I haven't edited in forever. But I thank God, even if this thread helped one person go along his/her day.

You know, we all have so many problems and so many reasons to be unhappy in our lives, but guess what? I believe in God and I believe His plan is greater then
mine. I can make so many plans and be disappointed by earthly ambitions, but guess what? God's plan is perfect, and I am part of something perfect. And in His plan
He never said there was going to be no suffering or pain, in fact, when you do follow God you are going to face persecution, backstabbing of friends, possible death,
and many other scary things. Why? Because when you live a life with God, you don't lead a normal life. You lead a life of humbleness, and faithfulness, and the path to
Heaven.

AND GUESS WHAT?!? GET THIS THROUGH YOUR HEADS! God loves you and He is pleased with you! Don't ever run away from Him! It breaks His heart. When you sin, or do the same sin
every single time and feel guilty and run away, that's exactly what the devil wants you to do because he wants to cut off your ties with God. When you feel ashamed, remember God
loves you and wants you to return like the prodigal's son.

im actually a buddhist but i respect all religions.
i honestly believe there is more than one truth but yeah religion is a sensitive topic to most people.

OH! i don't know if this will help anybody, but my pastor told me a good thing to do when you pray is to go to your own special private place. So, if you can, find a special spot where you can give God your attention and thoughts. My special place is in my garage.. lol longgg story. My requests:
-I think something on my car is broken and I probably won't be able to afford to get it fixed.
-My grandma is dying
-Money issues (a really common thing on here)

This is a good topic. I think a lot of times, us Christians underestimate the importance and power of prayer.

I have a few requests:
-My mother, who has been suffering chronic kidney failure for about 10 years now
-My family (financial problems)
-God's will and plan for me
-My unsaved friends, coworkers, classmates

And also, I think it's time for all of us young people to pray for a revival. Just look at our generation (the young Asian-Americans) as a whole. I think it's safe to say we aren't doing very well. Did you guys know that 100 years ago, in Korea, there was a huge revival? it was the result of lots of prayer for the Holy Spirit.

i have several examples to this phrase
One example is from the smartest man who ever lived, Albert Einstein.
As many of you know, Albert Einstein was Jewish, and he believed in God. History's smartest man believed in God.
Unheard of these days if you consider yourself a rational intellect. Anyways, during class one day, his teacher was denouncing God, ranting on about how God cannot exist because we cannot see him. Albert Einstein immediately jumped upon that statement arguing like this: (not exact quote sorry ) "According to your theory, that means your brain must not exist for you cannot see it at all. If we base our lives upon what we can see, there are so many things we cannot believe."

People say this is a stupid example because they say "well it's impossible to live without a brain," or "we can now see our brain through x-rays."

Guess what? I think it's impossible for me to live without God. And x-rays were not invented during Einstein's childhood time.
There are so many things we cannot see yet we believe it. Why? Because we have faith it is there. We have faith our parents are at home or at work, even though we cannot see them. We have faith that we will live to see tomorrow even though we cannot see the future. We have faith that the chocolate at the bottom of a Drumstick is there, even though we cannot see it. Well guess what, we have faith God is watching over us every single second of our lives. The reason we believe God is because we have experienced His love and it is real to us more than anything.

Why are athiests so focused on demeaning various faiths? Because they have faith they have found ways to disprove religion. But you want to know something? Athiests still follow the law of ethics, a standard of good and evil set up by God. Did you know the law of ethics contradicts science? Ethics are irrational, because no one can be the judge of your actions except God. So in a sense, athiests believe in what they cannot see. They believe they must still justify their actions, and still feel guilt after they have commited a sin of a great extent.

I, myself, too is a Christian. And yes, I have come to realize that God does answer my prayers. For instance, a few years ago, my grandma had a kidney failure. So, my family and I prayed to God that he finds a right donor to help my grandma, and indeed God did. A few months later, my grandma got a kidney transplant and she no longer goes to the hospital for a check up. *God is Good* Then, last month, I have asked God to help me pass my PPST (exams for students who are going to become elementary teachers) because I have taken them so many times and did not pass. However, I prayed and indeed, he answered my prayer and I had passed! -- I still have one more to pass -- I was so happy that I thank him right after. Then a couple of weeks ago, I prayed and asked him to help my fiance find a closer job to home...and just yesterday...a company that my fiance applied for called him for an interview. ^^ *God is Good* We were both so happy. Even though my fiance isn't a Christian...he believes that there is "someone" out there in the world who makes all of these miracles come true. So, he and I pray every night. ^^

Okay, enough of my story. ^^

Here is my prayer request:
- help me pass my PPST - READING SECTION (the last section i need to pass, which is the hardest part for me !!)
- help pray that my fiance will get that job that called him for an interview
- build up my faith in God (since I have moved in with my fiance, I haven't gone to church for a long time...but I still believe in him)
- have motivation in school so that I can do well
- stop the war in Iraq

I'm not sure if I consider myself Christian or not because it feels like my relationship with Him is dying which makes me feel that I'm not good enough to be one. you guys something happened to me just now...

at my church we had this retreat for our Praise team. The leader of this praise team is someone that I like (you may have read my topics here). He is having a really hard time these days. He is a visa student and his parents back in his country disapprove greatly of his participation in praise team. Although his parents are christian as well.. they sent him to Canada for him to study, not to go to church. Today he told mee that his father was swearing at him over the phone for going to church and his mother was yelling at him to come back to his home country... he had to leave the retreat early because of this.

He is such a faithful person and a great praise team leader... i think that Satan is attacking him... he just told me that he wants to give up... but thankfully i encouraged him not to give up.. ^^

I gotta admit it's ironic stumbling upon this topic because I actually came into this forum to help others out with whatever situation/problems they might be having, when instead I completely forgot to check upon myself. So I will tell a little story for you prayers out there to better grip my situation and for you to come to understand as to why this is my prayer request.

During the past couple years in my life, the faith between God and I, has become extremely vague. Actually, close to being non-existent. It struck me as I looked back that when I was younger, I would pray and serve whole heartedly awhile living up to the ideals for myself and others around me to be this great 'christian'. But as of late, I keep asking myself, what's happening to my faith? What's happening to ME? Last year I abruptly left my church without much warning. I was a teacher and the praise leader there. I never thought of myself being any great part of the church. Just another man serving and worshiping the Lord. But I left in search of the truth. Because you see I came to a question that really put me at my place. 'How do I know that the Lord, the God, the Holy Spirit that everyone seems to be talking about... is real?' From that point onward and to the present day, it has been a tiring walk of confusion, denial, and bitterness with a little bit of depression. I still haven't found the answer I'm looking for, but maybe the answer I'm looking for isn't where my focus is suppose to be. I truly do not know. I did find a little guidance into the right direction though. A friend approached me not too long ago and understood all that I told him. I had to assume that whatever he was about to tell me had to come from his own experience. And the possibility of having him understand what I am going through, because he went through it, gave me somewhat of an assurance settled me back to the norm, maybe because I was hoping I'd finally get to hear the answer I've always wanted to know to my question. But alas, what he told me was this. '...Christianity isn't just a religion. Sure, worshiping and giving your all into the church that you love is great. And it's even better that people can see God working wonders in your life. But that's all it seems like it is sometimes isn't it? We've set ourselves up into this routine of being holy and having godliness within us, yet when we've run dry of the spiritual high and once again become thirsty and hungry. And then we'll go back to church and fill up again for the rest of the week. And wouldn't it be great if we went back and was still full from last week? And from what you told me, staying within that cycle, it will never get you where you would most likely want to be whether it be to find truth or to give yourself the assurance of God being there. I will leave your thoughts with this question though to help you achieve your own answer. Are you and the one you call Saviour, friends? Do you guys have a relationship, where in your relationship all you know how to do is to love the other?' I've thought about this for a long time. And I realized all that I was doing was not coming from my eagerness to do service for the Lord. That what I HAD to do isn't what I WANTED to do. I had to have the want before going anywhere. I have to WANT this relationship. Until I acknowledge this, I know I'm just as good as any other person who fell victim to his own defeat.

So if you could pray for me, and I hope that you will, pray that I whatever good I have left inside of me, be willing to take the next step. To be closer to my friend, whom I call Jesus.

- I worry to much.
I say that God will take care of me and I dont really trust it.
I think to myself "OF COURSE HE WILL" but then again i dont really trust him whole-hearted.
I just hope that I'd be able to trust him more.

-My past sins cast a shadow on today
I repent and repent for my sins but it just doesnt seem to be forgiven.
Everytime I try to forget about my sins, it just comes back telling me
that I'm a horrible person and I've sinned WAY too much in life.
I just pray that I'd feel free..

-Relationship with my parents
They dont seem to care. Its recent. usually they would but now they're so caught up with work
and all they seem to do is yell at me for little things.
Instead of a nice greeting after work, it's like a battle.
"Did you do this?" "Did you do that?"
And now im so use to it that I tend to ignore my parents.
They get even MORE mad if I ignore them.
I need prayers.

And once again I just pray that I'd be stronger
emotionally with everything.

There are so many people who have problems in this world that become really hard to cope with, but although we have these problems that sometimes may push us away from God [with the question "Why are you doing this to me?"] we end up praying and asking for help from him despite this thought. Knowing that many people here belive in God has made me really happy. Nowadays, a lot of my friends are athiests or agnostic so I've been thinking to myself, "What happened to the world now? Why is faith suddenly being replaced with facts?" Reading this ended up proving my thought wrong, thank you everyone You guys have answered my prayer.
