still loving her music! <3

i first fell in luv w/ her song, "Simple and Clean" and now, i luv her new song, "Flavor of Life" it's so sad esp. in those sad moments in HYD. i also liked d melody of easy breezy^^

I'm not technically a fan but am close to one. I've heard a few songs I enjoyed like her new Flavor of Life and the one on Kingdom Hearts (which I'm trying to find the name of). I also got her Ultra Blue cd as a gift.
