I got my nails done in China in the summer, I still have them on right now, they're just not that pretty anymore...anyways, these pics were taken about a week after I had them done ^^ It was around $11 if you convert it to USD. VERY CHEAP. They're fake nails that last about a month, but it's been over a month, and they're still stuck on pretty tightly. The flowers were handpainted, and the crystals were stuck on with some type of glue...I thought that they'd fall of easily, but I still have them on O.o. I guess the glue was really good.

I think it's because the fake nails are blocking out all the air coming to your nails that are being blocked. It's the same thing with nail polish. Which is why if you have nail polish on or fake nails 24/7 isn't healthy at all.

which is also why if you take it off after a long period of time, it looks yellow-ish, it means your nails need air

^do you mean when you paint the tips? you can use regular scotch tape

works like a charm. I'm too cheap to buy those special tapes. xP

I just take a little tape and put it over my nail and put it into the desired shape I want my tips to be and paint with nail polish.

Well, I'm glad for your honest opinion. Yes, I know many people think my nails are tacky and childish. However, I actually like my nails and it doesn't bother me what others think about it. It's colorful, and I like colorful things! =]

my mom and I both take that...

...my mom used to bite her nails alot...but after taking these, they got a lot thicker so it's harder for her to bite her nails...which is like a double plus

Yeah, it took a REALLY long time...around 1 1/2 hours...cuz of waiting for layers to dry etc. They first started with the sizes of the transparent nails, and that was glued on directly, and then came the first coat, then top coat of the pink nail polish...and then the white flowers, that was done with a squeeze tube and a little hook thing for some of the details on the flowers. The crystals were placed on my thumb, index, and ring fingers. I was pretty glad with the results though But fake nails are sooo bad for your nails...-___- I broke them off, and my nails look horrible!!! Does anybody know any way to treat it? Or do I have to wait until it grows? Do Sally Hansen products work for this?

im just testin new stuff out. i used a really thin paint brush and just workin on my skills. but eventually. ill do acrylics again w/ black tips and white and silver streaks =)

regular french manicure... yes those are my real nails :]

I did mine also, in Shanghai...it was $8USD.....however, I lost one while I was walking down the Great Wall of China in Beijing my mom was afraid cuz the steps were long so she kinda yelled out and I turned around and kinda hit the handrails..wa lah, it just came off......LOL.....and so i cut them short...but it was really cute.....it had little dog pawprints over it.....with glitter.....but then, I was so unused to long nails since I have always cut my nails short...in addition, i had a heck of hard time taking off and putting on my contacts with the manicure

^ lol that's why i don't wear fake nails.. it's so long that it's so hard to put on contacts T_T

Putting it on is so much easier than taking it off. It took me 10 minutes to get it off when I had the manicure....LOL .....well, maybe it was because I wasn't used to long nails....it felt so strange.......lol

Yeah...they always have really cute nail salons over there...I did mines in Beijing. I got used to them after about 3-4 days cuz I usually keep my natural nails around that long...and most of the time afterward, they didn't even feel like fake nails. But when I pulled them off, my nails looked horrible, like the top part was stripped, and now I'm waiting for them to grow out...

About the contact thing, I'm used to putting my contacts on with long nails, lol...but when my friend got fake nails done too, she also complained about taking longer to put in contacts.

I told the lady to do a simply flower design and it turned out nice. Some of the samples they had were too...colourful and her nails even had 3D flowers attached, like those Japanese ones...but they were just over the top for me...so I wanted a simpler one. I was pretty satisfied until I pulled them off...now my real nails are so soft...ugh...

how are you guys doing your nails for homecomming? or what you already did do for it? anything special?
