Roni Tran Binh Trong is a Finnish singer of Vietnamese ancestry who rose to popularity after placing sixth in Idols Finland 2, the Finnish version of Pop Idol. He was born in 1987 in Thailand but has lived most of his life in Hyvinkää, Finland.

His debut single "Don't wanna be alone" was a radio hit in Finland, and the music video had similar success.

In 2006 he was invited to perform on "Paris by Night 84:Passport to Music and Fashion", a Vietnamese entertainment show. Roni's Vietnamese fanbase exploded instantly after he wowed audiences on the show, where he performed "Call Me", as Paris by Night is watched by millions of Vietnamese across the globe.

Roni is signed to Sony Records.

I'm not the type to watch the whole Paris by Night Dvds, but when I fastforwarded to him, his singing vocals captured me. It was so good, english, vietnamese, or finnish; gees he's definately a gifted singer.

just found out about him a couple days ago while youtubing. Must say that he can sing- but he doesn't seem to have the UMPH! you know? the thing that sets you apart from other singers.

i dun think it's a good thing to sign with PBN... thing with PBN, as is with any other overseas Viet production company, is that they don't train you. you get together and practice for the show they put on, but that's pretty much it. Most overseas Viet artists have real jobs, and singing is only their "nghe tay trai" (left hand job) if you know what i mean. the way it works isn't the same. it's better to do whatever he's doing in Finland right now, make freelance appearances with PBN or Asia, and we'll just support him as it is.
