ok, for instance if u wanted to say 'person A or person B'...what would 'or' be then??

OR you could say 혹은, depending on the situation.

again, it depends on the context of the sentence and the nuance you want to express. i wish this was easier, but it's not. here's an example of it being used with a participle.

닥터정이나 재호한테 물어봐. to me, it sounds a little more natural and fluent than writing:

닥터정 아니면 재호한테 물어봐.

in the above, the participle (이)나 is used for "or."

For the last name 林(Lin or Lim), I saw Jaeho (I think) translate it to 림 (Im, Rim), and while surfing the net, I saw it was also translated as 임. What's the difference between them? Oh and by the way, is this the same word as Lim Jeong Hee or Park Kyung Lim?

^ I'm not good with Hanja, but I can help with your last name. 림 is not a Korean last name, but 임 is, so that would be your last name It's pronounced like "Eem" when speaking in Korean, like Lim Jeong Hee, "Lim" is just the English version of the last name.

Could you give the romanization of your name? I could maybe help you with your first name, then. Your Korean name will probably sound nothing like your own, because I'm Korean and my name is "Ah-Reum" but in Chinese it's "Ya-Lin."

In South Korea, all last names that start with a ㄹ /r/ are changed into ㅇ /no consonant/ because of a government rule thingy... lol So, 리 (ri) = 이 (i), 류 (ryu) = 유 (yu), 림 (rim) = 임 (im), etc. This is why you see people romanizing the names as Lee, Lim, and so on. However, there are some people who choose to keep the ㄹ.

In North Korea, you always keep the ㄹ.

When translating Chinese names, it's better to keep the ㄹ because it seems more... authentic? As in, it keeps some elements of the Chinese roots (Chinese characters).

李 is a very common Korean last name. Most South Koreans have it as 이, while all North Koreans have it as 리.

The South Korean government made a rule that shifts last names and all words that start with ㄹ and ㄴ (ㄴ when connected to certain vowels) to ㅇ and ㄴ (ㄴ when connected to certain vowels). For example, South Koreans call cold noodles 냉면, but it's originally 랭면. S. Koreans also say 여행, 여자, 역사, 이유, but they're originally 려행, 녀자, 력사, 리유. North Koreans do not follow this rule, thus they have kept all the original pronunciations.

but I guess the closest (from what my grandma says) is:

광 - 넓을 광. Wide.
은 - 은 은. Silver.

But again ... it all depends on the Hanja of it ...
