Ninomiya goes "Door to Door"

Arashi's Kazunari Ninomiya is starring in a TBS drama special called "DOOR TO DOOR." This is the third and last in the network's "kandou drama" series, which includes last year's "Marathon" and 2006's "Sukoshi wa, Ongaeshi ga Dekita Kana." Ninomiya also starred in those two specials.

These dramas are based on true stories about young men overcoming illnesses. "DOOR TO DOOR" is inspired by Bill Porter, an American door-to-door salesman who achieved the highest sales for his company despite suffering from cerebral palsy. In the U.S., Porter's story became a successful book, and it was turned into an Emmy-nominated made-for-TV movie on the TNT network in 2002.

TBS's version of "DOOR TO DOOR" is set in Japan, with Ninomiya playing the lead as a man named Hideo Kurasawa. His supporting cast includes Kanako Higuchi as his mother and Rosa Kato as a co-worker. Filming started on Sunday. TBS will air the drama on March 29 at 9:00pm.

Way to go Nino! I can't wait to see this special drama. I haven't watch Sukoshi wa, Ongaeshi ga Dekita Kana, but I did see Marathon and Nino was so good in it. Nino is such an amazing actor, I was tearing up the entire time watching that drama.

UGH, it's sad. It seems that this thread doesn't grow but there's a whole world of Arashi fans out there and most of them can be found at Livejournal! I just watched them on that New Year Special with the flour faces and stuff, and it was just HILARIOUS! Everyone just picks on Riida to no end. I always feel bad that he's the butt of jokes but it sure as heck creates a lot of laughter. Come to think of it, most JE leaders are the butt of jokes, excluding Yamapi of NEWS of course.

Has anyone seen Himitsu no Arashi-chan #38? Nino and his little notepad was funny. When Sho and Nino met the guys, Sho was being so cute. He was all "WOAH BIG WOAH BIG OMG WOAH." I love the segment where they surprise the members. Aiba's reaction was adorable. His request was so Aiba. He was so happy when he did it and he hugged the guy and the guy was like squeezing him and Aiba was all "IT HURTS IT HURTS IT HURTS!" He's so cute. I kind of wish he left his hood up. Their outfits were so hot. T-T <3 The part where Sho gets on Aiba's shoulders was cute too. Jun's reaction was my FAVORITE. OMG. It was the cutest reaction from the usual Jun. AND HIS REQUEST LOL. He was making the Darth Vader noise. Of course Leader was the most calm. <3

I became a fan of Arashi just starting last year but I'm such a huge fan of them now. A few weeks ago, I went out and pretty much purchased all of their DVDs and recent singles & albums from HMV. So I guess I'm one of those new fans who are stocking up on Arashi's old releases.

And it seems like Arashi really took off in Japan the last few years, but last year was definitely the year where they reached new levels of stardom. I asked my former co-worker who was visiting me from Japan a few months ago about who is popular there now and she said "Smap and Arashi". Smap is always popular so I'm not surprised, but I was thrill to hear that Arashi is now on top as well.

What I really love about Arashi is how well they get along with each other and how they all complement each other~ they don't try to steal the limelight from one another. And on top of that, they're super hilarious. as well

This episode is GOLDEN. 3/5 Arashi hamburger. Jun shoving Ohno on his back to the floor and then positions himself on top and adglkhahgaha. A+ for Ohno's face. Sho's shrieks and his cute chipmunk face when he is eating a piece of the big hamburger is so much cute.

^OMG, seriously, I just saw that episode. For real, AnS episodes are the episodes I always look forward to the most for being subbed because it's just too good. I love seeing older JE artists with the younger ones. It's just so funny and yea, that episode was pretty golden. Nagase is hilarious with Arashi and even though Ohno rarely does anything on the show (and lacks being a leader) he tends to make me laugh the most! Jun was very out of character in that episode as well. When he was going nuts with the hamburger and the leather jacket. And man, Nino/Nagase/Aiba team sure are WIN! And Jun did look like Rambo.

jeniez, you are definitely right about how well they get along with each other. Probably the best out of all JE groups most likely. They even admitted that they never fought. I think it mostly has to do with Aiba and Ohno. They are such chill dudes and even though Ohno is the supposed "leader", he makes the group so relaxed and comfortable because he doesn't do anything! So chill! And they are all so HILARIOUS!

Nino will forever look like a 17 year old. That boy has some good genes. Also, I agree. I really wish the show was how it used to be where the boys presented secrets and went on location to investigate them. I don't see the point of watching the boys in little boxes and listening to them comment on stuff for a couple of seconds. T-T Anyway, Nino really was hilarious writing stuff in his notepad. I think at one point he wrote something about learning how to read the ruler because he looked so confused when he had to measure how tall that guy was, lol.


I read the translations for Popolo Magazine (March) and it was rather funny. Even though they have been together for 10 years, they have never met Ohno's parents. Even though they are in the same room/car, they each do their own things. I find that interesting. It means they are comfortable with each other. Leader is so sweet. He leaves one earplug out just in case someone needs to talk to him. ^^ Aiba is like a lonely puppy. I just want to cuddle him.

Yea, I do think Sho should be in New York now. I'm super disappointed that I can't make it. It's due to the fact that so many people were doubting his appearance that I just backed out from buying the tickets. I mean, I was only gonna go to Comic-con for an hour just to see him. (my fave member). Well, to make this post not so useless, I have to include an obligatory Sho gif.

There were a lot of fans that went to see him so there were some security risks so they had him wave to the the fans from a sky box. He was so polite and he seemed shocked to see so many people there for him and even more shocked that they sang "A.RA.SHI" for him. Sho was leaning toward the window to try to hear what the fans were singing and he did the hand motions for "A.RA.SHI" and bowed politely. <3 Another fan account of Sho's appearance at the red carpet is here.

World premiere of 'Yatterman' held in New York

The world premiere of a live-action film version of ‘‘Yatterman,’’ a popular, comical Japanese animated television series from the 1970s, was held Friday in New York, with its director Takashi Miike and pop idol and lead actor Sho Sakurai attending. Before the world premiere at pop culture convention New York Comic Con, Miike, known for violent films and horror movies such as ‘‘Audition,’’ ‘‘Dead or Alive’’ and ‘‘Ichi the Killer,’’ told a news conference, ‘‘Yatterman, a national hero in Japan, can be enjoyed in the United States.’’

Sakurai, a member of popular idol group Arashi, said he was excited as the world premiere was held in New York. Japanese anime and ‘‘manga’’ comic books span countries and generations and many people can enjoy the work, he said. At New York Comic Con, a booth was also set up for the movie about the fight of Gan-chan, son of a famous toy designer and ‘‘Yatterman No. 1,’’ and his girlfriend Ai-chan, ‘‘Yatterman No. 2,’’ against a trio of villains who are trying to locate a mysterious stone known as the ‘‘Dokuro (Skull) Stone,’’ which is currently split apart. The duo’s large dog-shaped robot, ‘‘Yatter-Wan,’’ battles with robots operated by the villains.

The movie will be released March 7 in Japan.

She got to touch him and he smiled at her and asked so many Arashi questions! If he asked me who my favorite member was, I would've taken his hand and said, "It's you Sho, it's you." These past few days, I found myself rewatching so many Arashi videos, especially from their old days. One particular video that kept me laughing for hours was when the boys get hypnotized and Aiba performs the infamous Italian Cannon. bwahaha.

Aiba and the Italian Cannon is just special. He even did it in Seoul on the Arashi Around Asia Tour DVD. He has no shame and I love it. I find it hilarious that Ohno was so easy to hypnotize but when it comes to Nino, he couldn't. ^^

I am weak for the brat. I was Nino baited with Stand Up! and his movie, Ao no Honoo (Blue Light), so he was my favorite for the longest time. Then Ohno came into his own and I focused a lot on him and his acting and art exhibition. Basically, all of them have something that draws me to them so I can't pick one. I am greedy and I love them all. But Nino will always be my first. T-T <3

^Oooo, a Nino fan! Very interesting! He surely is a brat, but a very lovable one. He tends to make the meanest remarks, mostly directed towards Aiba the most and I find it so entertaining. I just recently watched AnS 99 and it's sweet of what Nino had to say about Aiba. His letter was just soooo sweet and it made me almost tear a little because it's awfully rare to see a sweet side of Nino. But you know, after watching so many episodes of all their shows, I've come to realize that he TRULY TRULY cares for the other members. I can name so many moments, but there was this one particular moment that touched my heart! I don't know if you've seen VS Arashi 31? with Tegoshi from NEWS but when Aiba fell into this state of harsh breathing and coughing, NINO was the one who rushed to his side and made him get up. I just LOVE seeing moments like this between the members. It just shows how much they care. And have you ever witnessed a JE group genuinely close like this? I think not. (Jeez, I went into a state of a lecture here!) Wow, I had no idea Aiba performed the Italian Cannon in Seoul! I must search for that.

Jun looks so good in that CM! I love makings and his work ethic is SRS BSNS!! And their new song sounds very nice. I always like their songs. It doesn't take much to please me when music comes from them.

Some people are rather turned off of Nino because he can be so snarky but I love that about him. Arashi means a lot to him and he teases because he loves. ^^ I do remember Aiba being really tired from all that jumping and when he wheezing and coughing, I was a little worried. He was still trying to control his breathing while Jun seemed fine. Nino came and and dragged him up and walked back with him. There are always sweet moments with them. I especially love the natural moments between all of them when they just do it without realizing the cameras are on.

Ohh thank you so much for those gifs of Sho! Ah, he's just sooo HOT! I can't stop laughing at how they tease him about being such a failure at sports and yet, I haven't exactly witnessed a moment. Maybe a couple here and there, and he does do bad compared to the other members but not enough to call him a failure! (okay now that I think about it, after watching that AnS ep. with Nagase, I'm reconsidering haha)

I absolutely love Step and Go. I love the colors and the slow motion and them flailing around. The making of it was also cute with them conspiring to leave Ohno out so he would have to shave his head. ^^

I love that clip so much. It's so hilarious how they bump into each other and Jun sings off-key and just lololol at the whole thing.

EEEEE. Happiness is my favorite PV too. It's like the director was like "Okay. Here are some props. Go crazy." AND THEY DID. Every time I watch it, I find something new. Same for Hadashi no Mirai. Love it.

I was just watching their performance of "Naisu na Kokoroiki" on Utaban (2002.04.18) and noticed that Aiba didn't dance with them at all. He was sitting down on that chair the whole time. I guess it was during the time where he came back after he was hospitalized due to his lung collapse? Poor Aiba.
Thankfully, he is healthy now.

they were trying to do the A.Ra.Shi routine without hearing the song beat and not seeing where they were going..and apparently Jun was somehow the only one who was too fast while the rest was able to keep to the timing..its so realli farnie seeing Jun-kun in this clip..haha
