To tell the truth, since he mentioned that he will take only 4 years to overtake jay chou instead of the 8 years Jacku Wu gave...I dislike him a great deal.

Honestly, all I ever see of him on shows is him singing "Wo Ke Yi" or playing his violin. GOOD GOD. I mean, I acknowledge he's a good violinist, but it's so excessive. And I actually do know someone who can play violin better than him. And he's only 13... but that's because he is a musical genius. Nonetheless, he's rather lackluster.



Yeah, I really doubt he'll overthrow anybody. Yeah, sure, he'll overthrow a few people we haven't even heard of. But... Jay? Okay, no no. He's not going to do that in just 4 years. Jay's been there for more than just a couple of years. It's going to take more than 4 years to do that.

His singing is... meh, too. It's just lackluster. I mean, I acknowledge that he's got great musical skills in composing and such... but maybe not so much in singing. There's not much virtuoso in it. There are a few good songs he has... but that's because I like the music itself, not his singing quite so much.

i love him,seriously. I went to see him singing live and he is so amazing. He lives up the atmosphere!!! Plus his smile is killing me, so cutee!

I just fell in love with him recently. I have to agree that he doesn't have the best vocals and that he isn't Jay-Leehom-David rolled into one. But, I think he's got potential. He can play the piano and the violin, and he's got a really cute smile. His debut album isn't all that great, but it's only his first, and I'm expecting a better one soon =)

At times, I think Jacky Wu's the one who's always boasting about how talented Evan is. On I Guess x 3, he always gives Evan a grand introduction and then goes on to tell the world how wonderful he is at music. But I guess that's just his way of promoting his artist.

Right now, I believe he's filming a drama with K One's JR. His music skills is pretty good. I wonder about his acting...

The music was pretty well written for someone who was only 19 at the time... I think in time, he'll be able to compose really amazing songs.

I don't think he could surpass David cuz David's voice is just too beautiful, smooth, and R&B-ish. But if he wants to surpass Jay and Lee Hom, I think he should stop with the over lovey dovey songs and compose songs more like Herbalist Manual and Beneath The Plum Blossoms.

I really hate how they just give him titles like that. "Oh the whole leehom/jay/david tao package!" He's young and he has his own road to journey through. It's like how they called Gary Cao "the next leehom", and people expect him to be a certain way. If his music style varies, they say he's nothing like leehom. Or if he does sing a bit like leehom, they say he's copying and bash him anyway. I don't think it's necessary to give these talented people such pressure. It's pathetic. You should judge Gary Cao by Gary Cao and Cai Min Yo by Cai Min Yo. His singing might not be flawless, but I believe that it will improve. He has his whole career in front of him, why compare him to those whose already walked so far ahead?
Cut this poor kid some slack. No one's replacing Leehom or David Tao. Let him do what he loves to do, and we'll just support him through it. I believe that Cai Min Yo will go far, he has potential. I mean when it really comes down to it, we just wanna enjoy great music and have some eyecandy once in a while~ right?

I guess Evan Yo is focusing more on piano and violin. Leehom is more of an experimenting type, and boy does he still look professional in playing all of them.

Maybe Evan Yo can get pass Jay Chou, Wang Leehom, or David Tao... but that's definitely not going to be four years...
