Hey guys i have a question. I have several pairs of circle lens (around 12) and i've been wearing them for a year. Lately my eyes have been turning red whenever i wear them, Like bloodshot red and a red rim has appeared around my pupil. Is this because of the circle lens? I used to wear them every single day.
Congrats.
You are on the way to getting Pink Eye. The lenses are probably growing bacteria at a rapid rate by now. Regardless of how long you soak them. And the MAX amount of hours you are supposed to wear circle lenses is around 5-6 hours. Regardless of HOW comfortable they feel you are loosing oxygen from your eyes since the lense rim is larger it covers a bigger portion of your eye. Eyes need to breathe too yannoe.
Make sure you are squirting your lens with solution on each side for 5 seconds before you insert the lens into your eye. Regardless of how long they have been soaking overnight some residue may remain. Also when taking your lens OUT of the case its always GOOD to use the pair of TWEEZERS, THE SOFT ONES that usually come with the contact len's case. Then using them to set the contact onto your index finger, this way it minimizes the amount of skin residue left on the contact after handling it.
Also seriously chuck those len's away. A good way to tell if they have residue or have torn edges on them is to hold them up against a bright light, then you can just see through them. If you see nothing wrong with the len's and still feel discomfort THROW THE LENS AWAY!
ALSO its GREAT to use REWETTING EYE DROPS! When your contacts get really dry during the day or have mini discomfort use some REWETTING CONTACT EYEDROPS. I use the Opti-Free Replenish Multi purpose one. Because you should never touch your eyes when your out during the day~ Use it MAX 2-3 times a day. Any more than that and your eyes get drunk
I remember when I had my Aryan Lenses... oh how I loved them... and refused to believe they expired X_X
but then yea I got pink eye. And it sucked.

for the ones that wear non prescription circle lenses but their eye sights haven't been affected what brand do you use? cause now since a lot of ppl say it hasn't affected their eye sight i'm seriously considering it again. also when you initially start wearing it is it a bit blurry cause my friend says that all contact lenses are initially blurry and you just get used to the blurriness.

Here's a question I haven't seen asked yet. A lot of girls at my school wear regular American colored contacts, and most of them have a pixel-y look, like when I'm talking to them and looking at their eyes, I can see the pixels on their contacts (like when you stretch out a picture too big and it gets all fuzzy/squarish). It looks really unappealing, and I don't like it at all! Do circle lens have this effect as well? In some pictures the nudy lens look pixelated, but is that just from super-super-close-up?
Also, which is more comfortable, Tutti Grays or Nudy Grays? It seems like most people say Nudys, but some people said they had stinging?

Another question! ^^;; Has anyone posted pictures of the Neo Two Tones, shown
here? I really want to see the gray and violet. I tried looking back, but I couldn't find any. Maybe I accidentally skipped them?

The comfort level, I guess it depends on your eyes size and curve.
I have nudy green and blue
They are very comfortable.
I've 20/20 eyesight.
Usually I only wear them for up to 8 hours.
Because of my job, I wear them for 10-11 hours before I can take them off.
I don't feel them at all.
They don't sting. I always have my eye drops in my bag, but I've never used it. They are just THAT comfortable.

i'm new to contact lenses,
so.. i have a question for you experts (^o^")
i know there are prescripted and non-prescripted lenses just like glasses,
i personally have a pair of prescripted glasses but i'm thinking of getting contacts instead
you guys posted heaps and heaps of different colored contacts and it really makes me wonder..
can i wear non-prescriped contacts even though i should be wearing the prescripted ones?
and are those contacts with pretty colors prescripted or non-prescipted?
thanks<3

QUOTE(fragment @ Nov 12 2007, 10:10 AM)

yeah i think you mean degree. most (if not all) colored contacts come with degrees. you just have to visit your optometrist to get them. if you don't know what your degree is, they'll just check your eyes for you & find out what your degree is. then you just ask them if they have colored contacts in that degree then you pick & choose & yeah.
contacts have, what i call, two forms of expiry. the production expiry & the disposable expiry. the production expiry is usually a few years, so within those few years you'll have to open the lenses & use them. if you still have unopened lenses after that expiry date has passed, you should just chuck them away. you can find the production expiry date on the box/bottle that the lenses came in.
the disposable expiry is when you've used your dailies, monthlys or yearly lenses up to it's limit. so for example, if you have monthly colored contacts, you open a set on the 1st of december, then you use it every day for a month. then on the 1st of january, you chuck them away & open up another set of lenses.
kay i hope that made sense cos i use terms that i created for myself to understand x_x
Oooh, I see.
How long do the longest lenses last at the mist? A year?

ok, asian girls! no offense, but when asian girls wear blue lenses it really freaks me out bcuz it makes their eyes look dead....you know like when a person dies and they get that glazed cloudy blue/grey shade in their eyes? that how it looks! if you really want blue eyes girls, make sure to get REALLY REALLY good ones or else you'll look like a living corpse!!!

Yes you can wear non-prescriped ones. When you wear them it'll be like you walking around without glasses. If you degree isn't too high can still can see things clearly without glasses then yes. But if you can't see a thing without your glasses you might wanna get those prescripted onces.
Some of those color contacts only has 20-20.(E.g Violet & Green nudy) Most of them can be prescripted or non-prescripted. Hope it helps.

of cos you can wear non-prescripted contacts if you want, but why would you if you don't have 20/20 vision? you can wear non-prescripted contacts then wear your prescripted glasses though. but yeah, if you don't have perfect vision you should be wearing prescripted contacts or glasses cos if you don't you run a higher chance of your degree getting higher.
most circle lenses come with prescription. the ones that i've heard of that don't are nudy green & violet. for normal colored contacts, i reckon they all come in prescription but you just have to ask your optometrist.

for normal soft contacts (ie. non-circle lenses) the longest i've heard was monthlys. if i remember correctly yearlys are only with hard lenses? but for circle lenses most of them last a year. you'll just have to ask the person you're buying from how long they last.

the "pixel" effect on the Nudy circle lenses are actually the "natural" speckling of the Nudys... I think it's supposed to give your color a more natural appearance? iono.
But the effect is the worst on the Nudy Browns (I've heard), so if you want to get Nudys and don't like the pixelation or the speckling, stay away from the Brown.

Well, most of the contacts in this thread are mainly those of Korean brands if that helped?
Just to be safe, my recommendation will be to go to your optometrist because he/she is probably the one who knows what might suit you best... (?)
Oh. And some of them are actually more expensive in Asia... such as Singapore.

Because of that, I use like gallons of eyedrops a day.

I think it should be tear greys, they have this watery effect that I love... but at the same time, they are still rather subtle.
But tutti greys are my favourites. If you want your eyes to really stand out, go for tutti greys. Personally, tutti greys make the eyes look outstanding.
