^ That's really pretty !! My favorite shade of purple. <3
I just wish the purple ring is thicker, so that the color really covers the real color of the eyes.
QUOTE(Bellie Button @ Sep 16 2007, 05:47 PM)

I'm planning on buying some circle lenses, but I have a couple questions since I'm new to them.
-How do you know what the base curve of your eyes are?
-How do you put them in and take them out?
-Should I go to the optometrist just because before I get contacts? (I have 20/20 vision, so I'll probably get planos.)
-Which contacts have the most water content? (Nudys?)
Thanks!~

i dunno, optometrist is useless to me.
She gave me freshlooks and acuvue2 color, both were failures.
I've 20/20, but when I wore those brands, my vision was very blurry and had eyes irritation.
She couldn't figure out why I had those problems

Nudy is the best <3. Clear vision and high water content

Wow, are those your real eyelashes? If they are, I'm so jealous. I've got like ten stick-straight, super-thin, quarter-inch lashes on each eye, haha. Yours look so full and feathery. The contacts look great on you, too.

Am I the only one that thinks that Nudy lenses are not all that comfortable ?
I bought Nudy Brown because I wanted a pair of visible brown lens. I like the color and all but they move around A LOT when I wear them, I think it's due to the high water content and the fact that I have watery eye balls... lOL but yeah I can't wear them to lectures and stuff. I find bescon lenses A LOT more comfortable (I can wear them up to 8 hours without using eye drops and throughout the day I sometime forget that I'm wearing lenses).
If they move around alot its possible that their base curve doesn't fit your eyes. They only fit if your eyes' base curve is plus/minus 0.2 I think.

Ummm I've tried Free Teen Circle Brown... the brown isn't very visible if your eye color is naturally dark.QUOTE(boatswain @ Sep 16 2007, 09:24 PM)

It's not base curve for sure. Nudy's BC is 8.6 and all of my other lenses are all 8.6 and none of them ever slide around like the Nudy Brown.

Are you sure you didn't order the PRE-ORDER lens, because those lens take about 2 weeks to arrive to the seller, since they have to order it from their manufacturer itself and then once it arrives to the seller, they ship it to you.

Because i wanted to get a pair, and i wonder if its comfy to wear.

Sep 17 2007, 05:52 AM
^ Well, each brand varies per person. I think the Bescons have the most "realistic" look so far. Nudy's are really pale and really bright and have the highest water content. Dueba's are supposedly the best selling in Korea and are the thinnest lenses that you can get out there (I think?)... G&G's are probably the most "uncomfortable," but aside from my issues with my mild astigmatism, I find them perfectly comfortable. A little "heavy" (if anyone can understand what that feels like), but that might be because I haven't cleaned them properly? I have OLD OLD solution that you still have to rub and basically I think it left some alcohol residue on the lenses which is why they felt kinda "heavy." I might have to buy those protein enzyme tablets to help make them feel more comfortable.
As long as you take care of them properly and carry around rewetting drops, you should be fine.
But yes, it's Bescon Tutti [color]. Bescon is the brand, Tutti is the "model."
I was gonna get Nudy's because I get chronic dry eyes, but my friend told me that they look really freaky on her and since we have similar features (small eyes, simliar skin tone, etc) ... I decided to lay off because I want a more realistic everyday look. So I settled for Dueba's which I think are also really popular in terms of color as well... I really want to get a pair of Tutti grays though because... hehe... I want JaeJoong eyes!

^Your friend is right though. Nudy lenses are a bit difficult to pull off because they're so light in colour, and the design looks strange unless I'm wearing strong eye makeup to offset it. So in other words, not very natural, but for some occasions, unnatural is good ;] They're still not the first thing I'd reach for as daily wear, though.
I think I'm in the minority about their comfort too....well, technically they are comfortable, but they don't seem to stay in one place once put on, to the effect that I can literally feel the lens moving with every blink....I can only imagine how disconcerting it is for other people to try and maintain eye contact while your lens are jumping up and down.

The B.C of the nudy's are the same as any other contact lens I have worn in the past, yet they still refuse to settle in place, damn things...
Also, I keep hearing that Nudy's have the highest water content, but I checked last night, and both of my bottles are clearly marked as 38%, which is the same as the lens manufactured by Bescon and G&G. So I'm wondering what's up with that since on the website it says 42% as well...unless my nudy's are counterfeit? :[ Hopefully not...

Yeah, I photoshopped myself wearing the Nudys before I decided on my purchase. Granted, it's probably not the most reliable or accurate method, but it was the easiest since I haven't seen anyone modeling Nudy Greys yet. Just brown or blue or the violet. She said the same thing about makeup, but she has single eyelids (and so do I) so it makes things even more complicated when getting up in the morning b/c she said that without double eyelids AND makeup it looks weird.... Still, when it's the same (or about the same) price for lenses for everyday wear or occaisional wear (and let's face it, only with Halloween coming up do I have an "occaision" to wear bright circle lenses to) ... no point, right?
So I settled for Dueba DM23 Greys. We'll see how that goes in a few weeks time. I'll post pics if I remember.
Oh and about the contacts settling... it varies per person. When I was fitted for contacts (oh so many years ago), my optometrist commented that my eyelid was VERY tight against my eyeball and therefore my lenses had to accomodate for that as well. I used to wear Bausch & Lomb contacts (now I think they're called SofLens 59? I used to wear TwoWeeks) but they were constantly moving around... but I think that was because my eyelid was so tight against my eyeball that it would irritate the lens. I don't have a problem with the G&Gs though.. but I haven't worn them for a prolonged period of time (like an hour max) recently. So that could just be it. I don't think there's any way to tell except unless you're a professional. Chances are you didn't get counterfeit lenses (I sure hope not cause we ordered from the same seller!) but that contacts are different for just about everyone.

I tried both the bescon and G&G lenses I bought - they were both comfortable, but for some strange reason my eyes can't wear the nudys - as soon as I put them in, my eyes begin to tear up and it stings like crazy - so I have to try around 10+ times before I can even stand having it on my eye....which sounds pretty bad. ^ Seems to me that we all bought from the same seller....I noticed that too with my lenses - it only hurts in my left eye, (sometimes my right too though) and no matter if I turn it inside or inside out, the stinging sensation is still there. And after it goes away....(which would be after a good ten minutes or so) my eyes are irritated just like yours, and the stinging sensation will come back periodically throughout the day if I look in certain directions suddenly, or close my eyes. Also, if I could count on one hand the number of times I was temporarily blinded as the lens slid up and down my eye during class, I would seriously have a mutated left hand. Or right, whatever floats your boat. >_>

would contact the seller with my concerns but I don't want to throw around any accusations about his source until I have concrete proof that the lenses are in fact counterfeit. Less trouble for everyone, no?
But as
Nanshi said, the lens fit everyone differently - most of us are not so much complaining about the seller, but about the fact that the Nudy lens did not fit us properly and were uncomfortable. (and therefore were a waste of money to us lol) By comparing sellers we are able to get a better idea of where all the problematic nudy's are coming from, and know who to contact in the case they are fake/defective lenses - but don't think we are blaming the seller. I myself doubt think the seller in question is selling counterfeit/defective lenses, and even if he was, not on purpose - he has a very good selling reputation and I've been happy with the two other circle lens pairs I bought from him.

the same thing happened to me from the same seller. I was highly annoyed and i lived too far to ship them back to him. Im out $40 US and im pissed

Whoohoo! I finally got around to posting the lenses I got from korea~
I forgot the exact names, but I think one of them was from EOS... *shrugs*
I was looking for a darkkkk blue color, so I got this one, which is basically dark blue, but when you put it on, the blue color barely shows... It's all black, except in bright lighting where you can see the navy blue color... But most of the time, it's black

AND THEN! I found these lenses and fell immediately in love! The optometrists in Korea let you try on all the lenses on display, which I know is really unsafe, but that's the only way you know what looks good... but yeah, I love grey and violet contacts, and this has both colors in one! You can also see a bit of blue too, which gives it a complex gray color, and it even looks violet under indoor lighting. The guy said that this lens came out only two months ago, and it's a big hit.... and it is quite pricy, but heck, I know I can't find this in the states so I just bought it, haha~

This is under indoor, with camera flash, and natural bright lighting:

Ahhh~ I love these~ And so comfy to wear too <3

I have no idea... I think it's by EOS, but I'm not sure... All I know is that the color is gray, haha~
The lenses when I bought them do come in the glass vials, but the optometrist guy put them in cases for me, so I didn't get the chance to find out the name

I noticed that too with my lenses - it only hurts in my left eye, (sometimes my right too though) and no matter if I turn it inside or inside out, the stinging sensation is still there. >_>
I have seen alot of users saying the nudy makes your eyes stings. I'm a Nudy user and i had this experience before. I put it on and suddenly it stings so much which made my eyes teary and red, i took it out and clean it again but it was the same! I figure that maybe it was my sterilizer so, i open a new bottle of sterilizer and there is no more stinging sensation. Maybe it's the sterilizer rather than your Nudy so, maybe you would want to try cleaning your Nudy with a new bottle of sterilizer?

And i brought my nudy from one singapore yahoo seller...it says 38% water content too...
