Everyone has pretty nails. I used to do my nails myself and grow them out long and stuff, until i took keyboarding at school and my teacher made me cut my nails off.

For those who grow their nails out, how do you make them squared? My nails always have a rounded tip because I have no idea how to square them off. Do I have to grow my nails out and then file them? Or...? Help =.=

i took them off myself [ yea more like ripped them off lol ] and the glue is still on T_T too lazy to go get them taken off.. fake nails suck T.T my nails are were hecka weak afterwards -0-

I think it has to do with finger shape, too.
Because my friend has short nails like mine, but they're pretty.
I have short nails, and if I cut them, my hands look SO ugly.
and I can't square it off, I have to keep it like this

=/ they have to be long to look okay. >:[

start with cutting them short.

cut them short, but straight accross. do not cut them AT ALL round. they should be pretty much straight across.

then, file them so there is only a slight soft curve at the side so your nails don't get caught on anything.

apply a nail hardener.

wait for your nails to grow.

do not file them round. if in doubt, put the file down and walk away.

first time doing french or whatever it's called

if ur going to get ur nails done.. do u have to wait until your nails are long, than go?? or u can go even if ur nails are short, nd they can do something about it, as in make it long for you..

a mix of flowers, stars, and glitter =) it took 60 gems to make all the flowers

lol. I just lean my left hand on a table and make it steady.

Practice haha. I remember my hands use to be really unstable when i first painted in grade school. But, then as the years went on I got better.

I use a glitter nail polish that comes with the star. brought it off from Wal*Mart. or Do you mean the silver glitter? that's a thin nail brush the brand name is KISS u can get it in Walgreen, Wal*Mart, CVS.. etc.

I'm just waiting for my friend to come back from China, I asked her to buy me some nail polish.

went to a salon again yesterday
i kept my nails simple ..
haha things like these aren't allowed in school..
even as simple as this.. yeah my school's a bum..

just file it yourself..thats what i do. my nails are round too :] I filed them myself .. i took a picture of my nails like 2 pages back i think..And it grows out round because of the way you cut them.. You cut it round.. am i not right? lol If you cut it straight than it grows out with that squarish shape, but you also gotta file it :] try going to get a manicure after you get your nails grown out, they do it for you at the nial salon..

I grew them out for about 3 months and then I bit them all off (I'm an on-and-off-and-on again nail biter ).

^ i bite mine too so it's really hard for me to grow my nails long. but i've been putting nail polish on lately so that i won't bite on them. XD it kind of works..

Well I don't bite my nails so they grow and come long. Kinda like those manicures. Never really got one because people has mistakened my nails for fake ones before, so I guess you can say its nice looking. LOL.
Nail polish w/ white and clear, and it'll look professionally done.

Theres really not much needed at all to make your nails looking nice.
You can get virtually anything from a local drugstore like CVS~ Theres an abundance of colors and tools there. But if you want the real fancy stuff, you can go to a beauty store like Ulta.
I have a tip for making those cool artsy nail designs if you don't have the right nail-salon-ish equiptment~
You can get a toothpick, dip it in the color nailpolish of you choice and just draw like crazy on your nails.
It works wonders and it still looks good too~

i wanna buy that silver plate thingy with the designs on them...like you know...put polish on teh plate then u have like a scrape thingy and a stamper thing to put on the nail? does anyone know what thats called? and where i can get it?

Pacific Mall? There's a nail shop there with pretty designs, but I've never tried it before.
