A: We can understand that passwords can be forgotten. However, this is more the reason why you MUST keep your email address on file updated. If you cannot remember your password, the only way to reset it is through a password reset directed to your email address on file. There is no other alternative. This is because there is no 100% way of determining that you are who you say you are. We will NOT reset your passwords for you.

I have a question that is kind of related to this topic: if you can't register using a free email account, then how else are you going to register? I checked the FAQ, but there's nothing in it regarding this. I've seen a topic regarding this question, but I can't find it at the moment.

Oh, cool! Someone above has written that you still can't sign up using free email account. I signed up in July, so I'm not sure if that was before or after the free account rule.

Actually, regarding that free emails thing, I use my SBCyahoo for this account because they didn't let me use a free email when soompi first cra.... Anyhow, I don't use my Yahoo at all and was wondering if I could change it to my hotmail, which I use and check everyday? I know it's not really a good reason ._. But I haven't checked my yahoo in 7 months O_O It's rather bothersome compared to hotmail because I use MSN messenger everyday, and yeah.

Haha, I'm assuming all who've responded to this topic still remember their passwords . As for the free email account thing, I'm quite sure you can change from paid to free. That's what I did because my school email account expired and I'm changing schools. ^^

Yeah Mel, I believe you can as long as you created the account before the whole switch. Since I asked my friend actually signed up on Soompi with this sn and then I logged onto hers to go on Soompi and then I began using her account a ton , so then she told me (since she barely replies/posts) that she'll get a new account and I could change my e-mail to my own. And yeah, I switched it to my hotmail, and Soompi seemed to be fine with it.

I don't like using the same password for everything, I don't feel that it is secure to do so...
so for places I don't log into much, I sometimes forget which password I used to log in
but soompi wise, I don't forget cuz I'm usually on here

i forget my password sometimes too, but i usually use like 5 different passwords for different things, so i'll jsut try all of them til i get it... lol

wow i actually just updated my email information a few days ago.
after readin this im glad i did b/c i thought the email wasnt important.

It is very easy to forget the password if you use the "remember login" feature on many browsers. I use it and haven't actually typed in my Soompi password in years. I have it written down in a log of my IDs and PWs, but right now I couldn't tell you what it is.

I do have a question, though, and I hope someone can help.

Does anyone know where to find a "reset your password" feature on Soompi that does not require being logged in?

A friend's computer crashed, erasing her saved "remember login" for Soompi. She still has the same email address, but since she cannot remember her Soompi password, she cannot logon. When she has tried to create a new ID/PW, she gets the message there is already an account established for that address.

If she could somehow get a request through to Soompi to reset her p/w, it could be sent to her email—which is still valid and on file with Soompi. The problem is how to request a p/w reset in her situation. ???

^ If she remembers her account user name along with her e-mail address, she could always go to

soompi.com/forums > login(not the quick login, but the actual log in page) > forgotten password

and type in her username and e-mail address. The forums will automatically send a link to her e-mail that'll let her access her account and make a new password. ^^

here's something I want to ask coz this happened to my friend yesterday.

since we have been so busy with our summer classes, she didn't get to open her soompi account for weeks and she doesn't use the remember login feature because her sister also uses the same pc. so when we tried opening her e-mail address, it got hacked. so, what is she supposed to do to get her password?

I so seriously thought that the 'q' in "faq' was a 'g' spelling that -word-. I glanced over it and thought: ~someone is having an attitude?~
