Hmmm....Automatic Part II surprised me a bit....I was kinda expecting the tune to be something like the first one...but then it's already 2009 so change is okay

OMG! Utada's Come Back To Me was on the radio just now! I can't believe! I've been addicted to this song and to hear it on the radio in OKLAHOMA is so neat! ^____^

On and On is amazing! I can't stop listening to it and This One (Crying like a Child)!
This album is totally gonna be a hit! Even my dad likes FYI and Come Back to Me! When I told him that Utada is the artist singing the song, he was totally stoked!

i'm surprised they didn't release THIS ONE as the first single. imo, it's the stronger ballad and reallllllllllly catchy. i've been crying like a chi - ai -aild .

Very good album but Exodus is better in my opinion.
This One, FYI, Apple and Cinnamon and Dirty Desire are the stand out tracks on this album.
Me Muero and Poppin' took some getting use to but then I grew to tolerate it.
I initially liked the preview for Taking My Money Back, but after hearing the full version I just can't get into it at all.
Automatic part II is just there =\ Not bad but it's not good either.
Overall it's a good effort and I'll definitely purchase it when it becomes available but I still prefer "Utada Hikaru" over "UTADA" more.

I dont know how to compare This Is The One with Exodus'04.
these two are totally different. Hikki said she is trying to do mainstream for This is the one and Exodus'04 was experimental.
nevertheless, both are amazing~

Wow, so far, I've read nothing but good reviews about this album. The short previews weren't enough for me. I really want to check the full album out but I'm waiting for May~
EDIT. Wow, I'm listening to some of the songs on youtube (I still refuse to download lol) but so far, I LOVE IT. <3 May please come quickly!!
Why did they push the American date back anyways? From the Japan release date to America release date is like 2 months apart. :/

^ Gives them time to do more promotion for the album. Possibly release another single from the album in the meantime.

I have to say that I am impressed with how they are promoting this album. They're not hasting things! They're making sure that
Come Back to Me slowly penetrates the airwaves first!

Oh yeah.. I'm also wondering why they didn't chose
This One as the cover track. T__T I like it better.

i can definately feel that utada's trying to go mainstream with this album (she even admitted it herself)
so far i'm digging mainly On and On, as well as FYI. The rest is kinda so so for me.

Listening to This One right now. It's quite nice, but the chi-ai-ai-ild is just a no for me. But yeah, still a good song, lovely tune.
EDIT: I don't mind the chi-ai-ai-ld bit anymore. I actually really like the song now. I was listening to Dirty Desire as well. That was alright too but not as good as This One of course. I just didn't like how they added "love you long time" into that song. =="

Okay, I've just got the leaked album.
It's really...REALLY American-ised. Like I know that's what they were going with and not saying that's a bad thing and all but yeah, that's just me saying how really R'n'B oriented it is. Still, it's not that bad of a listen. I like this album, it's not too bad. I do have a problem with some of her lyrics though, but the beats and tunes are catchy and have pretty nice hooks.
I like the direction Utada is going with on this. By the way, has she dropped Hikaru for her American push?
EDIT: Why is her second track Merry Christmas Mr Lawerence - FYI?
I think FYI makes more sense than the first part.

sorry to cut your post.

It's titled
Merry Christmas Mr Lawerence because it's the original title of the song. Utada's version is just a remake.

FYI is her title for it.

Me Muero is easily my favorite on this. (:
I'm not going to do a full review or anything, but while listening to this it was one of the only times I thought I really wanted to hear her do a remix album (like Automatic part II mashed with daft punk's Technologic.... but thats just me)

my friend called swphora anyway because it says make appointment but the worker there said they won't be accepting appointments because it's not necessary and if we wanna get in we'll have to wait there. And they also said it's from 6 o'clock to 8. The first hour will be a radio interview or something and 2nd hour will be autographs

I hope she really gives autographs to everyone who at least got in though. I'm excited.

it seems like boa and utada could borrow from each other - one's missing charm, the other substance

^ HAHA! I thought it was OK when I first heard it, but if it was released this year it definitely won't do.
Anyway, hello guys! I'm posting for the first time here. ^^
I've been a Hikki fan since I heard "Simple & Clean".
I've listened to all of "TITO" and, don't anybody feel that the songs are really repetitive and similiar? I understand Hikki's genre is R&B but R&B doesn't necessarily mean repeating a word/phrase over and over again! I won't say the songs are no good, just that their similiarity is magnified by being put together in the same album.
Just my two cents. =]

^ I'd think a lot of people were introduced to Utada Hikaru through Kingdom Hearts. It's good though cause it sorta furthered her American break (cause gaming is such a big thing in society now). I know I started to get familiar with her when I heard Simple and Clean on Kingdom Hearts, though I like Hikari much more.

I just got an email that says she's going to be at the Sephora here in Hollywood and Highland... i am WAY TOO EXCITED for it.

Radio Ga Ga
3.19(Thu) 23:01

Hallo hallo from Sacramento!
I'm in the middle of doing a bunch of radio station rounds in the West coast.
I started out in Seattle yesterday morning, did a few radio interviews including a live one, then flew to Portland to do some more, then to Reno, Nevada, to do another live one, then flew to Sacramento and checked in to a hotel.
I visited a really interesting dance radio station (big on the internet) in Seattle, called C89.5---it's located inside a regular, local high school!
We took some group shots with the students who take the radio class, and it was hilarious because I looked just like another high school student LOL I was the smallest kid, too LOL I'll get one of those shots to post here, too.
I'm about to take a shower and get ready for a live radio show here, in Sacramento, on the station 107.9 The End. I think I'm appearing sometime between 9-10am.
I'll be doing some recorded interviews in other stations here too (KSFM/102.5 and KBMB/103.5), and in the afternoon I'll be in San Francisco to do some more (KNGY, KYLD, and KMVQ), then end the day in LA.
Alright, the lady's gotta go and get ready!
(

Haha. She really does look like a high school student in that photo. It looks as if she's bored in class.

Radio interviews: Seattle,
Portland,
Sacramento• Here is an interesting article,
Utada, Boa set sights on America with dueling English-language discs•
Utada “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” March 23rd?According to longtime Utada percussionist Taku Hirano’s MySpace, it appears that Utada will be making an appearance on “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” Monday March 23rd, presumably for an interview along with a live performance. Mr. Hirano’s schedule includes 3 rehearsal days prior to the Monday show with Ryan Seacrest. Thanks to bored at hikaru.sc.

This is cute. Hikki playing DDR. More photos
here.
I feel weird. Did anyone record
Come Back To Me when you heard it on the radio? I know I did. Haha.

I'm from the Sacramento area and I was surprised when I heard Utada's Come Back To Me on the radio like 2 days ago. It was on 102.5 (which is a hip hop and R&B station) and it was just surprising to see them promote her (not that she's a bad singer or anything). I was just surprised they were promoting an Asian artist

. And on their site, she's on the Top 10 songs. So it's great to know that she's doing well! I'm also surprised that she's promoting in the Sacramento area since this city isn't exactly "popular"/big like LA where she could be more well known. I hope she does well in the US!

SERIOUSLY? UTADA ON RYAN SEACREST'S RADIO SHOW?
that's frggin awesome! I'll wait for it on mondaay!
wow. i am now officially amazed by the promotions for Utada. She's winning the audience through radio broadcasts first! ..which is good!

I don't really mind having the universal album release to be moved. That way, she'd get more radio (and TV, perhaps) exposure she needs before her actual album comes out.

Utada's taking things slowly but SURELY! Because this album is THE ONE!

pleasantly surprised! Kind of reminds me of Mariah Carey, except with a dose of Utada.
