KBS Radio recently made a list of 100 songs that made history in the Korean pop music world in the past 80 years and it was Kim Gun Mo's "A Bad Meeting" that ranked at the top spot.

Kim Bum-ryong took the 2nd place with "Wind, Wind, Wind" while Lee Sun-hee placed 3rd with "To J".

Kim Gun Mo is a national celebrity. He debuted in 1991 and released more than 10 albums. His 3rd album, which contained memorable songs, sold more than 2.5 million copies. This made it possible for Kim Gun Mo, named the "National Singer", to enter the Korean Guinness Book of Records.

We heard that a group of familiar faces were going to be returning to steal the spotlight! The "oh-so-sweet," Park Ji-yoon! Super rookie, Lee Chun-hee! And a legend in K-pop, Kim Gun-mo! So, what were they planning on doing? We'll find out in just a second -

The filming started VERY early on a beautiful spring morning. And the first person we ran into today was pretty singer, Park Ji-yoon. The shoot continued late into the night - with a water truck brought it.
They started a rainfall, adding romance to the scene... Could we expect a shared kiss tonight?

Rainfall cloaked the dark night, but Park and Lee Chun-hee were safe and cozy underneath an umbrella.
There weren't going to be any sweet kisses, but we could still feel the strong bond of love between them! Meanwhile, a satisfied Kim Gun-mo was watching the scene on a monitor. 11 was off to a great start!

A pair that we hadn't seen in quite some time - returning with a vengeance to the spotlight! Singer Park Ji-yoon and actor Lee Chun-hee. Plus 15-year veteran of K-pop, Kim Gun-mo with his ELEVENTH album! That was the music video shoot for ‘Scarecrow’.

Singer Kim Gun-mo has been a mainstay in the Korean entertainment world for over 15 years, releasing 11 albums since he debuted in 1992.

Kim will perform at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts in Seoul to correspond with his 11th album, “Huhsooabi/ Scarecrow” released in March.

”Tribute To You” is the singer’s way of saying thank you to his beloved fans, who have stuck by him throughout the years.

Collaboration: Lee Hyo Ri & Kim Gun Mo

Creating a lot of interest at the moment is the news of Lee Hyo Ri and Kim Gun Mo’s duet song, which is included in the former’s 3rd album. This track was recorded with utmost secrecy and was only revealed to the public a month before Lee Hyo Ri releases her anticipated new album.

“The album is scheduled to be out in mid-July. Park Geun Tae, Kim Do Yeon and other new composers have all pitched in for Hyo Ri’s new album, which will have a different feel from what she did before,” announced an Mnet Media official.

Kim Gun Mo, on the other hand, is also preparing for his new album.

I really like the song that KGM did with Hyori... it's really nice and then he happend to release an album soon after Hyori did and I DL it... LOVE it... I like his style, it's different.

I really like his voice! I first heard him at Mnet 20. I love the song that he sang with SNSD. Saranghae? But I can't find an mp3 version of it. Or the original version.

I love him. He is the main reason I started listenting to Kpop. I love his songs so much: Pinggae, Speed, Jal mot dwen mahn nam, Seoul eh dahl, Mi ahn hae yo....the list goes on! His voice is so unique and his stage presence is HUGE for such a small stature. He's a living legend. Ughs. I can just rave and rave about him.

I remember...I used to want to get married to him. he was my first kpop crush. haha!

Kim Gun-mo to Kick off a Concert Tour
2009-02-17



Acclaimed pop singer Kim Gun-mo will kick off a nationwide tour in April. At a press conference held at Sejong Center for Performing Arts in Seoul Tuesday, Kim resolved to take the concert tour as an opportunity to start fresh from scratch. He said he will think of himself as a rookie singer and try harder to jumpstart his career.

Kim has paired up with his old producing partner, Kim Chang-hwan, after 13 years. The reunion has prompted the Korean pop star to show diverse aspects about himself and his music. This tour is Kim’s first one in three years. Former dancing duo Kang Won-rae and Koo Jun-yeop will join Kim in the “Soul Groove” concert with Kang in charge of choreography and Koo overseeing stage production.

Having debuted in 1992 and released 12 regular albums to date, Kim is an undisputed icon of the Korean music industry. His tour will start in Seoul on April 8th and held in 10 major cities nationwide.
