ok thanks for the help guys...damnnn korean is so confusing!!

so i guess 'koll' could be used in a similar way to 'kot'?

when negating something, does it matter whether you use 'mot' or 'an'? are they used specifically for a certain word or are they interchangeable?

and what would be the difference between 'ouri' ['we'] and 'ourin'??

못 is roughly "Can't" - 나는 이걸 못헤 (I can't do this). 너 수영 못해? (Can't You Swim?)

안 is roughly "Not" - 난는 이걸 안해 (I do not want to do this). 너 수영 안 하고싶어? (Do you not want to swim?)

우리 just means "We"

우린 is like a conjuction of 우리 and 는.

우리는 술 많이 마셔러 갈 거야. (We are going to go drink alot of beer.)
우린 술 많이 마셔러 갈 거야. (We're going to go drink alot of beer.)

lol. Hope it's not confusing. That's the best way I can't explain it. Someone might correct me. sweatingbullets.gif

걸 means:

1. 걸 is used for saying something as a fact, like 네가 없는걸 (the fact you're not here)
2. 걸 is short for 것을, like 그걸 먹을래 (i wanna eat that)

no, 는 does not equal "to be." that verb is 이다. 우리는 just means we + the topic marker.

sometimes, people might write 우리는 X. usually, it's a slogan, and it's said more like 우리는 X~~!!!! in this case, the verb 이다 is understood. or, if the X isn't a noun but an adjective, they might just leave off the 다 to make it a verb. for example, 우리는 최고~~ i probably just confused you more....

for your second question, it doesn't mean can't. it would translate more like "things i don't have...." there's probably more to that sentence. btw, i'm assuming omnun means 없는.

Hmm ... It sound about write. Koreans don't really care about grammer when they emailing eachother.

I'm guessing you're saying - "I have to beat my sister at least once." "I have to grow." "Thanks~"

"잘지내셨어요?" would be the formal way.

Translated it means "Are You Doing Well?" but it can mean "How Have You Been?"

Technically it's "안녕하십니까?" but that sounds sorta retarded this day and age. haha phew.gif

is formal... well... not really...

we dont use the term as often but 편히 지내셨습니까?
would be the most formal way to say

and i still use 안녕하십니까? as a morning greeting when i go into the office sometimes
most of the times i would use 안녕하세요

Im replying late huh ?

Im really sorry. It's courteous to reply right away but I was unable to do so. Im really sorry.

Also, I think its a good idea for me to write mail in Korean and for Penny to write it in English.

And wrongly interpreting goes for me too. So dont worry about that too much.

um.. my birthday is January 17th ! I think you and me are about a month apart..

Come to think of it Im not a 'oppa'. Because we are the same age.

Therefore you dont have to call me 'oppa' ^^

Is it true that you are working on an article for a magazine? Oh~~ remarkable!! remarkable~!

your writing abilities must be exceedingly great? Im not good at writing.. I envy you. ^^;

I wanna be able to write well too~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~!

Dont bother yourself too much about me giving you my rain coat/cloth when we were getting out of montabu

When i took off the cloth to give to you it wasnt cold at all. And im not such a courageous and healthy guy..^^;; Heh heh

Ill stop writing here.. As I told you earlier my writing is really not good...

Its said that you'll get healthy by sleeping early and waking early.. I am trying to act on this even if a little..

Sleeping overly late is said to be not good for the complexion..

Isnt it good for Penny to sleep early too? (Im not saying that Penny has a bad complexion!!)

ahhh sorry for the late reply.

I translated the lyrics and made it as literal as possible so, here you go

SM Town's Red Sun
The warm sunlight, cool wind
Within, you and I
SMTOWN bow bow boom
The beautiful melody of love, la la la

The lights are so bright, cannot open my eyes. To me, a city too hot (?)
When I stop my steps and close by eyes, I hear the blue ocean

(I) send out trembling currents of electricity signaling my heart
If you feel it, tell me that you feel the same way

As the wind blows the wet strands of hair
oh, right now is Summer time!
When I'm by your side, it doesn't seem like this will ever change

(*)Inside, when the hot sun is overfilling
I want to send you my feelings
Come closer and stay by my side forever
Like the endless rolling waves
Here in this place full of your scent
Loving you as if for the first time

Rap)
Where the rough waves and cool wind blows,
To my heart, come on
My name, youth(?), your name, ocean
The blinding light of the pearl encrusted shell

As I come to know you, every day becomes new, right now I'm perfect
The remaining hesitation
Like the white foam bye bye

As the wind blows the wet strands of hair
oh, right now is Summer time!
When I'm by your side, it doesn't seem like this will ever change

*Repeat

I want to stay here, only with you
I want to give you everything I have

Rap)
Uh, Uh, Here we go~ With Yunho and Shindong
Are you ready to spend this summer together
(We're) ready with great passion
Enjoy with laughter ha ha ha
Come closer so I can feel it
This summer together, forever
Feel and enjoy, together laugh
Yell louder

*Repeat

Rap)
You are my Sunday make it bounce with me
To me, larger and cooler than the ocean lady
Look at me uh remember this moment
Below the sun you and I are perfect

Embrace the ocean, even the breaking waves
As we embrace the sun, you and I together
Our meeting becoming closer
Our memories becoming deeper
I'll cherish it, our unique summer time!

yeah, sorry if the phrasings a bit awkward wink.gif

the word "mariya" at the end of those sentences is used when you're explainging something and trying to get a point across or something...I don't know, it's really hard to explain. It's like

blah blah blah "IS WHAT I'M TRYING TO SAY".

can someone help me with this? nd thanx stellabella for the other bit=]

'눈물로' = with tears
'박힌' = pierced, stuck
'표적없이 날아간 길을 잃은 분노' = A lost (as in you are lost on road somewhere) anger that disappeared (literally flew) without a target. -kan(gan) is added to the verb to make it an adjective (implies past verb).. but it's alot more complicated than just what I said.
'아픔을' = pain. I guess leul is just that topic marker I've been reading about on Soompi that is very hard to explain. I'll give you a sentence for this. "아픔을 참고 그녀가 드디어 집에 돌아왔다", Having overcome the pain, she has finally returned home.
'체온이 스며들게' = for the body temperature to sink in.

Erm, can someone translate "My reflection in the stars?" Thank you. I need the trans...

^ 별속의 비친 내 모습. (byul sohk ae bi chin nae mo seub.)

you're welcome.. but just in case you didn't see it, joonage also helped you.. he posted right before me, it's on the previous page. wink.gif

anyways, che-on is body temperature.. i translated that phrase very literally there, because it was early in the morning.. lol
to find it in a dictionary or whatnot, the form for 스며들게 is 스며들다 which means to sink in
체온이 스며들게 isn't a sentence, it's a phrase... if you add 꼭 안아줘, making it 체온이 스며들게 꼭 안아줘, it means "embrace me for your body tempt blah blah blah" basically meaning "i wanna feel you so embrace me"

I hope that makes somewhat of a sense........ ah morning..
