My mom makes me grow my nails, argh, it's so frikkin annoying when i have to make a 'tight' fist and punch stuff during taekwondo practice cause it leaves those marks on my palm >_<
My mom said my nails have to be long enough so when my I'm looking at my palm, my nails would be visible... T_T She said my hands would look my elegant or whatever... T_T
@malevolent- OMG, so long..i know they're fake nails, but they're so long O_O

I wanted to ask those of you who do your own nail art:
I am looking into buying some nail star polishes (the kind that has a brush tip and also a pen tip)
are the brush tips a thin striper brush? or are they regular polish brushes?
And also, do you guys have any suggestions, recommendations for good nail art polishes/stripers and supplies?

well here in canada, regular ppl can't buy those little thin brushes that like draw,
because they're only allowed to be used by professionals. You know how there are
professional stores where they sell all the shampoo that the salons use and stuff,
they sell that nail polish there too and its hella expensive.
how do i know this?
both my mom and my older cousin are professional certified manicurist or whatever you call them > . >
so you guys need like this certificate and everything stating that your a pro
and that you own a store or something > . >

malevolent.: they're cool.. you get used to them.. i've gotten used to long nails.. but you can have them clip it shorter the next time you go in for a manicure.. your's are pretty long.. but they look neat.. airbrushed french tip or hand painted?
here's some new ones i did a few days ago..
i did some for my sister in law too but.. i haven't' taken pictures of them..i used the 3d pen thingiesl..and i figured how to make flowers..

i should try using a better camera.
i've grown addicted to designing nails because yeah..i have nothing to do.. ^^;;
i keep buying nail polish too.

MEOW: isn't that only for wholesale? in which they will only sell to pros for a cheaper price?

hmmm but you can get them in canada actually
if you live in richmond, bc, they sell them for $2 CAD w/o tax a bottle at DAISO (in aberdeen mall i think? i'm not sure) i remember buying a bunch on my trip to vancouver there ^^
and if you can't.. hmm there's also those substitute ones... the nail pens? they're call nail jazz or something? haha they should sell them in kiosks at the mall...... just a heads up for the canadians who want some nail art stuff

and once in a while..there's the nail stamp ones? haha i forget what they're called... konad? their base is in toronto apparently last time i asked the rep who came to calgary...
also.... if you have a cosmo lab in your school.. i'm sure they are able to order some for you if you ask them. that's what i do ^^;;;
and wow malevolent! long nails O__O but very pretty~ those could be used as weapons!!

and if you live in vancouver, daiso has cheap nail polish with big chucks of glitter for just $2

You don't need airbrushing lol. I just put on 3 coats of the nail polish to two-thirds of my nails and then quickly applied clear polish
downward. So you get that faded look. Quite easy. One tip I learned on some japanese deco site. But I forgot where the link was. Will post it up when I find it.

Your nails look exactly like mine at the moment...even the colour except for the ones with the hearts. Except I do it by layering it on and the layers get thicker more towards the top of the nail so it looks like it was smudged/faded.

LOL they're long because I'm too lazy to cut, and they break like 2 days after I paint them ~o~ which is why I always take a picture right after I finish painting, making my fingers look paint-ish
I did one coat of silver, and then I swept the brush upwards for the second color
then I sponged it ._.
that sounds so confusing @.@
o.o i think the left hand one looks nice. if you look at the pink ones for a quick second.. looks like its silver nail polish with pink pokadots LOL.

what brand of nail polish is the best to use? i currently did red tips (this thread inspired me to do my nails, and maybe learn from all of you ^^) and they are already chipping.... i think it might be my nailpolish 'cuz when i did my toes with this nailpolish, it would 'peel' off... help^^ the nailpolish is N.Y.C i think or wutever that brand name is lol
edit---
also, when you do the fading effect would you use two different tones to get it or do totally dif. colors?
