Classical music. Chopin's Nocturnes, Debussy's solo piano works, and most def. Grieg's stuff.

yeah i was gonna say that. i like listening to classical music if i'm having a hard time sleeping...except on stormy nights.....then it's just creepy ph34r.gif

I listen to Yiruma also, but I'd highly recommend the Pride and Prejudice 2005 Soundtrack, with extremely beautiful instrumentals.
Also, since this is a Korean forum, I can't not recommend the soundtrack to Spring Waltz, which has many astonishingly soothing instrumentals. ^^
jeezchris.
Yiruma has a LOT of albums. I have 88 songs from 8 of his albums.. and I play those on repeat/shuffle all night long biggrin.gif

Other than that...
Yo-Yo Ma has some good cello stuff..
X Japan has soft songs on the piano and guitar
etc. smile.gif

i really like kind of sad/haunting instrumentals haha i know it sounds creepy. but theres this instrumental i found when i watched 28 weeks later...it's by John Murphy called IN A HEARTBEAT. i think it's really nice to listen to before you sleep even though it's not a very classic music type of sound. Another instrumental i used to listen to everyday before i go to sleep is S.E.N.S.- wish. or i think thats what it's called. it's from this japanese drama i watched a long time ago called "god please give me more time" it's great because theres a violin and a piano version and both of them are good.

^heres a link of the S.E.N.S. instrumental from a guy playing it on piano

^and here's the instrumental to john murphy- in a heartbeat. you can't really hear it but i really like it.

Some Techno/Trance music is also good for you to fall asleep to. The repetition should get you sleep if you're not dancing to it haha

Adagio for Strings - Tiesto
Another Way - Paul Van Dyk
Halcyon on and on or Belfast - Both by Orbital

I find Music Box albums really relaxing...I have BoA's music box album and i listen to it when i want to sleep.
As for instrumentals...I like utada hikaru's intrumentals.

String Quartet Tribute!!!

they release instrumental versions of several different artists and and bands
they've basically made tribute albums to any artist/band you can think of:
Alicia Keys, Weezer, Audioslave, Bright Eyes, 2pac, Fall Out Boy --- and a lot more
heres a list: click

my favorite so far is the tribute to the Red Hot Chili Pepers
-- ironically i dont even like that band but it sounds so pretty when it's instrumental!
