IM SORRY TO BE REALLY OBNOXIOUS BUT THIS IS AN EMERGENCY I LEAVE ASIA TOMORROW
AND NEED TO BUY LENS ASAP BEFORE I GO BACK HOME TO THE STATES!

URGENT LAST MINUTE QUESTION SPLS HELP!!

K HERE IT GOES:

1.)
Does anyone have experience with Johnson & Johsnon Acuvue "Define" Black circle lens? (they are daily disposables)

Isnt johnson & johsnon acuvue much more well known and reliable than these other brands? (Bescon, tutti, etc. or whatever)
why do people choose the other ones versus johnson & johnson???? must be a reason??

[img]http://www.define.com.sg/images/faq_pic_01.jpg

2.)

Are all circle lens ONE SIZE Only?

i dont need prescription im only wearing them for fun, but doesnt everyone have different shaped/size eyes?
is one size fits all safe ??

3.)

is it okay to use regular eyedrops in ur eyes while ur using contact lens or do u need special eyedrop??

K THANKS GUYS!!

1. Most of my friends from Singapore use or have used Acuvue Define lenses. They've had no problems with them. And Johnson & Johnson probably only sounds more reliable to ppl from countries in which J&J has a large market share, like the U.S. It's not the same for people in Asia. Also, circle lenses from Korea, for example, come in many many different colours and designs and such. From what I know, Acuvue Define either has one with a black outer ring or a brown outer ring, both of which are clear in the middle.

2. Yes, everyone has different shaped/size eyes. This is primarily corrected by getting a lens with your closest BC (base curvature). And yes, most circle lenses are BC 8.6. But there are a few that are BC 8.5 and a few that are BC 8.4. Besides that however, yes the diameter of circle lenses will be 14.0-14.2, and that really shouldn't matter unless your eyes are very very small.

3. You don't necessarily need special eyedrops, but those specifically formulated for contacts work better. It's your choice. I had a friend who just put droplets of contact solution directly into her eyes (not recommended).

Any guesses what color Jae's are?

hi hi :)ok about number 2...how would u get a lens closest to ur BC if most circle lens are BC 8.6?
is it bad for the health of ur eyes if you wear lenses with a base curve of 8.6 even though you arent?

i guess the diameter doesnt matter since they are circle lens and only colored on the outer edge.is the quality of daily disposables better than the ones that last a month long?

what are the advantages of using ones that last longer? it would seem like the daily disposables are the most hygenic and cleanest

omg~ how can u guys tell??? i had no idea.. sleep.gif i still dont see where its photoshopped

laugh.gif Well, you know, NORMAL human beings dont have eyes the size of a tennis ball.
And her pupils are way too large and around... normal circle lens usually cover alot
of your eye but not to that extent. And her eyelashes are photoshopped too.

*shrugs*maybe I notice these things cause I do graphics on photoshop alot.

i know they have different prescription strength but dont these circle lens contacts all come in one size only in regards to the base curve???

i went to a storein taiwan and they said the acuvue ones come in one size only

It's fine. Not all circle lenses come in the same base curve, but most have similar base curves, but that's because most contact lenses have similar base curves.

The Acuvues probably do come in one size only, but it may vary between other lenses.

Hers look like my Aryan tear grey lenses. She just didn't use flash so it's not crazy bright. smile.gif
Without flash, it can look kinda natural, just like your eyes are a little extra shiny.

Wow~ I just stumbled on this topic of single lid double lid and fakeness. x_X;; Kinda scary. Since I don't usually comment in soompi, but I usually visit this thread to see everyone with their circle lenses. I didn't even consider all those natural look and how people wear them specifically. I wear mine cause I like the blue eyes. ^^;

Hey, you probably left Asia already, but I'll reply anyway just in case. ><

Yes, the Acuvue Defines are circle lenses. She was just confused, probably b'cuz the Defines aren't sold in the west.

You can wear a different BC, but it'll be slightly more uncomfortable, b'cuz they'll slide around in your eyes a bit. I wear a BC 8.3, but all of my circle lenses are 8.6. It's not a huge inconvenience, and you really only have to worry if your eyes are super super sensitive.

And the quality doesn't differ, but you're right dailies are the most hygienic. However, most circle lenses are annuals. Overall annuals are cheaper, and most ppl don't wear a specific circle lens every single day. Most ppl usually have many circle lenses that they switch off amongst, so you get more of your money's worth if each lasts for a year.

You're lucky you can even wear colored contact lenses. I can't even wear colored contact lenses because not only is my astigmatism really really bad (like 170 on one side), my vision is bad also. sad.gif I really don't think contact lenses of any kind make your vision any worse unless you wear them in a way that is not recommended (like wearing them for LONG periods of time, not taking care of them/cleaning them properly, not washing your hands before putting in contacts, etc.). I've been wearing contact lenses for like 9 years and although my vision has gotten worse (which is normal for most people), it hasn't gotten terribly worse. And once you finish growing, your vision most likely will not change (mine has stayed the same for the past few years), unless it's because of old age.

i feel you guys sad.gif

I was merely unaware that there are dailies for circle lenses, since I'm only looking into getting my first pair as well. WELL I got the Acuvue lenses and HERES MY REVIEW:

IM MAD!

1.) the acuvue dailies circle lenses slide around my eyes when i first put them on..it moves less after like 5 min but still they move around alot, is that normal?! the lady at the eye place said my BC is about right for the contact lenses so it shouldnt be a problem....she told me that most people who wear contact lens, the lens doesnt ever stay perfeclty in place and that it will move around slightly WAS SHE LYING?! if so im pissed!lol

2.) also i find that when i take pictures of myself with flash i can actually SEE the grey circle part of the lens so it looks really fake. shouldnt the ring be darker??? wheni take pics of myself iwthout flash its not so bad

3.) i cant tell which side is the rigth side and which side is the wrong side....it forms a "perfect" bowl shape no matter what side i flip it..how can u tell which side is right???

Well, obviously it's going to look fake when it's taken with flash.
It's not like you will be in super bright lighting everyday in life, so it won't look fake
unless you're taking pictures WITH flash. So it doesn't really matter...........
I can't really answer your question about the shifting thing, though.
However, I have a friend whose lens ALWAYS shift, she says it's better
because then more oxygen get to her eyes instead of it staying in one place? I don't know.... -.-
About the flipped lens thing, do the colors look different on the sides? You most likely will know when
the lens is flipped because it will HURT. Trust, me.

-----------

May's lens do look a bit photoshopped like pandaradar said, but the effect sort of remind me of those anime lens.
I'm planning to get myself a pair of BT02 violets. Hopefully, the color won't be as vivid as SM purples, I want a violet with a grey-ish tone to it. ^3^
I don't think I'd ever get green because I might end up looking freaky @___@;;

I think you definitely took my statement the wrong way, b'cuz I wasn't insulting your intelligence in any way. I was trying to say that you probably didn't know that Acuvue had a line of circle lenses, called Acuvue Define. And there was a great possibility that you did not know this b'cuz you were from the west (and actually all I said was that Defines were not sold in the west). Please don't take things out of context, and then make sarcastic comments towards me when you took the offense where it was not intended. I feel that I made a fair assumption, and if you were really that offended by my simple comment, that I apologize for not being more specific.

hey im numbering my response . smile.gif

1.)

I just think it would look better in flash if the "ring" were darker...are all circle lens rings as light as the acuvue ones??

they look kinda "grey" wouldnt it be better if it were actually black because then it would show up darker on pics with flash.

2.) how come ive seen other people take pictures with flash and it looks totally normal???? sad.gif

3.) about the colors looking different no they look the same no matter what side i flip it which is why im really confused
mellow.gif

4.) lastly, has anyone tried leaving their lenses out in the air ?? i tried doing that just to see what would happen and it turned into a crispy plastic! what if u left them in ur eyes for a long time and they dried out like that?

sorry for all my newbie question!!

4.) lastly, has anyone tried leaving their lenses out in the air ?? i tried doing that just to see what would happen and it turned into a crispy plastic! what if u left them in ur eyes for a long time and they dried out like that?
sorry for all my newbie question!!

1. Nope not all circle lens ring are as light as the acuvue ones. My G&G black was quite dark ><;

2. Most probably Photoshop! Or different angle?

3. I have that problem when i had my first lens! But if you look really carefully, you would see a bowl shape and another with the end with - this end!

4. I tried with my one day freshlooks! Lol it just dry out and look so much smaller! Don't worry of leaving it in your eyes and it'll dry up like that since our eyes has moisture in it so the contact lens kind of took the moisture from our eyes, your eye would probably feel dry after a long period of time. Use some eye drop to moisturize your eyes! But if you don't and wear it for a long time your contact lens would be too dry and drop off! That would rarely happen =) But it happen to my friend once =.=;

Hope it helped and answered your questions!

nope. before i got my lenses, my mum was trying to freak me out by saying how it'll be seriously weird poking my finger in my eyeball but i was like, yeah whatever. it totally doesn't hurt unless you like, accidentally scratch your eyes if you have long nails. i've gotten so used to putting them on i usually put them on without a mirror. but i think practice makes it much easier.

If "she was just confused probably b'cuz Defines aren't sold in the West." wasn't an implication that I am supposedly from the west, then I really don't understand in what other way that you could interpret that comment. I'm not taking things out of context, nor am I being sarcastic, I am merely sticking up for myself. I am an outspoken person, and if I think that certain comments are targeted at me, then I will defend myself. And yet again, you're assuming that I am from the West. And I do find that very insulting.

A question, do most of you buy your circle lenses online?
JJ.exot5ia
hey i was wondering~ which one of these is close to getting the TEAR GREY
effect?

thanks

^ I think bescon crystal brown.
They look really similar, but the "tear" pattern isn't as sharp.
Tube grey also has a similar effect, but I bought a pair and was REALLY REALLY disappointed
because the pattern hardly showed. sad.gif

1.)

I just think it would look better in flash if the "ring" were darker...are all circle lens rings as light as the acuvue ones??

they look kinda "grey" wouldnt it be better if it were actually black because then it would show up darker on pics with flash.

2.) how come ive seen other people take pictures with flash and it looks totally normal???? sad.gif

Do you think you could take a picture of they look like on you? tongue.gif

If you really can't tell which side is flipped maybe you should try both ways? Whichever side is more comfortable, that should be the right side.

Also, about the crispy thing.. well, since your eye has moisture it doesn't turn like that, but you should put eyedrops every now and then.

Yeah. That's the only place I can get them.. =(

I have heard that in... California? I think it was like LA or San Francisco, there's a small shop somewhere that actually DOES sell circle lenses, like in person. I wouldn't know; I'm from the East Coast.

There are some color lenses that can looks quite convincingly like circle lenses, but yeah...

I find it insulting that you didn't even try to look at things from my point of view. I took yours into consideration, and I feel I understood why you took me the wrong way. Then, I attempted to explain my statement further. But you continue to "defend" yourself by insisting that I was targeting you.

And I'm sorry, but why is being from the west an insult in the first place? o_o This, I don't understand in the least. I wasn't making any stereotypes or anything of that nature, so...??? In fact, all you had to do was correct me if I was mistaken. Simple as that.

Defending yourself when you feel targeted is admirable, but I've already pointed out that I wasn't targeting you nor was I attempting to insult you. And I have already apologized as well.

Also, your tone of voice has put me in a position where I feel I must "stick up for myself". PM me if you would like to continue this conversation.

And I've only bought one of mine online, but it seems that many ppl in this thread have purchased theirs online.

i know i know ..her natural eye color but what would look similar to them?
Siv
That photo is without a doubt overly photoshopped. And yes I know she has natural hazel-green eyes, though this particular photo is deceiving.

The only way to acheive a color remotely similar to that photo is by ordering a pair of custom lenses, sorry. sad.gif

Anything else won't be as bright/natural as that.

Tami once posted contacts that looked like that, ... but they cost 300 bucks.

Today I hung out w/ a girl, her eye color looked exactly like that, I liked looking at her eyes, so cool looking.

I was wondering, do Aryan Tears come in prescription?
vaneSTAR
Hey guys,
I was wondering what contacts this Japanese model has on:
(Sorry, I know these are far from great pictures, but I took them from her blog and pasted them together)

I copied and pasted from her blog (and put it on the image) that she said they were "Pi-Kon Brown"s. I've never heard that name before (I'm still pretty new to circle lenses, tho), but I realize it could also be an abbreviation.

So, yeah. I was wondering if any of you guys knew? Or know of a circle lens that has the same effect?
I really love the black ring and how the brown looks.
The pattern reminds me of Tuttis/Geo Angels, but I don't know if their browns come out that light. ohmy.gif

Any help is appreciated! smile.gif
joongified.
^It kinda looks like tutti brown a little >3<

OR maybe it's "Pi-Kon Brown's",,

you just need practice.
in the beginning, took me 30-45 mins to put one in.
now i'm used to it, it takes less than 20-30 secs to put one in.
InfiniteTime
^oh my, thats for the links!
it takes a while yes T__T
the thing is, after i put on my left con i cant put the right con in.
after i grew tired and was like, i'll try tmr and took it off.
i grew curious after a minute or two and put the right one it. first try it went in.
then i tried putting thr left one in.. didn't work -o-;;
this is so fustrating.

was wondering how long it take you to get use to it? o_o
Dollyholic
^ haha i remember the 1st time i got mine i couldn't get them in. my attempt lasted 30 minutes.
finally, one day i decide to try again, and got one in just like you!

it takes awhile to get used to it, maybe 4-6 times of putting them on? bleh

vaneSTAR, i think they look a awfully lot like tutti browns.
maybe it's the lighting she's under that makes it look so sparkly and the speckling effect.
Dang... i just love her eye makeup xD

Has anyone tried Freshkon ones?
I asked for circle lenses at this optical centre & they're selling for $25 CAN.

Uh, excuse me? Lets not generalize here now shall we. Just because I'm in the "West" for college, doesn't mean that I'm from the "West." I was merely unaware that there are dailies for circle lenses, since I'm only looking into getting my first pair as well. You probably didn't mean it this way, but I definitely felt that it was a condescending statement. Kind of along the lines of "oh, she doesn't know anything because she's in the 'west'." Thanks.

probably b'cuz the Defines aren't sold in the west
it doesnt sound like she's saying that you dont know anything if you're from the 'west' mellow.gif

QUESTION:
Uhmm... I'll just ask if the prizes of circle lenses form the net and the ones directly bought from the store are the same..? Are the ones straight from the store cheaper? Coz im thinking if i'll be buying it online.. just curious...
