► What does KARA stand for? How did they come up with the name?
--- KARA means "sweet melody" in Greek. When the group got together, they were discussing names. The leader, Park Gyuri, suggested Kara. The members took a strong liking to it, and decided to keep it thereafter.
► What is Kamilia?
--- Kamilia is Kara's official fanclub name. Members of their official website voted on this name. It is Kara + Familia = Kamilia.
► What color is Kara's balloons?
--- A peach color, as you see in this picture:



► What is Park Gyuri's background ethnicity?
--- Gyuri's facial features certainly stand out. There has been no confirmation whether she is full-blooded korean or not.
► Was Jung Nicole born in the states?
--- It is said that Jung Nicole was born in Korea, but moved to the America while she was still a baby. She did not live in California all her life. She was currently residing in California before she went back to Korea to train.
► Did Han Seungyeon live in the US?
--- Yes. In some of her teen years she attended a school in Tenafly, New Jersey.
► I thought Park Gyuri was the one that lived in the US!
--- There has not been any confirmed accounts whether she has or hasn't been in the U.S. It is unlikely that she lived in the America, regardless.
► How long were they trained?
--- Sunghee was trained in 3 years, then other 3 members joined the company & they were trained together in 1 year, and finally debuted under the name "KARA" in March 2007. No official information is revealed but Hara and Jiyoung are believed to have the trainee time of less than half a year.

Jung Nicole is really young compare to the others.......they look like great singers^^

their voices seem mediocre. lols. can't compare to finkl. especially with ock ju hyun's vocals. lols. it seems like wonder girls is the only NEW girl group that's original.

I wish people stop comparing them with finkl, they're kara and not finkl. DSP wants them to be famous as finkl and not the 2nd finkl.

Han Seung Yeon look really scary with the stare.

I watched what would load for me from their debut. Their voices are really high! lol They seem promising. I liked the song. They sounded best when singing together (harmonizing), which makes me look forward to hearing more from them. (:

I like their album.. Almost all of the songs are really nice.

Hmm, they should be compared to FinKL.. DSP used the same formula, so in order to see if it works, you would need to compare. Just as people compare Baby VOX with Baby VOX Re.V. Their song is okay. Somewhat catchy, but they seem to be a step behind in the music. Their debut sounds like something that would've came out from Sugar's 2nd album. Their dancing is in synch though i give them that. Im not sure i really like their concept, but it does give them a distinct look. They aren't as good looking as their previous counterparts.

its a couple of times to like the song. A couple of more performances from them and i might end up liking them.

so far kim sung hee stood out the most out of the entire group. Just her presence and her amazing vocal just make me pay attention to her more. She does look like a mix of park bom and lee hyori and i'd say shes pretty gorgeous ^^.

I thought for a second that the 2nd girl on the picture was the youngest and nicole was like the 2nd oldest or something. She has that mature look and her voice is really good.

In their debut performance, i thought it was pretty good. There were some parts that were out of tune, but hey they just debuted so i'm sure with a couple of more practices and stage appearance they will be more comfortable. I like their "tomboy" image, but if only they had an outfit that was synch with one another. It seems like the stylist didn't know what to do and ended up throwing whatever to put on.

other then that great performance and i'm beginning to like the song ^^.

some of their songs from the album remind me a lot of britney spears - pop-ish sound. i think their album is pretty catchy and good. from the album, it seems as if the girls have pretty stable voices.

Big Bang wrote, composed, and arranged the last two songs for the girls, WOW O.O

Big Bang is sure not just another hip-hop group.

I like them alot cause thier English is good. I like track 3 and the one Big Bang composed for them, Track "Ill Be there" Its very good. I cant believe they havent released a MV yet for thier debut. I hope they do though however. Good luck to this group. Ill be coming here often =]

really? i actually think they can't be compared to wonder girls.
most of them have poor vocal skills. as you can see from
their live performance, a lot of them are "shouting" instead of singing.
but there are other performances that they could get "better" i guess...
i really don't think they can be compared to wonder girls.
i can't find their attraction...but wonder girls in my opinion gave the crowd
the unique appeal and obssession at their first performance.

if they're second finkl, they should have some finkl in them
but i really can't find any finkl in them.
maybe their outfits? i don't know...
they should keep the same concept/style if they're the 2nd finkl

who rapped the part in the beginning? i could barly hear it

I think they are pretty good :] I like their songs on the album, like the song that Big Bang
made for them. Too bad that there is no MVs of them (or am i wrong?) anyways if not. I
sure hope so. They are all pretty, and i'm sure talented as well. I hope they become
successful :] I'm rooting for them <3

Kim Sung Hee and Jung Nicole are really pretty. i can't believe Nicole is that young! she looks so much older. did big bang really composed one of their songs? that's cool. it just so happens to be the one of the ones i actually liked. i'm not really fond of their songs, but i guess they'll grow on me? we'll see.

I don't like that they're being called "FinKL 2", but that's an un-official name so...

nicole (not surprising, since she's fluent in english); she rapped alongside sung hee who harmonized.

i like kara. i like their hip-hop concept that differentiates them from the other new girl groups. i think sung hee is really pretty; she definitely stood out the most to me in the group. she reminds me a lot of hyori and her singing is real nice gyuri looks a lot better in the debut performance than in pics.

is it just me or does the youngest look the oldest? o.O

I hope they improve in thier performances. I think their is one tommorow. Im looking foward to it. I hope they become popular, it seems they have some decent fans screaming for them.

i would have to agree. In the performance, they seemed like they were shouting except for sung hee who did really well singing live, but needs to brush up on holding her tone.

Lets not compare them to wonder girls yet...well see in a couple of performances.

well of course, irony wasn't suppose to showcase their vocals it was to show that they could sing live and dance at the same time. They don't need to show off their voices in a couple of singles or so. I"m sure they want to gradually increase their vocal skills with more songs or singles. If you heard their showcase performance *on the mtv show*, sunyeh and yeh eun really do have powerful voices just that they don't show it in irony. sunyeh singing "stand up for love" and yeh eun using her powerful vocal on "don't cha" they impressed me a lot.


anyways, i know Kara will do really well i see a lot of potential in them. I wish them the best in everything and looking forward in more of their performances!!! ^^.

People are already comparing them to Wonder Girls!
I'm a fan of Wonder Girls coz I think they're really talented and they give such great live performances but personally I think KARA has way better vocals. All of them have singing parts in almost all of their songs. Can't tell whose who yet, but I think their voices are nice.

Their debut was not so great, but I agree with a you guys, they do have a lot of potential.

From all the girls group that have debuted, I think Wonder Girls and KARA are the best ones. They can really sing and dance!! I don't want to compare them since they both did their best and worked very hard. Is really hard for girl groups to success nowadays. But I know the comparisons will always exist >.<

Both did a great job. Both gave a very good LIVE performance and even they all were nervous, they sang very well. Not only KARA went a little bit off tone, Wonder Girls did too. But that doesn't really matter, overall, the performances were great. And the dance too.

I like both styles. But I'm glad to see both are very different. Wonder Girls are sexy/mature image and KARA are more casual and tomboy look which I love!!

I'm really looking foward to more of them!! And hope they have the biggest success since they all deserve it!!

I always thought that Mnet countdown's (that's the program's name, right?) audio is not the best comparing to Inkigayo. So I'm really wanting to see them perform in Inkigayo!! ^^ But they got really nice and strong voices. And I also liked the dance.

personally, i don't understand why everyone thinks wonder girls have POWERFUL a$$ good vocals and are SUPERRR talented..
iono, they are good and all, but their vocals aren't anything to scream about;; and their dancing is....a bit mature for their age..
they can dance, but their sexy image disgusts me a bit...


i like kara cuz they don't try to be sexy and actually present good talent..

wonder girls youngest is 15 years old
they have a different style
so please stop comparing them to wonder girls.

so i'm assuming sung hee is the lead vocalist then nicole and gyuri (sp?) then Han Seung Yeon? hmm...i can't stop listening and watching their performance hehe i like the dance routine. Maybe i'll learn it hahahaha.

Wonder Girls are good, but not that good like everyone said since they just debuted. Same goes from KARA. You can judge them by only learning them for 1 month or even for one day.

In my opinion, Wonder Girls has the sexy/mature style. Not that really sexy compared to many other singers, but they have a little of SEXY image, and you can't say no cuz you can see it from their clothes and performance. I'm not saying is bad, is just a type of image that their company gave them, is not their fault.

Finally watched their performance. I like their style. It's somewhat refreshing and it isn't as revealing/sexy as the new girl groups. Their title debut song is really catchy. Their vocals are pretty strong. They just aren't used to the stage yet. They have potential. A group to look forward too ^^

I will not comment about the bashing whatsoever...but what can I only say is THEY ARE TOTALLY DIFFERENT FROM WONDER GIRLS SO STOP COMPARING...and it's TOO EARLY to compare them....please give Kara some time to reveal their talents.

anyways. I watched their debut yesterday and I have to say I'm so impressed. I love their style 'cause simply unlike other groups who has outifit and such...Kara has a random outfit..and I must say it's a good start for them. I love their songs in their album no matter what people say about it. I don't know if it's just me but I can't sense a FinKL style on them :x but anyways..they're style is unique on my opinion.

Their debut is awsome I think they can make it big.

and mc mong fans got mad....there aren't enough colors for new comers.
i think korea should just lose the whole balloon thing. it's causing problems.
