There have been some legal copyrighting-issues going on with CB today. apparently, stuff from KBS/MBC/SBS could no longer be uploaded on CB's...? I'm just concerned how I'll be able to keep track of our boys' perfs/appearances from now on... perhaps I'm just misunderstanding the news. it seems no one is talking about it here.

This could also explain why till now we still don't get any links to the Choosey Lover dvd clip, eh?

i didn't keep up with the old thread as much as the new thread,
before their japanese album is all over this new thread, can anybody tell me...if there was ever a discussion on "your favourte song from the 3rd album "O""? I've seen people commenting off and on throughout the forum on their 3rd album, how poppish it sounds, how some fans are disappointed and rather liked the 2nd album better, etcc. DO NOT get me wrong, i don't want to see a lot of criticism, i just want to get a wider view of the soompier's perspectives on the 3rd album, musically speaking. I know we love to spaz about DBSK's new pictures, airport pictures, heck any pictures and video clips, but was there a serious discussion about how their 3rd album's vocals in the OLD Thread? I tried backlogging a lot of times, and didn't seem to come across any of this music discussions. (probably because we were soo happy about them being on x-man when the 3rd album came out =D)

^ ^ Hey nice to start some serious discussion.. Here's my 2cents. IMO, 'O' Jung.ban.hap is better than Tri-angle and Rising Sun. I don't know, maybe they are getting more familiar and good at presenting a song with their voices or what. I don't get why there are people saying that 3rd album is very poppish as compared to the previous 2. IMO, the 1st and 2nd albums were just about the same on the "poppish" scale. (LOL. IF there's such a thing and IF you get what I mean.) Yeah. A couple of songs got stuck onto me for quite a while... Like 'O' Jung.Ban.Hap. itself. I find that it's a really "sticky" song. Like the song keeps playing in your mind. Sometimes I will start to hum it and won't realise it until after quite some time. HEH. And the contents are quite meaningful. It's not some mindless upbeat song without a meaning to it... It just exist for the sake of sticking to people's minds like urm... I know there are such types of english songs, but I just can't think of a good example. I like I'll Be There as well. The vocals in it were like PWOAR kind of strong. The harmony is smooth on the ears as well. I like You Only Love. (but in the previous thread, there were quite a couple of people who said they don't like it... X) maybe I'm weird.) One huge potential acapella-to-show-of-vocals song. ((: Phantom, You're My Miracle, Hey! girl,... All are nice songs. IMO, it's an album well done. Maybe they didn't have enough time to put in extra effort in the album. Otherwise, I think the album will show more of their improvement. IMO, they already showed an improvement as compared to their last (Rising Sun). It would be better if they were able to put in more time for the promotion. (OK. I know they do not have the luxury to do so.) Not like they needed it, but I guess, it would be nice to see another MV done for the album. (Oops. I wrote an essay...)

Tsk, in the 'O' picture... Jae insisted on flexing his muscle. They have this cute behaviour... of simply wanting to flex their muscle when they are taking pictures in sleeveless tops. AHAHA.

Hm, the 'O' album, I don't think we've had a real discussion yet, or have we? lol, anyway... my thoughts... It was actually when their third album, 'O' came out that I began to really love DBSK. You hear improvement in their vocals and the songs were nice. 'O' was a catchy song and so was 'Phantom', which I personally enjoy listening to so much, but sadly they didn't do much with it. I'm glad they sang it at their concert though. The ballads were soothing to the ears, as always, they harmonize so well. And as a whole, I think 'O' was a more mature album compared to 'Rising Sun' and 'Tri-Angle'. I can't say if I like 'O' more than their previous albums, because many of my favorite songs are in their 'Rising Sun' album, but 'O' was definitely a nice production. ^.^

my own two cents on their 3rd korean album:
"O" was the most striking song from the album. The lyrics were critical of the society, and I loved the meaning behind it. The tune was also amazing, because the song stuck to me for a really really long time. many people have mentioned that dbsk's lyrics are "Not your average boyband lyrics" - I totally agree. The "Thesis-Antithesis-Synthesis" argument is very thought-provoking.

Balloons - everyone loved it. I fell for the song when I saw Yunho in pink in SBS Share the Love concert
Listening to the song made me very happy, and made me feel like a kid =D

You Only Love: As pwenzi said, I felt that this is a definite "potential acapella-to-show-of-vocals song". Loved the melody, Loved the piano background. Loved the vocals. and definitely Loved the harmonizing. I definitely fall for acapellas. This song is really close to an acapella in my opinion. (I think I'm weird too =D, if a lot of people said that they didn't like this song)

You're My Miracle: is it me, or does this song have a very jazzy feel to it? Maybe because of the refreshing beats.

Hey Girl: An R&B vibe. Sexy vocals, i think. By that i meant the low vocals were kept really soothing, while the high vocals were very enpowering.

On & On: I thought I was an average song at first, but the chorus became addictive. again and R&B vibe to me.

White Lies: kudos to Junsu's composition. Loved everyone's vocals in there.

Get me some: If only the english parts made more sense, it would become an excellent fast song. =P Somehow I didn't connect with "get me some of that" and other english phrases. But nice vocals. Gosh, why do these guys sound nice when they sing just about anything!!!

Phantom - another upbeat song full of meaning and strong vocals. Loved it very much.

You're My Miracle, Remember, I'll Be there (strong strong vocals), and The story just began are all very powerful slow songs. The accompaniments were very unique, I'd say. So it wasn't not very "poppish" - by that i meant, not really conventional. You know how sometimes when hear the first part of the song, you know how the tune for the next part will sound like? Well, When I first heard these songs, I couldn't guess the tunes at all. I love all of these songs, but I'd say that they are not the average slow ballads you normally listen to, because the tune and the beat are very original (in my opinion, because the tune totally took me by surprise, as I explained)

Overall I thought the vocals were amazing (as usual). My favourte song has to be You Only Love, because I loved their harmonizing skills =D
Compared to Rising Sun, this has a less "rock" feel, their first single again takes on a very deep meaning, but this time it's a less optimistic outlook on society, instead of sending out the "waiting for rising sun" message, which had a very positive message as well as outstanding vocals.

I have to say songs like "One", "Unforgettable", and "Tonight" were all very strong in vocals, but they have that "I can expect how the next part of the melody is going to be like" feeling, unlike some of the slow ballads in the 3rd album ("You're My Miracle", etc)

if i had to make any comparison, I would say Beautiful Life and You're My Miracle both have a refreshing feel to it. One is heavy R&B tune with a different vocal technique, and one has a nice jazzy melody attached. Both are amazing. (Oh, I forget my acappella - "Always There"! Totally amazing, just like You only Love. =D)

But if someone asked me, which album I liked better, I would not be able to answer that question. I find it hard to decide because 1) their vocals are always as strong as ever, 2)the messages they sent out both have multiple layers of meaning.

To be perfectly honest, I've been a very late fan. I think I started liking DBSK around the time their 3rd album came out. Before that I really thought they were just another boyband that tried to look cool. I've only seen a picture of their Rising Sun album, (and I didn't like the graffitti/rockerish style at all). And almost all the kpop websites i went to had a gazillion dbsk download and gallery threads, I just thought...meh..boybands, and never clicked on any of them. But i think super junior changed my mind about boybands (I loved watching Full House), and one day i just happened to click on the DBSK thread at soompi, and boommm my love for them blossomed =d haha. I fell for their acapellas almost right awaya. and then i loved their humor and dorkiness. their looks...grew on me =D

I completely agree. 'O' is a very nice, more mature album, and 'O' is definitely a very catchy song. I couldn't stop singing it for weeks! LOL. When it comes down to my favorite songs, it's mostly from the 'Rising Sun' album such as 'Tonight', 'Unforgettable' («- my favorite song, which I listen to everyday haha), 'One', and 'Always There'. But, as for the 'O' album, my favorite songs are 'O' and 'll Be There'. But, yeah, that's my opinion lol

uru: i didn't bring it up here cuz it doesn't completely concern the boys. but yeah, there are tighter restrictions with CB in regards to MBC/SBS/KBS shows/dramas. but m.net and others are fine. the only time the boys will be affected is if they're on variety programs or the music shows on the weekends. that won't be for a while though since they're concentrating on japan this year. =) it is a real pain though.

Basically i love all of their songs, and as you said O is more mature and soothing, but i also like their previous albums, cos it always has very lovely songs which are very nice to listen.




I don't think it's the same thing, cos Concert photobook is just like The Prince in Prague photobook like a photo album, and that item ijust contains 10 photo sets plus a sticker and it only costs around $6 US (pretty cheap though ^^)

wow. well. i didnt knw that. wow. erm. im still a bit dumbfounded. i mean, we wont be able to watch some of the shows already? well, that's too bad!! aww.. first japan shows, now even korean shows?? sheeeshhh~~



well. it seems that we have not really talked about this? IMO, the 'O' album is the best yet. it is a good mix of fast and upbeat songs and ballads. The boys showed very tremendous improvements vocally. I have to mention this is especially true for yunho and changmin. It is very obvious that they improved a lot, compared to previous albums. I agree that 'O'-Jung.Ban.Hap is a very addictive song. I got so addicted once that i kept blasting it into my ears nonstop for the whole day. Yes. It is THAT good. I have to say that my favourite song of the whole album is 'Hey!Girl'. I thought the song really bring out the best vocal out of the boys. It is one of the songs that truly shows their strong vocals. Simlar with 'Tonight'. It shows their superb vocals to the best! Not to mention, the song is very sexy on its own. Which makes their vocal totally sexy and to-die-for. It has that strong R&B feel to it. Other songs are really good as well, but i have to say that 'Hey!Girl' is my favourite frm the first time i heard the album and i still love it till now. one thing that i really look forward is their upcoming albums. this album being so nicely done with a good blend of songs makes me wanna hear more frm them. i fell in love with this album the very first time i heard it. a very very good album indeed!!

Kudos to junsu oppa too. For being able to write such a beautiful song. His 'White Lie..' has a very addictive harmony and the lyrics are extremely sad but beautiful too. The lyrics are simple, yet has very deep meanings. Once, I actually cried very badly listening to this song. The way they sang it was really good too. Brought out the best in them. I am totally hooked to this song. This song truly showed his ability in composing and writing songs. We seem to be unable to see that side of him due to all the 'cute' tag that of course he so totally deserve. It is about time we see that side of the boys, the creative musician side of the boys. Yoochun and Yunho also showed their creative side by writing their own songs. They are not just eye candies anymore the more we get to know them. I also thought this side of the boys are not truly appreciated and exposed. Many people still see them as a 'pop-idol-dancing-group'. I prefer 'talented-group'. It is my hope to see an album by them fully done with self-composed songs one day. I see that day coming really, with all the talent that they own. The focus should be on their talent from now onwards. It will be some time before the focus is totally on their talent with the boys looking so gorgeous and sexy all the time, but we fans who love them knows what great talent they are, right? That is the most important thing!

ok and concerning their albums, i still stick firm by my opinion that their 'Rising Sun' album was the best...i dont know, mebbe im biased because 'One' and 'Tonight' happen to be my most favourite dong bang songs EVER [the top 2 in my korean ones, 'My Destiny' is my top favourite as the japanese one]....or mebbe im biased because i also loved their style concept in that album much much MUCH more than the Triangle album or O...the BLACK SUITS+tees underneath.....the slick, SHORTER, coloured hair [yunho+GREY HAIR = DRRROOOOOOLLAABLE LOVE]...the leather gloves.....
i dont know about you, and it may seem stupid for saying this but 'Tonight' is the one song to make me...DREAM....it melts me everytime i see that video clip, and i dunno...i might not be making sense but i ...FEEL something when i watch it....more than any other dbsk clip....and fantasising seems all the more real. just for that song....anyway. i think they couldv done a lot more with their o album, as i only really loved 'hey girl' and 'o' straight out.....but thats only my opinion, so.....yup=]

and yeah. the first time i heard Hey Girl? i literally choked. and started squealing nd hyperventilating. such a sexy song!

I'm glad to see dicussion 'bout their 'O' album ^^ i have never seen a topic like this in this thread ^^' at the time DBSG released 3rd album, most of ppl had paid attention to their new image, their perf and the shows they join...

Honesty, I dislike this album.
First, I fell in love w/ DBSG from their accapella song, but a long time I haven't heard accapella from them and I can't find those in their 3rd album.
Second, an album with many ballads song bother me. The songs i like most (Hey Girl, Get Me Some..) is all remake (expect 'O').
Third, I prefer Tri-Angle to 'O' ^^ (can't dany it's a great song too XD)

I though SM hadn't planned DBSG to prepare this album well. The boys too busy w/ their activities at Japan and Asia...


Edit: wow, Choosey Lover #4 in Oricon chart it's not really a great song, but i love it, love it more than their Japanese songs before. Wish all the best to our boy
